Eva died just 10 months after this live at Blues Alley, Washington DC, from melanoma. 😢
Just a few weeks before her death, while she was stiil able to sing, she performed her last song live, knowing it would be her last. Which song? "What a wonderful world” 😪
She was multi-talented and could jump from ballads to jazz thru blues and gospel. As with Lara, her attention to words and ability to reveal hidden meanings of lyrics is unmatched.
Big labels wanted to sign her but only if she specialized in one of the genre. She didn’t want to compromise on this and wanted to keep her full artistry.
She was only discovered a few years after her death when this song was played at the BBC in UK.
She immediately topped the UK charts and got record sales that only Beatles did achieve before.
Most of her covers have replaced the originals as the reference for the song and many from the young generation have been inspired by her: for instance Angelina Jordan.
This version is so amazingly wonderful..Brings tears to my eyes..She was truly remarkable. Thank you for sharing.👍👍👍
No problem! I appreciate your support as always!!! It truly means a lot! And yes! This was truly remarkable indeed!
Eva singing Blues in the Night will blow your mind with her power and show you a completely different side of her voice.
I will defintely give that performance a listen! I'm very curious! So excited! Thank u so much for watching and for telling me!
I guess you and I have about the same taste of music. Love her a lot! You should listen to or watch "Autumn leaves", from the same concert. It makes me cry every time I hear it.
I most defintely will!!!!! I'm so sadden to have heard about her passing! Such a tragedy! Can't wait to hear "Autmn Leaves" I've heard nothing but great things about it!
Love that you found Eva. She's one of the greatest singers that was for the most part never discovered. A hidden gem. Her Fields of Gold and Songbird are magical too. You should do a Jeff Buckley song one of these days. Either Hallelujah or Everybody Here Wants You.
Wow and it was live while playing her guitar!
You do realize that Eva took a classic song originally sung by Judy Garland ( movie the "Wizard of Oz") and made it her own, all of the emotions the song deserves.
Another good choice of singer Isaiah and my favorite version of this song, you are going to get many requests for the same songs from this woman but if you want to try something completely different may I suggest Blues In The Night, there is only two other reaction channels that have done it and I don't understand why it is a stunning and very surprising song from her which I never saw coming.the only thing about it is it doesn't come with a video but don't let that put you off because I think after following you for a while that it is something that you will really love.
Yes,fantastic !
Eva Cassidy was an amazing talent, and a great singer has to touch your soul, and brings happiness, and comfort knowing you are in the presence of greatness.
Here are 2 amazing talents you need to a reaction, and I guarantee you will love them
#1. Angelina Jordan is the best talent on the planet at the ripe old age of 17 years old. She is other worldly
#2. Emma Kok. She sang on the stage with Andre Rieu in Holland. At 15 years old she sang Voila in French
And got a standing ovation.
Best wishes to you, and I’ll look forward to these reactions…
Awesome! I will look into these singers ASAP! Thank u so much for watching and for telling me about them!
You just discovered my second favorite (after Lara, as you would have guessed 😂).
So sad she did not have time to give us more gems and masterpieces. But the ones she gave us are absolutely amazing. Just check Autumn Leaves, Fields of Gold or Nightbird for instance.
Yes!!!! I don't know if you remember but you were one of the ppl who requested this song months ago. I'm just now getting around to it lol! I can't wait to hear more of her songs! Such a shame she left us so soon!
This is a cover of Judy Garland’s “Over the Rainbow” from the 1939 classic movie “Wizard of Oz”. Eva made this her own. This is by far the best version of this song I’ve ever heard.
wow love iva beutiful soul singer
Yes indeed! I can't wait to hear more of her work!
Great Reaction 👍🙏
I hate the blurred out video, it wasn't necessary, but I love the reaction.
This is new no one ever has to blur an Eva video, better ways to do it too.
I will continue to learn more ways to work around the copyright. Trust me, I absolutely loathe blurring videos out.
someone needs to remaster her recordings
someone needs to remaster her recordings
You don't have to blur it -- the video was put online by her family.
I had some problems uploaded this reaction because it kept getting blocked. Unfortunately blurring it was the only way to get it uploaded
Request: Garou singing Gitan.
How about try putri ariani and dwiki darmawan cover somewhere over the rainbow.love her version
I will give it a listen! Thank u so much for watching and for telling me!
Anyone who recognizes how amazing Eva is gets a thumbs up from me.
You should check out Angelina Jordan. Check out her ( I put a spell on you) the black and white version. She was 9 years old and will blow your mind.
Will do! Thank u for telling me !!!!
No need to have her video out of focus. No one else does.
crave greatness but blure the screen so you can profit off of them what a piece of crap
Lol u do realize that this gets copyrighted through sound aswell right? I don't expect you to know that because it's clear you don't know how youtube works. In what universe do music reactors get paid?🤣 Don't know what point you were trying to make but yeah I crave greatness. There's always someone like you who tries to suck the fun out of everything. It's a shame.

@@user-he9ct8us7k LOL did I hurt your feelings already? That was quick. You talk a good game, but can't handle push back. You tried and failed. It's OK don't take it personal. Bye bye
