The latin choirs are from the Christian Hymn "Te Deum". Disney really did their homework with this one. This is without a doubt the greatest piece of soundtrack from any of their films. Alan Menken was robbed at the Oscars.
Not anymore they don't they haven't for years now too sadly. :< I miss their older stuff, older being no later then like....uh whatever year Treasure Planet came out cuz after it the axed scores pretty much. This and Atlantis the Lost Empire are the most epic then prolly Lion King.
The bells ringing because of the sheer force of might Quasimodo is putting into breaking his chains, is shaking the stone of the bell tower... Chills every time.

Comment 1: The first 30 seconds of this track still sends dark, epic and nostalgic chills down my spine! Comment 2: This theme (including the latin chanting/chorus) should be used in opening ceremonies for sports games like the Celtics, Bruins, or Superbowl / Annual Championships!
William Raih: i know you're talking about the Boston NBA Team... but i see Celtics and I can only think of McNary Celtics at McNary High in Keizer Oregon.
@Benj Smith Productions Imperial Dalek 1: "HELP ME!!! HELP ME!!! HELP ME!!! ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH! [Dies] (Explosions all around them) Imperial Dalek 2: "MALFUNCTION!!! I CANNOT MOVE!!! As much as Quasi sucked at disguises, he was damn good at climbing and totally fearless. Took that 60 foot plunge like a champ and scampered up the building like it was child's play, with a fully grown woman on his hunch.
Try Siege of Minas Tirith! The part when they cried " Sanctus, sanctus in excelsis!" should be battle of Pelennor Fields where the fellowship led a horde of ghosts.
Screw Phoebus , I would have married Quasimodo :) I mean he literally jumped off a cathedral into a fiery stake to save a woman he knew didn't loved him back, how selfless and kind can a man be?
This song now has actually inspired and gave me great ideas to do great fighting and herioc scenes too! *Returns to her Microsort Works word processor right away*.

2:41-3:11 a quarterback or wide receiver beats through a group from the other team, runs toward the end of the field with only seconds left in the game, leads his team to victory with a touchdown, and the whole team and crowd cheer wildly in tears.
I agree. I usually listen to this music when I'm trying to map or plan a big battle in my mind. Mostly involving the gods I invented or huge battles with men.
Emperor Dalek: [addressing his Dalek fleet on their plans to conquer and ravage Earth] "Purify the Earth with fire. The planet will become my temple and we shall rise. This will be our paradise!"
With all the live action Disney remakes recently, this is the one I would most like / most doubt to see. The themes are so adult, I think a live action version just wouldn't be marketable as a kids' movie
It was on the cards in the first couple of years after Maleficent came out but was put aside when the actor they wanted to play Frollo tragically passed away.
Libera me, Domine de morte aeterna In die illa tremenda Quando caeli movendi sunt Caeli et terra Dum veneris iudicare Saeculum per ignem Salva me, salutaris hostia Quae caeli pandis ostium Bella premunt hostilia Da robur, fer auxilium Sit sempiterna gloria Sit sempiterna gloria Sit sempiterna gloria
This is great when Quasimodo shouts Sanctuary while holding Esmeralda it makes me think of us pushing Satan the devil back with the sword of Oath and the shield of Faith with Jesus Christ by our side
Yes Dan this Is great when Quasimodo shouts Sanctuary he saves Esmeralda he is a hero he's so brave we won't be fighting Satan Jesus Christ will we will be praying we can help Jesus Christ by praying to god Jesus will fight Satan with the sword of light in his hand a honest month Satan is going to be arrested chainned up by the angels thrown in the abyss for a thousand years and then thrown in to hell

Couldn't agree more.
Yes, brilliant music. Not just for a kids movie. It‘s probably Menken‘s best work. I love it!
@@darthstarkiller1912 me too (Star Fox and Pirates who don’t do Anything/Chipotle and Pokémon).
This was SUCH an awesome movie and the detail they put into Quasi's face as he looks up while chained is just stunning.
The fact that Alan Menken didn't even get an Oscar nominee for this soundtrack is such a shame.
In terms of Disney Orchestrations, Hunchback Of Notre Dame is undoubtedly the greatest masterpiece I've ever heard in all animated movies
Chills go straight down my spine when I hear this. Such an underrated disney movie.
"SANCTUARY!!!" Anyone else got chills at that part?
Me
Myself as well!
Oh yes arguably the best scene in the entire film
@@mikelowry6286I know (February 21st,2024 and March 8th,2024/🙂).
2:50 Alan Menken is a genius
There is no better way to say this: Fantastic job, Alan Menken. Absolutely FANTASTIC.
"Choose me or the fire." (Esmerelda spits on Frollo)
Hello World: with Miyah LOL, yeah. And then she gives him the scariest death glare afterwards. If looks could kill... Frollo would deserve it.
Disney Movies always have the most epic soundtracks.
Except for Studio Ghibli.
No.just this one. Other sucks.
Johnny Velez Mulan by Jerry Goldsmith is just as epic. Jerry Goldsmith who also composed the Ave Satani from The Omen.
Not anymore they don't they haven't for years now too sadly. :< I miss their older stuff, older being no later then like....uh whatever year Treasure Planet came out cuz after it the axed scores pretty much. This and Atlantis the Lost Empire are the most epic then prolly Lion King.
Hence why they go so well with KINGDOM HEARTS. :']
"Hey isn't that uh feeble?""doofus.""Phoebus!"
It's Phoeble, Delphus, and then Phoebus.
The bells ringing because of the sheer force of might Quasimodo is putting into breaking his chains, is shaking the stone of the bell tower...
Chills every time.
I have so strong chills during all soundtrack ...
Gotta give a thumbs up to the descant/treble/soprano singers hitting that higher note sending the chills up my spine.

Think ya forgot "Sanctus! Sanctus! In excelsis"! Latin fer "Holy! Holy! In the highest"! Just so y'know.
Everyone’s talking about their favourite part being around 0:20-0:40. But the part that really got me is from 1:49

I love how I'm able to sing along with this whole thing.
4:29 Hugo: (crunches on rocks) Nyaaaaaaaaaaaaaam (rapid fires like a machine gun)
Sounds better when set to Lyanna Mormont giving enemies a smack down; those statues are way out of place!

I wish i grew up with this movie. I had it on dvd, but never used it.
I don't know why or how, but music or songs like this help me right the most kick ass fighting scenes in stories.
NEVER ABANDON DISENY CLASSICS!
I know it's supposed to be a serious moment, but the guards so easily blocking the priest at 0:26 always made me laugh for some reason.
Now imagine this playing during the Battle of the Bastards.
Try Siege of Minas Tirith!
The part when they cried " Sanctus, sanctus in excelsis!" should be battle of Pelennor Fields where the fellowship led a horde of ghosts.
At 2:50 onwards, I can always hear in my head 'Sanctuary! Sanctuary!'
@ 5:23
Epic finale. Like come on. That’s so good.
The nostalgia!!!! I love this soundtrack so much!!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! PERFECT! AMAZING SOUNDTRACK! *-*
WHEN HE SAYS SANCTUARY I SCREAM EVERYTIME
Screw Phoebus , I would have married Quasimodo :) I mean he literally jumped off a cathedral into a fiery stake to save a woman he knew didn't loved him back, how selfless and kind can a man be?
Quasimodo was a true friend. He knew that she still loved him, but he still cared for her and respected her even afterwards
Can I just say, for the record, that this choir is awesome.
This song now has actually inspired and gave me great ideas to do great fighting and herioc scenes too! *Returns to her Microsort Works word processor right away*.
Alan Menken, please father my children.

Favorite. I always adored this one...
This song really helps to set the mood for the fighting scenes in the stories I write.

I feel like they'd ruin it somehow, LOL.
It was on the cards in the first couple of years after Maleficent came out but was put aside when the actor they wanted to play Frollo tragically passed away.
@DanishAnimalFreak1 As a published author myself, I heartily concur. This type of music really gets me going for my battle scenes as well.

OMG, I've always had the very same dream! :D
Why does it say Howard Ashman in the description, he's was simply DEAD!

Me too! :D
This song goes PERFECTLY with Call of Duty: World At War with the final mission at the Reich.
Could anybody provide similar compositions with latin chorus, and sounding like this or Mozart's Requiem?
1:39 Frollo - prepare for a divine butt-whupping.

If they won't have this in KH Dream Drop Distance, I will be sad :(((
