  • 23 Isometric Core Exercises
    Isometric Exercises are moves where you hold in a position under tension. And often when we think of “core” isometric moves, we think of Planks. And while Planks are great isometric core moves, they aren’t the only great Isometric Core Exercises.
    These 23 Isometric Core Exercises are a great way to build your core stability and strength so that your core works properly during heavy lifts.
    All of these moves also work your entire core - they work everything from your shoulders to your knees not just your abs.
    Because these moves improve your core stability, they can help you not only get a stronger, more toned middle, but they can also help you prevent and alleviate injury.

    Appreciate that you said these exercises help mind-body connection. That's one of my favorite things about working out - the meditative aspect. It feels like a vacation from stress, because it is. Your form is impeccable. Thanks for all of your hard work and also for sharing your inspiring videos!

    Excelllent routine you show here , better than the isometric exercises recommended in other channels.!!Sadly you show them in a very short time so it is difficult to use the video as a training session. I subscribed to your channel. Thanks!!!

    One question. I am injured (lumbal injury) and my physiotherapist told me to do static exercises for core. I really like this video and I would like to know how much of those exercises should I do per day? All exercises in one day? About minute every exercise? Please give me some advice. Thank you!

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  5 років тому

      It really depends on where you are in your rehab and what injury. Some of these may be too much. You will want to start with short holds too to make sure you can properly engage your abs and glutes or you'll just overload your lumbar spine.

      Check out my 4 Core Isometrics Workout video. I wouldn't use all of them in one workout but pick the moves that match your needs based on what you want to work. Even just 20-40 seconds for 4-6 moves for 3-4 rounds could be good.

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  7 років тому +1

      I would recommend between 20-30 seconds although it depends on how you use them in your workout. You could do 3-5 sets, but again you could combine them with other isometrics and even do two different circuits or one big circuit which would change the number of sets or even time you want to hold :-) I got the rig from Battlehouse Fitness as well.

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  8 років тому +2

      Thanks! I would start out with 15 seconds and work up as you can keep your core engaged and braced correctly. 30 seconds is even more than enough if you really focus on engaging the correct muscles. And 3-5 rounds of most depending on what your workout is and how many moves you are including.

  • @kevink9206
    @kevink9206 7 років тому

    I'm curious how you get into the handstand, especially the one where you're facing the wall. Cool vid - I'm really enjoying them!

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  7 років тому +1

      So when facing the wall, you will set your hands further out and walk your feet up the wall as you walk your hands back toward the wall. It is not only a great way to hold if people struggle to kick up, but it can be a way to control exactly how vertical you go. PLUS, the walk up and back out itself can be used as a great core and upper body drill!
