A full tank of fuel makes much less of a difference than you might think. An x3m has a 50l tank and is petrol. The specific gravity of petrol is between 0.7 and 0.8, so works out between 30 and 40kg, or having an 11-12 year old sat in one without any fuel

Car weight IN THE EU At least must inlcude the following All Fluids including a FULL Tank of fuel. 75kg in the Drivers Seat Around 10Kg of luggage. Brand New Tyres and Breaks. By time you do that thats a 2075kg car, which is just under 2.1 tonns
Btw they sometimes also over estimate te weight for safety reasons (briges and such) also they (in the eu) weigh it with full tank driver of 75 kg and 5 - 15 kg of luggage and new tires (sorry for my grammer english is not my first language and I’m dyslectic 🤪.)
My 435d with 3 people of average weight of 90kg was spot on. We never know how manufacturers sets their tests. Maybe 2adults and 2 kids? That 2+2 as its suv etc. You never know

Wait it has a quarter tank of gas and you saying it's set lighter than claim, my dude they calculate with a full tank and that has like what a 60 litre tank so you're missing upwards of 45 litres that's at least 40 kg

This is easily verified on the bmw website. Ec unladen weight is a 90% fuel and a 75kg driver
The weights are wet so put a full tank in you’d be surprised what that weighs

german manufactures especially bmw mercedes and audi like to underestimate the stats of thier cars and overestimate on factos where lower is better
Don't forget the additional air in the turbos and filter not being used. Also the fumes from the fuel in the tank. It all adds up.

They probably give the number for the weight of a vehicle after every possible add on is applied and a full tank of fuel.

BMW underrates every car they put out most dyno stock 30-50 hp higher than marketed and weigh about 1-200 kg less
You have to have a full tank 75 kg as a driver and the mods you added are about the 7kg luggage depending on how heavy the tires are
They also lie about HP
All fluids need to be full. 1/4 tank is no good enough.
