- We drove past this yard and noticed it was pretty overgrown so we stopped to talk to the neighbor to see what the story was. He told us that it has been sitting empty for about a year and agreed it could definitely use some attention. We told him we would make it look good again and got to work. We thought it would be just like any other yard until we got to the back and that’s where we ran into trouble when out popped a copperhead snake right next to my mower. These are pretty normal inhabitants of the state I live in but this was a little to close for my comfort, be sure to stick around to see that encounter as well as a surprise I got at the end from yet another snake! The yard came out great even though my nerves were shot. Thank you guys for the support, subscribe if you haven’t, that really helps us continue this work

You should probably add leg gaiters to your wardrobe. Perfect protection against whatever might be lurking in the tall grass and shrubbery! I noticed the Aussie lawn guys doing this too!

The black snake is looking for that copperhead.
That’s a good snake and opossums are good for getting rid of poisonous snakes.

I used to help my Dad mow lawns for people at church, the parsonage, and church. We always saw snakes. Mostly bull snakes and garder snakes. Those are not bad snakes. They eat bugs and rodents. Sometimes they get confused by the vibration from more than one mower and don't know which way to get away. Sometimes they're protecting a nest. I would be surprised seeing a copperhead!😮😊 Love seeing your boys helping you out. Some of the best times I spent with my Dad ❤️

It is always nice to raise-up low trees. Opens the space. Your prayer for protection worked, you were notified of the snakes. I imagine the cleanup will help reduce their proximity to the house. Good help for the family dealing with the home and the neighbors.

They make guards you can wear to protect your ankles and lower leg. Some hikers wear them. Even tall rubber boots would help you. Maybe not as comfortable but definitely could prevent an issue. Good to see you and your boys doing good things. They're growing fast

Very nice job. That not only adds to the aesthetics of the neighborhood but the safety. It makes the home look lived in so it won't be a target for criminals or squatters. You are one of the rare few who bothers to trim tree branches and tidy up bushes, etc., rather than just cut and rum mowing. That's great to see the end results of all your hard work. Estates can be a tough situation on a lot of people. That's been a year already and we had one that took three years to settle because of covid, etc.
So glad you saw those snakes in time..becareful out there since you have poisonous snakes.. the yard looks so much better now and I’m sure the estate is thankful for you helping them .❤

I feel your pain and shot nerves from those snake encounters....I have a phobia about things by my feet - so no toads, frogs, mice, voles, moles, salamanders, snakes, waxy worms, or any other creatures are NOT invited to my house! Wish they'd get the message.

Yes, I believe you are correct...and possibly other types of snakes also...not sure which ones, would have to look it up. But copper heads do.

Thanks be to our Lord that you saw that Snake in time. You know i miss you and boys. I lost a brother he had cancer and i got where i lost most of the videos that i watched because i have been kind of stressed out but i am getting better each day because i know he is in a better place. WOW! I just ran into a copperhead in my fenced in side yard -- where my dogs love to be. I'm also in NC. Seems the snakes are active this Spring!

I was weed eating under a pole barn a couple of months ago. Reached down to move a plastic container and was bitten on the arm by a copperhead. Luckily it was a light bite. Stayed terribly bruised and sore for a good month. Second time I've been bitten. First time I spent a week in the hospital. Keep your eyes open

Thank God you saw that snake before you got any closer to it, a foot or two away is a lot closer than I’d want to be. That could have been so tragic for you and the boys, it’s scary to think of accidentally picking one up. Thank God for watching over y’all.
