Kyle if i may recommend invest in factory service manuals for your cars they are available online in pdf form but it takes a bit of googling to find them and merry Christmas to you and your family
Wow, I remember watching your vids a few years back. You've really grown up too, got the beard, a nice work shop, a race car, a lift, over a million subscribers and now a pretty awesome tool set. I too love how it all fits together so everything has its place. What a great gift. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
The offset of the crowfoot will change the amount of torque applied because it makes the wrench longer/shorter. If used 90 degrees to the side the torque will not change, otherwise you would need to calculate the difference to get an accurate torque.
In theory, yes. In practice, no. A torque wrench transmits torque both during and after the click, and this means that you almost always transfer more torque to the bolt than what you set the wrench at. If you ever calibrated torque wrenches this is easy to see on the torque tester. So a little extra arm from the crowfoot doesn't really matter in the real world
@@271production Lets say you are using a 12 inch wrench to torque something to 200 in lbs. 1 inch of added length (anvil center to bolt head center) means you need to set your wrench to 185 in lbs (184.6154) to achieve your desired torque. That is a 15 in lbs difference. (7.5%) I would call that significant. Lets say you want 200 Ft Lbs from a 24 in Torque Wrench. Not you have to set for 192 Foot Lbs. I don't know what you work on but in my world 8 ft lbs (96 in lbs) is a big deal.
@@deltahawk1001 7,5 % is very much insignificant. A normal torque wrench has a 4% margin already. On a torque tester you can very clearly see that when you set a wrench to, say 100 (nm or ft lbs, doesnt matter for the example) and pull until you feel the click, the tester shows that 140 is easily done without it feeling like you're going past the click. This is also the reason no car/engine factory actually uses click torque wrenches but electronic DC tools that can actually apply the correct torque. And this is all assuming the bolts have the specified friction. Dirt, oil, rust etc all COMPLETELY change the actual strength of the connection, much more than 7,5% increase in applied torque.
@@271production Yes but with the added length you are putting that 7.5% on top of the natural over torque you describe. so now it is what 10-12%? Plus a potential +/- 4% for calibration margin. Why knowingly make a tool more inaccurate? Also if using a electronic tool the offset still applies. I am not an expert in the automotive industry but I would wager you won't see those factory tools being used with an improperly attached offset adapter. I know that in Aviation we concern ourselves greatly with installing hardware properly. If a bolt is rusty it gets replaced, if it is greasy it gets cleaned unless the manual specifies lubrication, and every time a bolt goes into a tapered insert the drag and breakaway torques are verified to ensure the insert is still performing as needed. And adding 7.5% (or more on a bigger crowfoot or a dog-bone torque adapter, lets face it 1 inch is a pretty small offset) on top of whatever margin for error already exists because you are too lazy to put some numbers into a calculator will get you in trouble.
They never fit anywhere any way with a torque wrench in cars or anything smaller than a tractor, maybe a power steering hose or a diesel injector line . Hand tight once you have a feel for it ,is what most people do. Or tighten it up until it breaks and then back it off a 1/8 turn .
Hello that's some Teng tool kit you have there, and so neat all the storage sections. Allways regarded Teng tools up with the real professional equipment. I am not a mechanic but really enjoy watching your videos, I am a 74 year old Joiner. Love your total set up will be looking out for more of your videos, best wishes Geoff Lewis, Wales, UK, 🏴🏴🏴
It's really wherever you want it. I didn't want to clutter up the outside. I did the same thing on my smaller set and got used to where everything was.
I agree, I know it looks cluttered, but you will still be opening all the drawers looking for the tool you need. I think they are meant to be on the outside.
I organized it similar to how my other box was setup. I know where everything is located. I did what I did before because it worked for me. Other folks are free to do as they see fit 👍
I’ve had minimal time working on cars and have had the need for those CROWSFEET a few times. Very nice to have on hand! Congrats on the new tool set! That’s a dream set up.
Man, I facepalmed so hard when I saw it. I tried to go through the proper channels to make sure they brought something proper, but no one listened to me 😩
Great video. Comments about the noisy rain on the roof, to the FedEx driver getting stuck in rain soaked mud and of course the TOOLS! I'm here for the Jimmy restoration.
Make sure you have the Crowsfoot adapter positioned correctly when using it with a torque wrench. Position it at 90 Degrees on the head of the torque wrench when torquing a fastener with the Crowsfoot adapter.
This has to be one of the most enjoyable video's I've watched recently. It was as though I was unboxing the tools myself. I felt your joy and excitement..
You can use that empty drawer for the manufacturer specific special tools; or for special tools like inspection cameras, A/C service gauges, scan tools, or air tools.
I was looking at that tool set (might have been next size up) and for the hobbiest, and those who aren't professionals, they cover almost all the bases and should be a good starting point. Bit late now, but the different boxes had x/10 on their sides, where x was the suggested tools' location drawer. As someone else mentioned, a bit of thought before installing them would be wise as it is normal practice to put the most used at the most comfortable height and, my personal view, the heaviest tools towards the bottom for stability.
I have been looking for a decent showing of one of the Teng Tool sets for a while and this is by far the most in depth video I have found to date. Thank you sir
The stickers are supposed to go on the drawers of your toolbox not on the little containers mine and my dads tool boxes come with them label stickers and they go on the outside of the drawers
Holy Moly man. Looks like your spot should be the new car youtuber hang out. Project cars and collabs for everyone out east. Chris fix it, fuzzy dice projects. Car youtube mecca
Finally! A car repair channel hosted by guys that use the proper tools! That tool kit is awesome. If it were me, I’d put the decals on the outside of the drawers so it’s easy to find. However, I’m sure you’ll get used to the locations of each tool.
Awesome setup! Saves alot of time of having to build your set 1 tool at a time. Ive never heard of this company. Ive always been a Snap-on and Matco user. Im sure this set is alot cheaper and nearly as good though as those are.
I used to be a CDL driver. As soon as I saw that truck, and all that rain, I though "geez, I would be afraid to get stuck, down that dirt road." Lol This was driver error, plain and simple. Its not up to FedEx to provide an off-road vehicle. Its up to the driver to NOT put the truck he is provided with, in a spot where he's likely to get stuck. I would've made you responsible, to get the toolbox from the paved road, to your garage yourself.
this video actually introduced me to your channel and teng tools. one, congrats on the set man, thats a ton of tools. two, after reading the comments, and checking out the kit, 7k ain't bad for what you got here. i swung wrenches professionally for 12 years, i know guys who spent 7k on an empty box half that size. to all those complaining, check out mac, cornwell, matco, snap on, or any other professional truck tool brand. 7k for all this is a bargain for sure. congrats again guys. one hell of a kit.
I literally think you got the Ultra Deluxe Mechanic's Special. I seriously don't know what tool you didn't get. Heck I didn't even know there WAS such a thing as a 50mm socket. It is MASSIVE. It's AWESOME Kyle!!
That was a simple tool delivery. The Fed Ex guy doesn't know how to drive. He was in a pup trailer. He had plenty of room to spin that truck around and back up to the concrete. Been driving a long time.
I am looking at the Harbour freight 72 bottom and the craftsman 52x22 top box. The lid opens up enough to stand up most drills and a power strip for chargers
When you use a crows foot, it changes the geometry and you have to adjust your torque wrench accordingly. It depends on how the crows foot is clocked on the torque wrench, but it will change it.
For accurate torque measurements do not use the Crow Foot wrenches as you will be moving the pivot point and will be a few pounds off. If you don't need to be to accurate you can or you may have to calculate by measuring the distance from the center of torque wrench and the the center of the nut in the crow foot to add the distance correction. (yes math) Remember this torque is in pound/feet or as old guy like to say foot/pounds.
well, those 'wrench heads' are called "Crows Feet" and with the slight offset from the center point of the torque wrench, maybe the torque wrench you showed is calibrated to those crows feet specifically with their offset from centerline...
Those "little doodahs" are called crows feet. They can be used for low clearance areas but more commonly used to torque nuts installed on long threaded rod (all thread).

When used for torque specifications they should be used with the crow foot 90 degrees on the Side of the head of the torque wrench to apply the same torque and the wrench is set at. You might need to check out some other mechanics sites if you want more information why this is important.

nice shop setup. is that a pre fabbed building? btw, delivery drivers in tighter locations with a trailer on the back always get stuck. the first thing i thought when that pulled up was "well hes gonna get stuck somewhere" lol
I have probably spent about a thousand dollars over the years on tools, I have a mish-mash of pro and consumer grade stuff, all of it has held up. If I were a professional mechanic I would buy solely pro grade tools, but for the do-it-yourselfer, the stuff you find at Harbor Freight, Lowes, Home Depot, Ace hardware, True Value, Napa, Oreilly, AutoZone, Advance Auto, or any other retailer seems to work just fine. So, you don't need a 7 to 10 thousand dollar set of tools to have a good time in your garage on the weekend. Also, these tools were either free or heavily discounted to Kyle for advertising them on UA-cam. I'm not hating, if I could get a bunch of free tools, I would.
sweet set up dude. I like how the top soft closes. I don't like the red I've been thinking about getting a Milwaukee box but I don't like the red but still that's a sweet setup I know it's way cheaper and lower grade but I'm going for the Husky for my garage congratulations and hope you guys had an amazing Christmas I just found you guys you got a new subscriber.
Dang Kyle you've sure changed a bit, I haven't been on your channel since you bought the viper One of my fav vids of your is when you put the exhausting your grand pa's car I'm subbing ,thought I subbed yrs ago but I'm subbing know Good luck to you bro 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
What is Teng tools warranty like? I have zero experience with them. My tools are a crazy mix of everything from harbor freight and flea markets, to Cornwell and SnapOn
Good luck with your new set from Teng tools it will hold up for years to come ……… have the 800 piece set 16 years now with out any trouble at all …... there is a reason why they use the tools in formula 1 :)
OMG!!! That is by far the best set of tools I've ever seen. I don't think I would even be close to guess how much tools and boxes cost. Love the black and red combo. What brand are the tools? My first video of yours I just subscribed, I'll definitely be back soon. Incredible video, thank you, Rodney
Next for the bay. Clean bay, R33 front subframe, Powdercoat the subframe, steering rack, sikky sway bar, drift armor bash bar, repaint, new wiring harness, RB install. That's all I can think of.
Uh...twice...it’d cost at least 50 grand to buy that much snap on stuff. I’m sure this stuff is decent. I like the organization, but I kinda like to build sets to the sizes I want and things like that, so it probably wouldn’t suit me. I’ve seen smaller sets of sonic tools in sets laid out like this, and they’re a decent tool.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and safe travels this week! Enjoy your time with friends and family 🤘😁🤘
You too mate

Dang Kyle you've sure changed a bit, I haven't been on your channel since you bought the viper

The old me would say you spent 7 grand on a tool box but now that I have one it is awesome
You're living the dream. Congratulations.
Thanks pal!
Thinking of doing a metal building similar to yours, how do you like it?
Nice set up like the shop good luck in the new year.just subscribed today.
OMG!!! That is by far the best set of tools I've ever seen. I don't think I would even be close to guess how much tools and boxes cost. Love the black and red combo. What brand are the tools? My first video of yours I just subscribed, I'll definitely be back soon. Incredible video, thank you, Rodney
Teng tools is the brand
This is on my list of stuff to get if I can ever afford it. Wow....that's everything you'd ever need to work on just about anything
I remember when I moved my snap on toolbox I had to hire a rollback tow truck
Merry Christmas from Iran! Enjoy the holidays!
Same to you buddy!
If you don't mind me asking how big is the shop u have your hoist in.
Love your garage bro. Looks like a great hang out and place to work
The tool set looks stunning
It's really awesome! Going to be a lot of fun diving into using it.
If chris[fix] were to visit again, he`d be in tool heaven lol
I dreamed of such a tools unboxing, this is dream come true;;;;
Awesome set up how much did it cost ??
Next for the bay. Clean bay, R33 front subframe, Powdercoat the subframe, steering rack, sikky sway bar, drift armor bash bar, repaint, new wiring harness, RB install. That's all I can think of.
That's a good homey you got there.
So much unboxing, so much fun I'm sure. Cool set up. =)
Nice tools - hope you had a nice Christmas
Okay, it's cool and all but how much was it?
Around 6 to 7 thousand for a full set up box
@@DR3VED So is it any good? I bet one could buy alot of Snap-on tools for $7000.
@@Farmboy1544 not really. Snap on is still almost twice as much as that set up
Uh...twice...it’d cost at least 50 grand to buy that much snap on stuff. I’m sure this stuff is decent. I like the organization, but I kinda like to build sets to the sizes I want and things like that, so it probably wouldn’t suit me. I’ve seen smaller sets of sonic tools in sets laid out like this, and they’re a decent tool.
He got it for free, look at Teng Tools site
Merry Christmas Kyle!
Merry Christmas!
