I gotta say, this is more of a jazz-tango fusion. With a classical piece? Excellently done.
I also have to say, $21 for 7 pages of sheet music is reaching way too high :/
+TheExarion I agree, that's $3 for one sheet of paper and ink. should be $5 or so
Thank
Too slow
It actually reminded me of bossa nova for a little bit.
"He should play the music as written or not play it at all." Chopin 1843
He would be turning in his grave now lol. Keep up the good work man! Loved this version of Chopin!
I'm not a Chopin expert, but as I understand it he mostly took issue with pianists (namely Liszt) who would go off on really long and overly complex tangents that were hard for difficulty's sake and tended to bring the actual music to a screeching halt. Basically the "guitar wank" of the day. I'm not so sure he'd have a big problem with this since it's mostly just a reimagining or rearragement rather than blatantly showing off.
But yeah, either way, this is fantastic.
KoboldCommando also Liszt was infamous for going into concerts 'unprepared' and he'd sightread pieces, improvise and embellish them on the spot and dazzle people with his technical prowess. This ticked off the Schumann's and that whole crowd (I believe Clara complained in her diary that she can't understand how Liszt can play a piece in a concert without having practiced it first and how disrespectful that is to the piece and the audience). Liszt had many 'enemies' but he also had usually found a way to get on people's good side. Also people respected his command of the keyboard. In fact Chopin dedicated his op. 10 set of etudes to Liszt and upon hearing him play some for the first time, Chopin exclaimed something along the lines of "this is how I imagined they should be played".
Chopin was a fuddy duddy.
I've never understood why we should even care what Chopin would think about how his music is treated, given the obvious irrelevancy of the emotional experience of a dead person.
Kristian J. Respect isn’t given to make the person you are respecting feel good, it is to make yourself feel good and to honour that person’s wishes. I never improvise whatsoever with Chopin because he is known to have written music that was not meant for unnecessary embellishment.
I think Chopin would love it. He was a great improvisationist.
I want to hear a recorded version without audience!! :)
+Tony Patt they are annoying ...
agree..
Check my 2017 version.. It's live too, but the audience is quiet :-) ua-cam.com/video/k1mZdH3L5iY/v-deo.html
@@PicOpiCoHammeraaaa Why is the audience shitty?
@@PicOpiCoHammeraaaa it's a jazz audience that's it
so many people complaining about the audience, but at least theyre clapping on 2 and 4 and not on 1 and 3 as it is usual here in germany :D
You can argue either way, it's classical music after all :)
i am ashamed i understand this
Excellent Mr.Supak! First he shows us that he can indeed approach this wonderful etude in its proper original way, and then he amuses us with his jazz version...Very good sound indeed! Thank you!
The great classical pianist Vladimir Horowitz was so impressed by a performance of the piece “Tea for Two” by the great jazz pianist Art Tatum that he asked Tatum for a copy of the score, to which Tatum is said to have replied: “I was only improvising.”
Hahaha, this is so clever! Hats of to you, Michal, Šupák, you magnificent bastard
And Chopin just rolled over in his grave...
I won't lie though, genius pianist
Yeah. But he was laughing his head off while he was rolling.
멋지다ㅠㅠ
thankyou for the genius jazz composition! I'd never thought that this piece could be made into jazz and I love it! super fun to hear it💟
Such a new interpretation of music for my childhood. Just wonderful.
Wow, that's great, I really like it! This is the perfect mood booster for any party. I'm buying the sheets right away. Keep the hits coming! 😊
Amazing! Great job. Love the surprise at the beginning :) :)
1:07 - 1:15 sounds beautiful in that arangement! Going to take a look at the score and base a composition off of those chords with a similair arangement, only slower.
+Jynx MSC What's the name of that Latin style? If it is Latin.
PurpleNurpleTurtle I have no idea but I love the dark mood
I think the audience is responsive because this is not his first time to perform a piece like this. Indeed entertaining hahahaha BRAVO!!!
Simply great!
This was actually amazing
NOW it's stuck in my head - great ;-)
The jazz gave me the shakes and boogies... OH YEAH! DANCING LIKE A GAL!!! YEAH!
Wow! This is really incredible! Well-imagined and flawlessly executed. You deserve all the accolades the crowd gave and then some. I just subscribed!
What fun! Clazz. The classics meet jazz fall in love 🥰 and this s is the result‼️
Loved this!
ArchieWW wrote the audience was rude. Having listened to this piece at least 50 times, I think just the opposite. Michal grabbed them by the heart and they were entranced. As in my case they couldn't help but exuberantly express their enthusiasm.and joy. I loved it the first time I heard it and I'm sure I'll hit a hundred
and still won't be tired of it. Fantastic!!!
This is insane, friend
Bravo
very amusing I wish I could be this creative with arranging classical pieces like this!
Nicely done, Michal. :-)
This is fabulous!
Simply great
man tht is amazing! keep going

BEAUTIFUL, FANTASTIC!!!!! I played the original version a few years ago, personally I love this jazz version much more, perfect arrangement for this classical etude, very cool and chill. I can't wait to look for the score:P
awesome!!!! best version ever
you rock, and i hear you improvised that ? so cool, it respects a lot the original, while being very jazzy and creative
Fantastic!
Wow this is awesome!
*MAGNIFIKKKKK!*
Świetne!
Genius! What a legend!!
Just brilliant.
Bardzo fajna interpretacja, przyjemnie czegoś takiego posłuchać :)
Amazing! Thank you very much!
that's some skillz man
Dear Michal sometimes I choose to listen to you play the Chopin Etude before Oscar Peterson. Why? Because you play very good classical/jazz and also you put a little laughing into your music sometimes. That is special, to entertain with beautiful music and make people laugh and be happy makes you Very Special. Thank you for being quite delightful. Hope you will talk to me one day. Nita😀
Amazing!
Isso sim é ter intimidade com o piano!!!
wow
My goshhhh. So jazzy. x3
super.
magnificant! well done mate!!!!
És nem jöttél el a Kriszta koncertjére! :-(

Very chill..
Very Good! Very Impressive!!
but the sheet music is VERY EXPENSIVE!
19 euro for one score? I dont think so :)
Yeah, agreed. Wouldn't have minded to pay a small amount, but the transcription isn't that good to charge this amount, sorry.
Wow. Ok...!!! 😮 Well done! 😊
Love it too
Funky! I love it!
Super awesome
Tak tohle je perfektrní!! : -D
Geniale!
I just got to say it again, I love your base, unexpected but totally original. So musical in your own way. love it. Cannot get it off my mind.Nita😄
Thanks for your nice words :)
that was epic
진짜 개 천재다... 이런편곡은 어케생각하는건지 배우고싶어요
미쳤다!!!!

There's a musician, that's a musician.
Wow !
chopin would say what the f! lol..i love it!!!you are awesome!!!
i'm studying the original piece now, but i like this one a lot aswell!!
Bravo💯👏👏👏👌
That young man has some skills.
Really, really good....
I laughed so hard! ))
skillful and enterntaining
Bravo
Hi
I tried to purchase the sheet but it keeps saying Transaction unsuccessful try again. Is anyone else facing the same problem?
Muito bom!!!!!
Existe a pauta dessa adaptação?
Great version, but seriously who pays that ridiculous amount of money for just one score!!! I'd wonder if even a single person bought one sheet music instead of getting a whole sheet music book for that price
Felix K
i bought it. i dun mind buying him a beer if i met Michal in person.
***** Awesome rendition. Curious if you ever thought of publishing a series of jazzed up chopin etudes?
+Felix K I bought it, in terms of the quality of the score, it isn't worth the money. I have to retype the score if I gonna play it
(most seriously, the key signature, not to mention other notation problems)
quality not quantity. id buy one hiromi uehara piece for 39.99 over 5 sheet music books by some crap arranger for a piano/vocal score
Wow! Just watch the whole thing Julia Tseng
now that's some revolutionary jazz haha xD
+Julia Tseng Revolutionry etude is called because it talks about revolution and war (Bombardment of Warsaw in Poland) not because its revolutionary in some way :)
Wojciech Kozłowski I'm aware of that but I was just trying to make a pun there :)
This is epic. It's pretty much the only jazzed up etude I've heard that works... just the right balance, not straying too far from the original. Michal, I would like to see you record this again perhaps in a studio. Love how you had the crowd worked up, but this piece is so good it deserves an official recording.
WOW!!!
bravo
Abominável!
daaaaaaaamn this is a classy thing)
Jazz Starts HERE.
クラシックの名曲を編曲して、その才能を生かせるコンサートも楽しいでしょうね。
もっと聞きたいわ〜
소름돋았다 멋있네요
Hey man yu just keep playing like yu are , ull go places even yu didn't think possible 😄
Reminds me of some of Gabriela Montero's arrangements/improvisations. Awesome performance, great ideas, great execution, great great great!
When and where was this recorded? the audience is particularly responsive.
this is so cool. jazz and classical fusion!!!!! where can i find to score for this?
Sheer genius
EL OH EL bravo 👏
Misiek!
Grasz ZAJEBIŚCIE ;) Pozdrowienia dla paluszków od pianisty!
