"He should play the music as written or not play it at all." Chopin 1843
He would be turning in his grave now lol. Keep up the good work man! Loved this version of Chopin!
I'm not a Chopin expert, but as I understand it he mostly took issue with pianists (namely Liszt) who would go off on really long and overly complex tangents that were hard for difficulty's sake and tended to bring the actual music to a screeching halt. Basically the "guitar wank" of the day. I'm not so sure he'd have a big problem with this since it's mostly just a reimagining or rearragement rather than blatantly showing off.
But yeah, either way, this is fantastic.
KoboldCommando also Liszt was infamous for going into concerts 'unprepared' and he'd sightread pieces, improvise and embellish them on the spot and dazzle people with his technical prowess. This ticked off the Schumann's and that whole crowd (I believe Clara complained in her diary that she can't understand how Liszt can play a piece in a concert without having practiced it first and how disrespectful that is to the piece and the audience). Liszt had many 'enemies' but he also had usually found a way to get on people's good side. Also people respected his command of the keyboard. In fact Chopin dedicated his op. 10 set of etudes to Liszt and upon hearing him play some for the first time, Chopin exclaimed something along the lines of "this is how I imagined they should be played".
Chopin was a fuddy duddy.
I've never understood why we should even care what Chopin would think about how his music is treated, given the obvious irrelevancy of the emotional experience of a dead person.
Kristian J. Respect isn’t given to make the person you are respecting feel good, it is to make yourself feel good and to honour that person’s wishes. I never improvise whatsoever with Chopin because he is known to have written music that was not meant for unnecessary embellishment.
I want to hear a recorded version without audience!! :)
+Tony Patt they are annoying ...
agree..
Check my 2017 version.. It's live too, but the audience is quiet :-) ua-cam.com/video/k1mZdH3L5iY/v-deo.html
@@PicOpiCoHammeraaaa Why is the audience shitty?
@@PicOpiCoHammeraaaa it's a jazz audience that's it
I gotta say, this is more of a jazz-tango fusion. With a classical piece? Excellently done.
I also have to say, $21 for 7 pages of sheet music is reaching way too high :/
+TheExarion I agree, that's $3 for one sheet of paper and ink. should be $5 or so
Thank
Too slow
It actually reminded me of bossa nova for a little bit.
Very Good! Very Impressive!!
but the sheet music is VERY EXPENSIVE!
19 euro for one score? I dont think so :)
Yeah, agreed. Wouldn't have minded to pay a small amount, but the transcription isn't that good to charge this amount, sorry.
so many people complaining about the audience, but at least theyre clapping on 2 and 4 and not on 1 and 3 as it is usual here in germany :D
You can argue either way, it's classical music after all :)
i am ashamed i understand this
멋지다ㅠㅠ
And Chopin just rolled over in his grave...
I won't lie though, genius pianist
Yeah. But he was laughing his head off while he was rolling.
The great classical pianist Vladimir Horowitz was so impressed by a performance of the piece “Tea for Two” by the great jazz pianist Art Tatum that he asked Tatum for a copy of the score, to which Tatum is said to have replied: “I was only improvising.”
I think Chopin would love it. He was a great improvisationist.
Revolutionary etude is one of the most important etudes Chopin wrote. It talks about Warsaw bombardment, blood, tears, death, sacrifice, loneliness, etc. Pianist is great of course but for me, when i know story of this piece, its not that funny.
It is not funny for me at all, but it is pleasant for me to hear the fusion of good music, and in my opinion this version still expresses these "images" just with some new different tools of expressions.
That's your personal interpretation
Eduardo Valdes No, it's actually the basis on which the piece was written. Do your research.
I don't think a piece's background has to be taken into account to give a good performance. I absolutely respect the piece and Chopin himself because of the inspiration the original piece came from, but that doesn't mean that it is prohibited from being elaborated on. Variations are usually done purely from a musical perspective.
+Wojciech Kozłowski The Warsaw bombardment was in 1939, chopin died in 1849, stop trying to be wise criticizing someone and go study kid.
Great version, but seriously who pays that ridiculous amount of money for just one score!!! I'd wonder if even a single person bought one sheet music instead of getting a whole sheet music book for that price
Felix K
i bought it. i dun mind buying him a beer if i met Michal in person.
***** Awesome rendition. Curious if you ever thought of publishing a series of jazzed up chopin etudes?
+Felix K I bought it, in terms of the quality of the score, it isn't worth the money. I have to retype the score if I gonna play it
(most seriously, the key signature, not to mention other notation problems)
quality not quantity. id buy one hiromi uehara piece for 39.99 over 5 sheet music books by some crap arranger for a piano/vocal score
Hahaha, this is so clever! Hats of to you, Michal, Šupák, you magnificent bastard
😂
진짜 개 천재다... 이런편곡은 어케생각하는건지 배우고싶어요
쩐다
haha, i need to play this since i cant play the original etude...lol :D
nice profile pic
+Noah Johnson lol hi again xD
Frédéric Chopin Hi frederic :) I used to have the same profile pic as him HAHA btw I'm about to make another youtube upload wait until you see it
Noah Johnson nice !!! I liked your preludes alot :D
+Noah Johnson Hi Mr. Noah!!! We meet again! Hope you are studying hard!
thankyou for the genius jazz composition! I'd never thought that this piece could be made into jazz and I love it! super fun to hear it💟
Dear Michal sometimes I choose to listen to you play the Chopin Etude before Oscar Peterson. Why? Because you play very good classical/jazz and also you put a little laughing into your music sometimes. That is special, to entertain with beautiful music and make people laugh and be happy makes you Very Special. Thank you for being quite delightful. Hope you will talk to me one day. Nita😀
Gdzie to jest jazz version!? Przypomina polke i profanacje Chopina! w ogóle to jest prawdziwa profanacja jazzu!!
Non si può prendere in giro Chopin x fare successo, non porta bene .. rispetta la musica classica..
GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! HAVE NO WORDS! LOVE IT!
1:07 - 1:15 sounds beautiful in that arangement! Going to take a look at the score and base a composition off of those chords with a similair arangement, only slower.
+Jynx MSC What's the name of that Latin style? If it is Latin.
PurpleNurpleTurtle I have no idea but I love the dark mood
At first i was like watch this dude fail so bad then im like daaaaang this chiz is good!!!!
What fun! Clazz. The classics meet jazz fall in love 🥰 and this s is the result‼️
Why do people feel the need to clap?😒
Amazing! Great job. Love the surprise at the beginning :) :)
wow
NOW it's stuck in my head - great ;-)
I think the audience is responsive because this is not his first time to perform a piece like this. Indeed entertaining hahahaha BRAVO!!!
The jazz gave me the shakes and boogies... OH YEAH! DANCING LIKE A GAL!!! YEAH!
A ja pytam, co jest w tym tak śmiesznego i po co te chichoty w międzyczasie? Niestety te śmichy chichy nie wiadomo z czego psują całe wrażenie.
Such a new interpretation of music for my childhood. Just wonderful.
super.
Excellent Mr.Supak! First he shows us that he can indeed approach this wonderful etude in its proper original way, and then he amuses us with his jazz version...Very good sound indeed! Thank you!
I can't help but wonder if some of the jazz greats like Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck weren't influenced by great composers like Chopin and Mozart.
Wow, that's great, I really like it! This is the perfect mood booster for any party. I'm buying the sheets right away. Keep the hits coming! 😊
ArchieWW wrote the audience was rude. Having listened to this piece at least 50 times, I think just the opposite. Michal grabbed them by the heart and they were entranced. As in my case they couldn't help but exuberantly express their enthusiasm.and joy. I loved it the first time I heard it and I'm sure I'll hit a hundred
and still won't be tired of it. Fantastic!!!
carino, bravo, tutto quello che vuoi,ma,sia tu che il pubblico, non irridete Chopin, che essendo THE ORIGINAL,resta il migliore e l'insuperabile,THE BEST and THE PEERLESS..
I laughed so hard! ))
skillful and enterntaining
Shit music available? Yescho pollska nye zagnulas? Skoro zagniet.

Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz
Hi
I tried to purchase the sheet but it keeps saying Transaction unsuccessful try again. Is anyone else facing the same problem?
I really want to buy this sheet music. But it's true that it's too expensive. I think I can buy it for about 5 dollars.
Who is this genius???
와 진짜 오랜만이네...😣😥
May I know if the sheetmusic is ready? Where can I buy it? Thanks.
de que se rie la gente!
Wow! Just watch the whole thing Julia Tseng
now that's some revolutionary jazz haha xD
+Julia Tseng Revolutionry etude is called because it talks about revolution and war (Bombardment of Warsaw in Poland) not because its revolutionary in some way :)
Wojciech Kozłowski I'm aware of that but I was just trying to make a pun there :)
На кладбище в Варшаве обнаружен танцующий гроб.
chopin would say what the f! lol..i love it!!!you are awesome!!!
*Revolutionary etude if the Poles revolted in the 1920's*
prominte? Vy jste cesky klavirista? Jsou Vase noty k mani? Rad bych Vasi skladbu hral! Jsem vietnamec z brna... predem dekuji!
*calling Chopin*
Chopin you there????
bravo
Why do these people think this is funny?
Pretty comedic performance. This is just kind of a "swingy" Bosa Nova...not really "jazz".
This was actually amazing
Hi Michal
You probably get tons of questions regarding the music sheet. My question... isn't going to be any different :P Could you let us know where we can buy the sheet? Cheers!
Isso sim é ter intimidade com o piano!!!
There's a musician, that's a musician.
Yeah its jazzy and fun, but why tease with such a masterpiece of piano and instead play a piece that's fun and uplifting based off revolutionary, when you could have played the beautiful, dark, expressive, and genius composition that the worlds greatest pianist gave to us.
Dałeś czadu umiejętnością, techniką i zrozumieniem oryginału oraz, jak wskazuje publiczność humorem i parafrazą...
Powerful and humorous😅
And Chopin just rolled over in his grave... If he heard this I would venture to say he would not be a happy composer.
I won't lie though. Brilliant pianist and a comedically genius performance
소름돋았다 멋있네요
We are waiting man!
Dave Brubeck, eat your heart out!!! That was easier to play than the original, but, a performer in this idiom will make more money that the greatest concert pianist alive will in any one year!!!!
Majstersztyk megaaa dajesz Mozdzeryzm
새로운 해석이네요... 재치
Wow! This is really incredible! Well-imagined and flawlessly executed. You deserve all the accolades the crowd gave and then some. I just subscribed!
They play pretty much the same version of this Etude in the salsa song "Sonido Bestial" by Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz
wow , funny ! but love it !
See this ! I almost gave up after it - Chopin - Jazz - Valse No.7 Op.64-2 - Makoto Ozone Ver. - 小曽根真
I think Szopen would aprove of this, had he an oportunity to listen to this great performance. I love both jazz and classical music and this piece is amazing.
Jazz Starts HERE.
Hi there! Please see out the brand new cover thing i have done! I tried my best! Cheers!
I believe that Chopin would be a great jazz player if he was born in 20th century.
Não consigo comprar o arranjo. Já tentei várias vezes e o numero do meu cartao nao é aceito e o formato do meu telefone, não é aceito também. Infelizmente vou desistir.
Carrontunes.
Bardzo fajna interpretacja, przyjemnie czegoś takiego posłuchać :)
Cute. Eldar would have done this better though :-)
very nice arrangement but
I wonder ...It seems using a key signature in the score is so difficult LOL
Misiek!
Grasz ZAJEBIŚCIE ;) Pozdrowienia dla paluszków od pianisty!
And see this also: THE BEST - Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue - Makoto Ozone, NY Philharmonic
Nicely done, Michal. :-)
Abominável!
WOW . I love that piece and Jazz it´s like the best Interpretation ever :) makes me want to learn more jazz and get chopin going again :)
Yea but this easier than original
Audience.. Please be audience!!!!
Wow to było niezłe, ale publiczność wszystko zespuła :/
You ruined a Chopin study
クラシックの名曲を編曲して、その才能を生かせるコンサートも楽しいでしょうね。
もっと聞きたいわ〜
Hey man yu just keep playing like yu are , ull go places even yu didn't think possible 😄
SO FUCKING COOL!!!
LOL!!! awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Michal. I think you are a great entertainer and pianist. Wonderful. Nita.😂
Could you please lower the price a little please? I would love to buy it.
Anyone know where the sheets are? :)
Most of the great composers were improvisors.I bet Chopin would have loved this.
man i would love to pay for the sheet music, but. 19 euros ;.;
Reminds me of ratatouille
awesome jazz guy_:♭
