Use the best tool for the job. That is all. Subbed. Alright. Got a bit further in the video now. Linux does run more software. But windows runs more widely used and supported software. That's the difference. Using Linux from Windows: WSL, virtual machine, remote server + ssh, web-based shells, using two machines on lan with synergy or other similar software...
@11:04 right on man! There is [pick your favorite internet forum] fashionable, where OS choice is ideology based, then there is reality. Of course making a "X is better than Y" statement without defining the criteria for that argument in the same statement is begging for a flame war by people who will be nasty.
@@NicholasBernstein I think you should put your argument and summary of evidence up front, which courteously allows a newcomer to make an informed decision if they are going to invest their time in your opinion. Having followed you from reddit and being "OG", I know you're worth the time but a casual viewer who is interested in a career in IT or just IT topics may not know. There is the time tested formula of introducing your argument, summarizing your facts, an analogy to stress importance of the topic, the body of evidence, an anecdote for emotional appeal, and summary to close. Some variation depending on topic keeps things fresh but by doing so has helped me when speaking publicly. Not trying to stop you from rambling but I think if you get to your point quick, it leaves you free to ramble after while giving your message the widest appeal. Just a suggestion, obviously.
What are your views on installing Windows in a VM with base os Linux? Because I heard somewhere that Hyper-V or virtualbox virtualization is not very good
I've found virtualbox to be better than hyper-v personally, but that's probably because I don't have as much experience with HV. KVM is built-in linux virtualization and quite good, so that's an option as well.
On becoming a technical instructor? Have a lot of experience on a topic and volunteer to give talks for things like user groups, conferences, etc. Financially, I was part of a startup that Microsoft acquired about 15 years ago. Since I'm already very frugal it helped let me not have to work a ton.

Any advice on achieving that kind of lifestyle?
