Thank you for doing this video. I love seeing different types of lenses on zve1. I have tried APSC lenses on mine. It works perfectly fine, but I hated having to zoom in every time I turn the camera off. The 20 mm 1.8 is king for me
I really appreciate that, and I completely get that... The 20 is still probably the best lens that I own; it's hard to beat! However, if I could design a prime lens, maybe a full frame 18mm f1.4 would be the dream... I think you may be hearing right, as from what most people report that native Sony full frame lenses work best... However, in my experience after Sony released their first firmware update to the camera, I didn't notice any major jittering issues with any lenses, third party or APSC. I love Christopher Frost, he's definitely one of my favorite lens reviewers, and for that reason and due to the fact that he's so recognizable that if ever I don't have b-roll of a lens because I don't own it, I will use his and of course credit him. I'm not sure if you noticed but my videos are scripted and recorded prior to editing and adding b-roll, so of course I would not even conceive of retroactively recording myself to verbally credit b-roll (for redundancy?) when it's written in a graphic unless it's part of the narrative. @@Channel-xx8qt yeah, that's a brilliant focal range!
i bought 2 primes just to forget about this lens. it sucks.
I get that, 90% of my lenses are primes and faster than f/2.8, but for $65 as a compact, versatile zoom for traveling, it's been good for me in a pinch. If I'm shooting for a client though, I usually reach for a prime!
Helpful video. Btw Leica is a German brand and not Japanese :)
Thank you! And you are so right about Leica... I realized that right after I finished my edit. I'm not even sure how I completely missed that before then though... as I even learned about Leica in art history! Ugh, there's always at least one dumb error in my videos! Yet, I really appreciate you gently correcting me! Thanks again
4:33 great Use Of A Wide Lens 😉Who Needs 'BOKEH"🤡
Agreed! This lens is not great if you're looking for bokeh...
I regret selling my 28-60mm kit lens :/
I'm sorry to hear that, and I completely get it... I almost sold it too but changed my mind at the last minute! Hope you come across a cheap, used one!
Leica is German, Ricoh is Japanese
You are right! I noticed that I stupidly included that name on the list, late night in the edit, after I published it. I made a note in the description somewhere, but I wish I could have caught it... Thank you!
0:57, wow, did this man just straight up steal the quality chart from Christopher Frost youtube video 😮 like yeah, you wrote in the credit but a verbal shout out would have been waaaay more acceptable. Thats not cool ☠️
I don't think it's a bad idea at all, but completely unnecessary for my personal work flow--nor is there any ethical standard to do so... Yet, it's a good idea, and I fully support you if that's the type of video you want to make. I could see that working for someone else... Cheers!
WORST kit lens ever.
That might be true, there's been a lot of bad kit lenses throughout the years, but even so, for $60 it's nice to have on hand since it's so small!
for videography,it is 16-50 F8 Gmaster
A 16-50 f8 GMaster? Do you mean the 16-35 f2.8 GM or the old 16-50 A mount? Sorry for my confusion!
@@BrianCatalanosorry,its the 16-50 kit lense for apsc, the image quality is actually not bad at F8 especially for videos. So 16-50 F8 GM,half joke half true
@@夏侯彪 ha ha... I get that and you're right!
