A video about your experience with your injury and the process of maintaining your health during that time and getting back into ballet would be not only fascinating but educational for a lot of ballet dancers. We don't talk about our injury experiences enough!
Maria was wearing sunglasses after her injury. It’s very possible that she doesn’t want to disclose the specific nature of what happened because in ballet it may involve a partner? This of course would lead to the next question … “who was your partner when you were injured?” Time will pass and any pain and guilt will be replaced by success. Maybe then she will feel more comfortable discussing the specific nature of what kept her away from the stage?
What can one say about a video where you show us your heart. It is funny that God places us in difficult times only to find out that He has given us a gift. There is a new depth in your dancing in this video - a freedom from technique that launched your soul. May this next phase of your career bring out more artistry. Thank you for sharing this journey with all of us.
I’m so glad that you’re back! However I have to share that I’m disturbed that the Mariinsky is still performing this piece by Ratmansky after they refuse to acknowledge him on the Mariinsky website or in the program. It’s like it’s a ghost choreographer! But we all know the brilliant artist who made this work for NYCB. I wish you well in your career, stay healthy and strong!
your performance was stunning and i think i speak for all of us when i say it's so good to see you dancing again!! injuries are a difficult thing to go though both physically and mentally and im so glad you've recovered. you are such an inspiration, truly 💞
Dear Maria, thank you very much for your beautiful videos. I am a great admirer of yours. To me you are something special: an exquisite and refined dancer and a very intelligent person with a big heart. I'm convinced that your injury break also has its positive sides and will help you to continue growing as an artist and as a person. Take your time to develop your own personality. Keep always your privacy to protect yourself. I'm looking forward to more of your wonderful videos. I wish you a happy and healthy life!
Maria, I wrote you few months ago...you are the best Flore, awakening in the garden!, but now in this video you are an amazing dancer, brava, indestructible woman, you are floating as a spring flower, you are standing in glory, like a fairy dancing lovely in our hearts, THANKS a lot.🥰🥰🥰🌺🌹🌷♥♥♥
As a disabled person who can barely walk to the end of the driveway without being in some kind of pain, I’m SO happy you are able to go back on stage, and look at everything in a new light, and have an even deeper appreciation for your art!!! I know how hard it is to be frustrated at your body for not being able to do something “normal” or even normal to you, and when your body fails you, it can be scary. Hopefully you never have to go through anything like that ever again! The dance was ✨gorgeous✨ and you are ✨stunning✨
Oh, wow, how lovely! I did feel like your performance was suffused with a deep joy and a different depth of emotion than we've seen before - it was just gorgeous. I'm so sorry that you had to experience so much pain and frustration to get to this point. From what you've shared, however, it does seem to have left you with new perspective on your art - perhaps that has been a gift after all.... My very best wishes for you that you continue to be injury free and stronger than ever.
Maria, I found out that injuries are teachers for us. They test our patience and also our focus and revaluation of our life. You go on an emotional roller coaster from frustration to become comfortable in the stillness. Being able to go back to stage and do what you love the most is the most wonderful feeling. I felt grateful to my body for allowed me to learn and love what I have now in my life.
sometimes with Ballet I find myself just watching the feet, but with you and your performances I find myself absolutely engrossed with every part of your dancing, your face, your arms, your feet, your entire being is the performance and dance. Welcome back!
Adorable, Maria. Truly adorable. And your outfit today is all a statement. I left ballet in 2019, due to a spine injury, since then i've been dancing just for recreation. Now i'm stuck in a strange hip injury and i know ballet is not in the cards for me anymore -even for fun-. We never know how much we can miss stage -even if it's not Mariinsky-, till we can't do it anymore. Good luck, my girl.
I love this kind of video. I love watching the performance first, and hearing your thoughts and comments later. We're really lucky to have you, and see you dance, while also having insight about your experience 💛
I would personally love to see a video about your injury journey. I am going through an injury right now and struggling to accept that I cannot dance for now and some time. So when you are ready that would be very helpful to hear your story 💕
This was incredible & beautiful to watch! I don’t know a lot about ballet but recently have acquired a deep appreciation for this art. The music along with the fluid motion of dancing feels almost like floating in space. I’m floored by all of the discipline and life long dedication it takes to do what you can do. It really inspires and motivates me in my own life and art. So yeah, keep making content. Your videos have a fun & approachable personality. Thanks for sharing these moments. I can tell how much it means to you and I’m happy you’re able to get back on stage and perform! Take care!
Thank you... for letting us into your soul for a moment. Injury, and return from injury... can be as crushing, testing, and enlightening. One has an opportunity to come back stronger and with an appreciation that we did not know until then. From experience, it was the worst... and the best. Onward Ms Khoreva.
Oh Maria, such an honor watch this, a huge pleasure, thanks for sharing this moment with us! ❤️ I wish all the love, and health, and balance, and success for this new chapter of your life. Maybe one day we could see you teaching online and spreading this passion about dance even more. Welcome back, beautiful! ✨
Wow, I am tearing up too, watching this, just feeling your emotions about getting back on stage. You are such a beautiful dancer and so lucky to have a body that wants to do what you want it to do (most of the time, anyway :) ). I would love to see the video you talked about making regarding your healing process. As to seeing videos and hearing commentary, I want to see just the video with no commentary, and then I'd love to see and hear you discuss it afterward. This video was so nice to watch. Thank you.
Dear Masha! You danced beautifully! In the last time, you have been a deep source of inspiration and motivation for me. Yesterday, I attended one social occasion, which was opened by two rounds of performances by ballroom dancers from one of the dance school in my city. And as I watched, it deepely struck me when I realised how lucky I am to dance ballet. I have big respect for the dancers who performed as well as dancers of all other dance styles, but I have understood that ballet simply has such depth to it that no other dance style has. It is so deeply expresive, we perform to the most beautiful music and can give our audience so much more than just an esthetical experience - we tell stories, some with a very clear meaning, some from which everybody can take something different, for everybody's perception of what happenes in stage is different. I understood why I actually love ballet, it is because it speeks to the soul. I wish much luck with returning back to a full on professional life. God bless you!
Firstly, so pleased you are back after your injury. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for you. Secondly, how beautiful that performance, Maria. The way you moved with that beautiful music was breathtaking. Your body became the music.
I'm so sorry you were seriously injured. You were so strong and flexible before the injury. I see you are still experiencing pain and I hope you can work through it. Serious injury can be life-altering. I hope you can continue to practice your art. You have great drive and focus, and expect the grieving process for the pain and injury to continue for a while longer. Yes, I would love to see videos of your injury and recovery process. It will help your viewers to understand the trials in your personal life and also continue to provide revenue for you, even as it limits the roles you are able to play. Keep fighting! Let's see the light come back into your eyes!
welcome back! I am truly happy for you! Interesting would be to know what you learned from the injury, what you would be doing differently in the future to avoid such thing happening again.
Coming from one professional to another, that was absolutely exquisite! To answer your question, I would love to see you critiquing your own videos while they’re playing. However, the ones you are particularly emotional about, like this one, I loved how you spoke about your feelings and experience afterwards. Congratulations on your beautiful return to stage!! ❤
So glad you recovered well dear Maria 🥰💖🌷absolutely beautiful performance got tears in my eyes ,so beautiful 😅☺️🩰and yes we must be grateful for every moment that is given to us 💗 it would be great to see a video about your recovery , I wish you a great day 🌅🌻thank you for being such a great inspiration 💖
Im so happy you are dancing again. I cant even imagine the fright you must feel at times. I am not gonna lie, a tear fell from my eye as soon as you did your 1st pirouette (i think that is correct move). Also, I would like to compliment your look. You look absolutely stunning! And last the Mariinsky is nothing but perfection.
I loved this video. I’ve been watching for several months and had no idea that you were injured. I’m very sorry to hear that! I enjoy the commentary very much! I find your input extremely interesting! Stay well and thank you for these wonderful videos!
So sooo happy for you !!! 🥳🥳 When you are ready I would really like to see your journey with an injury cause I think that many people like me need to see what is like and how to try to be patient and not giving up. Love you !!! Hope one day I'll be to see your performances live and not only via UA-cam ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations on being back on stage. I could feel the emotion in this piece. I loved that you let us enjoy the performance uninterrupted. I think I’d like to see both uninterrupted performances and commentary on them. Maybe with shorter performance you could show it first in full, then break it down with commentary afterwards.
This was so sweet and beautiful. Your joy was evident. There was only smooth effortless expression. To watch, one would not have known you were injured, though your dancing has changed, matured perhaps? An expression of passion and soul that shone through. 💜 Thank you for sharing. This was such a pleasure to witness and hold that space with you.
Wow!!! First, beautiful performance! Second, I can fell the depth of your emotions, the joy, the gratitude, the courage, the emotional growth, just through your performance. And your words emphasised what I watched in the dance. I return, I give you my gratitude for sharing this! I love watching you dance and listening to your commentary. (I live near Saratoga, NY, where the NYC Ballet has summer performances, and I enjoy the workshop with the dancers before the performance offering their stories about creating a performance, which to me, is more satisfying and is helpful to understand the depth of the performance.) I think that as painful as your injury must have been to your body and soul, you have emerged stronger, and your dancing has a depth that I cannot describe. Thankful you are back on stage and a big thank you for sharing this! ❤ (Also, when you are ready, the story of your past 8 months would be fascinating to hear!)
I am so glad that you are able to dance again. I am not a dancer, but when I was young, I was very athletic and was active in many different sports. I remember my first serious injury. For the first time in my life, I was not able to "shake it off." A day or two of rest didn't restore my body to itself. I'm afraid that I didn't handle it well. I felt betrayed by my body and I took out my frustration on those around me. I am now in my 60s. Since my first serious injury, I have never taken my body for granted. I learned to listen to my body. I pay more attention to the alignment of my body and how I used my muscles and tendons. My injury made me stronger. I was not worried about the ending of a career I had devoted my life to. I'm sure it was terrifying. I'm so glad that you are able to dance again. When you are ready, I would like to hear about your injury - but if you are never ready to share that information, I'm fine with that as well. I prefer to watch the performances without speaking first. I would like to see you dance The Rose Malade. It might be too much for your back at this point. There are some lifts that might be too much of a strain. But, I think this experience would allow you to feel the loss this ballet conveys. Below is a link of the Incomparable Ulyana Lopatkina dancing the role. Her partner, Ivan Kozlov, is under appreciated. Their emotional connection on stage is palpable, and I think he was her best partner. Anyway, you've probably seen this video, and studied it as well, but... ua-cam.com/video/vQx_5ICXYG4/v-deo.html
Love you so much and for your sharing. Grateful for whatever you share and in whatever format works best for you. So happy for you for a positive experience and so sad you had the injury.
In this world of uncertainty, unfortunately, injuries, slow recovery and in some cases even a fear of not recovering fully are part of a dancer's life. Although I am only a hobby dancer, being unable to dance for many months due to injury was very painful for me - it is hard to imagine what it may be like for a soloist such as you. So I think it would be very educational and valuable if you shared your experiences with us. - And I am so glad to see you back in your happy place performing!
My dear, I have been following you just for the last month but I'm in love with your power, your force, your grace. And I was really touched watching this video understanding the passion and pain behind it. I would appreciate to understand better your injury and follow you in your recovery. This video requires no words, but normally I like your comments. Congrats, this is a great win
Dear Maria, in your beautiful performance I'm feeling pure purity 🕊... Thank you for sharing this. I wish you lots of health, strong, inspiration and blessing to your journey. 🌹
The best news ever! What a relief this must be for you. Congratularions on a stellar performance. BTW at the moment we have 43 lily bushes (like the one at the beginning of your video) in burgundy and white growing in our garden. Wish I could have sent you some. Best wishes from Patagonia, Chile.
Beautiful, my favourite music and very interesting to see another choreography to this. I understand how you must feel. I myself was injured when a young dancer but in those days 30 years ago there was not the understanding and care there is now so I never came back and it was heart breaking and took many years to get over, so I understand how grateful you feel to be able to move and express yourself again. Many blessings for your future

Yes I would like to see a video about your injury, the process and all things/ all aspects of your healing process, Maria.
I would definitely love if you added a personal commentary to the performance videos. I have a lot of respect for you because of your genuinity.

What a lovely partnership between Maria and Konstantin. Among all the joys were the super-expressive hands . . .

The dance you did really beautiful and you did good
Thank you for posting your beautiful performance of Ratmansky's great ballet. Best of luck for continued success and complete healing.
I've just learned this Shostakovich piece on the piano. How wonderful to see this lovely ballet interpretation of such a beautiful piece.
We are also so so happy to see you back!! We look forward to all the new dance videos of you we will see!!
I love when you comment. It helps feel part of each journey in performances xxx

Your magic is back as you embody the difficult choreography with a lovely stage presence and great artistry. Compliments to all of the dancers.

You are simply lovely.
Наконец-то! Следим за афишей дальше. И спасибо, что поделилась личной историей
So happy you’re fit and well again. As a dancer it’s the worst thing being injured as your body is your tool. Look after yourself and be happy. X
Поздравляю!
Чудесное выступление!✨
Congratulations to you on your comeback. You are a beautiful dancer and person inside and out. I love your videos 😎❤️😎

I am glad your injury has healed and that you have returned to where you love to be. As long as you find joy in dancing, STAY WIT IT!
so happy for you...and glad you can grace us with your ballet performances...again!
Thank you Maria❤
My injuries were career ending... I'm so, so happy for you 🤗 You are made of light and sparkle, your dancing is such a treat 😊💜
That was So BEAUTIFUL 🌹🌹🌹 Maria Khoreva, in this video, Your Dancing truly communicated the Joy which you were feeling.💐
Yes- please tell us more about your injury and your comeback!
Maybe 2 versions you'd like to do.
Can't wait to see what you come up with. Thank you!
Oh my god girl. Those earrings
What a beautiful music, Maria!
GOLDESS BLESS YOU MARIA
