It would be best for mama to wean the baby. He's old enough to do well without her, and she needs to keep her energy for herself. It's not unheard of to wean babies at 5 months if they are pulling down the mom. Praying you find them all good homes. 💖🙏💖
I would love little Bullseye. What a pretty Buckskin foal , though he will really miss his mama for awhile. My filly missed her mom so much, it was 💔, but with love and attention, she moved on😊
Great the mare and foal get a chance at a better life. I do wonder why so many horses from the Res. end up in these circumstances. This mare and foal look decent, in comparison many others.
I think 🤔 you should save Bullseye 🎯 for Blake to be his new horse 🐎 to be a good project after his mission. Is there a nother foal there about the same age to have them put together to play and learn together. I thought now you have 2 buckskin colts for Blake to choose from. Have a nice Halloween 🎃 month.

Peppy is looking wonderful! Bullseye is going to be a lady killer! I love his markings. I hope that they don't change as he matures. ❤😊

mine had 12 quarts grain nurse the foal plus a bale of hay. slow increase grain from a 3 quarts to 12 quarts. twice a day.
My personal opinion is to feed the mare and let colt wean naturally 😊but you do you 😊
