Slip is easier to make with bone dry clay as it soaks up the water faster and is easier to make into small pieces. In my ceramics class our teacher would literally just tell us to crush the bone dry clay into powder and put that into water
hi! you would add glaze, however when working with clay you need a kiln which is like a very hot oven. what you would do is make your peices and then you need to let it sit for like a week to dry up or a few days then you need to put it in a kiln to fire it once you have done that you need to glaze it which is what makes it shiny once you glaze tho it won’t look shiny until you fire it in a kiln again kilns can be expensive so maybe find a community center or something if your not in school
Heres a tip, to actuslly make lip you need to dry the clay out first, then crush it into small bits and add water, let it sit and boom slip. If you wsnt super strong slip add tiny bits of tissue to it
yes you need a kiln to fire the clay because if you just let it dry up it will be VERY fragile so you need a kiln and once you fire it if you want it to be glazed over add glaze but then fire it again!
what a deceitful video… fellow viewers, it takes alot more time for those chunks of clay to fully breakdown into the water and not just a watery grainy liquid
Slip, score, and smooth
I learned that in ceramics, I will never forget it even though I don't take ceramics anymore
Isn’t it score first? Idk. I took ceramics this past year so I should know this😅

What clay do you make from? The brand exactly
it's their own clay, the link to it is in their bio
這看起來是陶土,我不知道翻譯完你理解到的和我說的是不是一個東西,但大概就是做陶瓷的那個土,確實是一個很好用的材料
it also works w crayola
@user-yl7lf2tc2g they meant the clay brand

You mean like paper towel tissue?
Why would the clay *need* to be dry to start with, you’re just adding water back?
Slip is funky..., also I know what it is we use it in Art for pottery

Try vinegar, makes it more sticky!
Can you use the pottery fr
yayyy mud!!
in pottery class we literally fight over who gets to make slip while we have pots in the kilm 😭
I don’t use the paint brush to mix cause it can get dryed up if you don’t wash it properly I like to use a chopstick
Do you need a kiln

in my art class, we call it “clay glue” and have been calling it since nursery and preschool 😭😭
People who call it slurry 😊😊❤❤
In art class our slip was made of water mixed with clay that had already dried
I did this in art class
It’s also called slurry lol
