@@coreyw5981 I think it's a mix of both, in some live clips of vore it definitely seems like IV does the highs, so in the studio I think IV does them too, and the lows are vessel, it's just the highs are louder cuz it fits the black metal vibes I guess
@@MistyDrifter By took then under their wing I just mean taking Sleepy bois on tour with them. Unsure how they arranged it but I know Corey is a big fan of the band
Hearing those screams here, it makes me wish they hadn't distorted them at all on the album itself. They're so good. And the female backing vocals...just beautiful. Edit: though as folks said, the distortion on the album does aid in the vibe they're going for, so both versions have their strengths.
to me. the album version, granted the title of the song, being consumed and the pleasure of it, distorted sound could be reflecting the nature of being swallowed
I think it was a stylistic choice and that vessel has a difference kind of scream that needs to be enhanced to be fully heard. Hear it’s perfect IV and vessel kill it
The reason for the different sound in the screams is due to the lead guitarist doing some of the big scream parts during their live sets. Was front of stage and noticed it during the Australia tour. Vessel is definitely still hitting his notes but probably at a lesser volume to still be able to get the super cleans without damage night after night. You can see this during this song as well. They sound absolutely amazing regardless :)
Vocals sound way better live, at least for this song. Also, I love all the electronic elements II adds during the breaks. What a dream to witness this live
Just incase anyone was wondering if Vessel can nail those screams live - and oh my god, better than the album recording. IV is a boss also. Love the way they handle the 'fade out' at the end too - it's always interesting to see how bands do it live.
@@peggie69 dang, Comrade! I know they rely a lot on backing tracks for the instrumental parts (extra guitars, keys, vocal effects.... and even the dulcimer in this song) but I didn't realise that main screamed vocals would be on backing track too - you sure about that?

The other night I woke up soaked in sweat, as I had too many blankets on me. For some reason I instantly thought of how sweaty it gets at indoor shows like this, and then I thought how INSANELY HOT it must be to perform in those outfits/masks, with all those crazy lights and in that hot ass auditorium. I had been watching Sleep Token shows on YT prior to going to bed, obviously.
I love that vessel knows his voice and that he needs help with his screams. Reminds me of Oli Sykes and BMTH during the vocal surgery saga when he’d get Jordan to help him get through their shows because he was in pain.
Arena shows suck balls. Arenas are more often than not meant to funnel the music back down to the field/court causing extreme reverb. Even outdoor arenas. Pavilions, concert halls and festivals is what they deserve
They have one. On the 16th of December they’re playing wembley. Fucking wembley. 10,000 tickets sold out in a day. It’s a one off just now, but will lead to bigger and better things. I’m coming from scotland just to see it. Not sure where you’re from, but they’ll start doing arena gigs everywhere since this album has exploded them 🤘🏻

Ok, so Vessel can scream, I wonder if he's not used to tho, I feel like his voice fails a little after the screaming, then gets back to normal. Just wondering, not being salty!
I wish they had just ended this and Take me back to eden the same way. Just finish in a bar and not the fade it sounds so much better 😂. In time the fans will pick up. just vessel vessel's shrieks are much higher pitched than IV's, but also much quieter. might be due to technique as he's a relatively new shrieker, most of his live screams previously were false chord
Leo Faulkner is a talented vocalist, from screams like this to his opera vocals almost mezza soprano. Unique band and their nearly better live than on album.
do not like how the song just stops at the end they could have figured a way to finish the song rather to just stop all together. plus been noticing the past couple live shows on youtube vessel is just not being as energetic as he has been in the past just my observation
The hardest part about being a backing vocalist for ST would be standing completely still during a banger like this
backup singers: *hold my cloak*
IV's screams are insanely good
Only wish you could hear Vessels a little more but IV is just such a beast
