I just purchased small and medium grip tuth, these are absolute GAME CHANGERS. Still working to finesse for how I style my hair but miles better than Bobby pins
I second the Grip Tuth comb recommendation. They're fabulous AND they last a really long time. My first set, which I purchased many years ago, is still going strong with no breakages whatsoever. I use them all the time!
Just found your new channel! I followed your other channel for years, and when you stopped the channel, and told us about this one, I had trouble either finding or connecting to it. Totally forgot all this time 🙄 So glad I found you! Also, I love using side combs!
Thank you so much for the tutorial n explanations! Great examples! You were just lovely n straight to the points! I have a fascination with certain styles n eras n those are definitely it! I’d love to do the styles one day! I guess umm gotta get those type of combs lol! I always wondered how they did some of those styles! N love the flowers! Always love flowers in my hair when I do get to have fun with such things n fun hair accessories day or jazz the hair up a bit n add to it! Thank you! Love the crow too lol!
Very cool! I’m growing my hair out, it’s shoulder length now. It’s also straight and slick. The only way I’ve been able to do any kind of an up-do was with a claw clip. Not vintage and not all that attractive. I’ll give these a try! (PS:Your hair is really gorgeous 😍)
That looks like L'Oreal Elnett spray. I recently started using this (Amazon). I was using a different spray, but my store stopped carrying it. This hairspray is very close as far as being soft and a good "starting" spray for my hair. For updo's I like this type as well. Thank you for the lessons! I used combs a lot in high school (they weren't really cool then, but I didn't care). I love hair accessories. I just need to be more in tune with my age and abilities now.
Omg, thanks so much for the ideas!! I've sort of figured out how to do a couple of the styles using the combs on my own, but it's so nice to find someone close to my own age that has more ideas with hair similar to mine! You are so pretty with a sense of fashion. Thanks for sharing! By the way, what is your opinion about women in their 40's or older wearing whimsical/fun print fabric, tastefully of course. 😊
Thank you for this nice video! I like wear my hair in kitten-ears or in turned up swept- style but my hair is really thick and combs we have here in Finland in stores are quite stiff and tend to fall after a short while, now really have to search where I can purchase those combs, they seem to work really well 🤩
So I know this isn't your usual thing but I was recently gifted a banana clip and was wondering if you could do a video on how to use them? I cannot figure it out and it's always trying to just slide right out of my hair... (I have somewhat wavy but super fine hair...)
@@LadyInWaking 😆 fair enough! You prolly can't even buy them anymore... This one was from a friend who'd had it since the 80s but didn't know how to use it. Lol
When you insert the Comb do you flip it down or do you actually bend the whole come in ? I know it’s hard to explain let me know if you need me to elaborate thank you
I first saw you use these combs years ago on lisafremontstreet and just sort of filed the knowledge away for later, but now I really want to try them! Is that large comb you used in the color dark brown, or is it a lighter one? And are those dark smaller ones actually black or do they just look that way against your red hair? I'm trying to figure out what color to buy for my dark brown hair - basically choosing between noticeably lighter brown and straight up black, I guess - but having a hard time telling much about the shade of brown from pictures. Also, hearing you mention it made me curious: was the way you'd get that volume behind the ears in the 80s done in a similar way to the more voluminous 40s styles you demonstrated in the video, or more like taking a section of hair and shoving it forward with the comb to make it really stand out from the face? (If that makes sense visually, lol.)
In the 80s I would tease the bejesus out of my hair and press the sides back and secure with a comb so the section behind the comb stood straight out. Full on hair-bandl style is how it ended up. Lol The comb colors are usually either brown, black, or clear. I use al three.
Just wanted to pop back and tell anyone who might be wondering the same thing that black was absolutely the right choice for my dark brown hair! The dark brown color would have been way too light. (Also, these things are awesome. I need more practice with them, but they really do hold ridiculously well. Thanks for the rec, Ashely! :D)
How are these different than the Scunci hair Combs brand? It seems Scunci teeth are positioned just as tightly but they are less expensive than these. I'm wondering if the quality of the plastic, length of teeth? Anyone have an opinion?
Aww, I had a comment coming but an ad popped up and I lost it. 😮. My sis-in-law linked the Scunci ones to me after I linked these to her. I use these and I like them. I was that 80s young woman wearing hair combs all the time! Now I'm 61, ditched the dye, and have a long angled Bob and no bangs. When I let my hair be naturally curly, I pull the parted side back instead of tucking it behind my ear. I have the smallest size of these and just ordered the medium. Thank you for this video.

This is great for any age. So elegant.
The best hair combs ever
Grip tuth combs and curls are also great for creating faux-hawks.
I was just about to look up how to use these! Thanks for filming this 🙂

I have plenty of combs leftover from back in the day. Think I should take them out and play. Great ideas! Thanks.
That´s why I love my combs 😍They are so versaitle and they are a goodtool for me because I can´t handle victory rolls and stuff 😉

I adore rock tee shirts and novelty prints so maybe I’m not the one to ask. Lol
Or maybe you are the person to ask! 😁 Thanks so much for your reply!
Absolutely super ❤
I have 3 hair combs at home. I didn’t know how to use them. thank you

Grip Tuth teeth touch. The Scunci ones I had didn’t. If yours do they should work as well.
