I bought my first 1/4 oz last Wednesday before the drop. The drop on Friday motivated me to buy my first 1 oz coin. I feel really good about that. Unfortunately that was the last of my “back the truck up” money and I have to start saving again.
You will be happy with your purchase a year from now.

Regardless of price movement, I still try to think long term and dollar cost average. Quite simply I feel better when I have more precious metals as opposed to fiat currency sitting in the safe.

China paused their buying, i bought my first Ounce in the form of a Gold Eagle. I hope they keep pausing so that i can get more while the value of the Dollar still allows. Interesting news about the Saudi Arabia deal with ending the PetroDollar, that provides opportunity even as an American. You are right i had heard NOTHING about it until you brought it up and it's kind of important to say the least, not earth shattering but still very important. Great video, great information, Thanks.

honestly I enjoy prices being a bit lower as someone who only recently started getting into gold. Its simple. Price is lower: "Cool you can buy more." Prices are higher: "Cool what I already have is worth more now."
Gold isn't an INVESTMENT,it's an insurance policy and should be treated as such.

Wrong. It's one of the best investments long term, in the landscape of fiat currencies. For example, the 1970 average salary of $9,500 at $38.5 came as 244oz of gold. 2024 average salary is $63,000, at $2,300, that is 27 oz. 244oz today is worth $561,200 (average salary from 1970). As long as we are around fiat, which is subject to inflation, one that owns gold not only preserves the loss due to inflation tax, but also makes a killing in gaining the value.

I generally prefer silver with the higher ratios, but this weekend I picked up my first 1/4 ounce gold eagle. A significant drop in gold can't be ignored. It was beckoning to me to buy lol
Good choice as my LCS was the 2nd lowest price I could find. Find myself thinking I should have got a 1/2 instead. Probably fill a tube of both in time. I generally prefer halves or larger given premiums. But a large pullback made me feel better about the quarters.
I think it wise to have at least some fractional gold.

Dollar is not in trouble, that’s just FUD. The majority of major international banks have stated plans to at minimum, double their dollar holdings over the next two years.
I ignore "news," and buy regularly. I'm in it for the long haul.

It’s amazing that China was on an 18 month gold buying spree then they didn’t buy anything in May and yet the prices went up -ding ding ding. That’s a bull sound for gold and now that China is back in again, I can definitely see both metals going higher, silver and gold.
Is someone suggesting they’re buying again? They aren’t reporting, and I’ve only seen an analyst guess they will at a $2,200 price point.

Working on improving the quality of a subsection of the stack. In addition to the bullion I like the pre33 $20 Saints Gaudens. Trying to broaden the years & mints that I own & upgrade the quality to MS64 or better. I had some graded by NGC & the rest I am replacing with better ones.

Will Britannia or Maples or Buffalo 24 carat gold coins be ok (as in not really lose value even if they had a slight mark eventually...) if I were to buy some and instead of putting them in plastic and or using gloves I play with them as though I was a pirate, handle them while screaming gold! gold! , put them in a old timey money pouch of maybe a makeshift treasure chest etc? I want to buy some gold but want to know if it's safe to mess around with some of these coins a bit and not completely mess up their value:) Sorry if this offends any serious collectors and thank you in advance for your input.

Maples in particular are pretty easy to mark up. I tend to keep them in direct fit capsules because dealers will give a bit less for one in bad shape. You can see what I do, though. My gold is out of capsules a lot. Cheers!

Price kinda makes no difference to me. I'm a buyer of gold when the pullbacks happen. Don't really care why it rises or falls but would much rather see it fall in price. I love your analysis. Thank you for sharing with the community
I ain't been fooled by the price drop and believe gold prices will continue to climb. I don't have a specific goal amount in mind but, since stacking is a better savings ploy than having digits in the bank, I'll stick to the plan of buying when funds are available. One thing I have been considering is purchasing low-premium silver to trade up to gold somewhere down the line. We shall see.
I always liked your balanced approach to the financial noise we all hear everyday. It's easy to get caught up in the emotions but we need to be focused on what's urgent and important for each of our own situations. Never mind about the daily volatility in gold price. That is symptomatic of something else. The big event is the eventual reset when the USD loses its place as the world's dominant reserve and trade settlement currency. When the USD ceases to become money.
China said they "Paused " their gold buying to probably push prices lower, Not just gold but also to keep silver from going up also.

I have a 1/2, 1/4 and a 1/10 oz coming, then I may hold off for a couple weeks. I think it was JP Morgan said the next couple weeks will be hard for the stock markets
So might be better prices coming later this month, might be worse prices coming, and that is my prediction.
June 9th, even if true... does not mean they are dumping the dollar, because they are not.. They would still use dollars for Western nations who use dollars. AND,, there was not a renewal.. cause there was not a time limit, such as 50 years. They just decided to start using BRICS currencies for the nations use also use the same currencies.
