I tried the beta blockers propranolol and it was a very effective treatment, but I suffer from asthma and the discharge of phlegm from the lungs, which negatively affected lung health.. Are there natural supplements that are an alternative to the beta blockers propranolol that do not affect the phlegm and lungs?
There are no antidepressants that are effective for performance anxiety. For other anxiety disorders, the body can develop a tolerance to antidepressants. I like Zoloft out of all of the SSRIs.

It could be that you need higher doses for effectiveness. But the treatment for performance anxiety is exposure therapy and relaxation. Please visit with a therapist that is skilled at treating this, as medications for performance anxiety are not that effective over the long term.
Sandra you can also join a Toastmasters club in your area. It's basically a speech club where members practice giving different kinds of speeches. This practice will help desensitize you to performance anxiety. Propranolol is a godsend and eventually you might be able to lower the dosage until you don't need it. Kava kava (I recommend Gaia brand capsules - take two at once) herb is a great natural aid if you're not using propranolol.
