I’ve learned so much from your videos on growing an avocado tree I could not find info for keeping them small. Loved how you wired the plant. I have one on the lanai in morning sun and one inside. When they both started to grow I had to cut off the stem leaving only 6 inches. Then the buds appear. You’ve made my day. Aloha from Honolulu, Hawaï. Thanks
It looks great ‘growing freely’ … but, you can only let it go so long. Great series! I want to do this with an avacado, so I can take it with me if I ever have to move.
I didn’t think about that 😊. I remember trying to propagte an avocado cutting long ago, and I think it didn’t work for me that time. Maybe I should try again 🤔. Did you ever managed to get one growing?
@@NordicPlantLover None of my avocado trees survived long enough to warrant propagating :/ I've never seen anyone grow avocados from seed so well so you are clearly doing something right!
At what point did you first plant the pip. My first one was when the root was 3 inches but right now I have one that's got lost of roots growing and the sprout is just out of the top. I'm tempted to see how long I can keep it in just water
I plant them directly in the soil. Or germinate with wet paper towels in a box, and plant them as soon as the first root starts to grow. In my experience it is much better for the plant. It gets more nutrient, and doesn’t have to deal with the transplant shock :).

What fertilizer do you fertilize to produce a lot of leaves?
Every 2-3 days. During summer when its sunny/hot in the window i water every day. But it’s is much more sensitive when its in a pot like this, it dries out faster :).
@@NordicPlantLover hmm I haven't watered my indoor seedling in over a month. No signs of drought, but also no growth. Perhaps I should be watering more.
@@budstik hmm, it is recomended that you keep the soil slightly moist, it should never dry out completely. It will damage the leaves, sometimes they never recover fully after.
i'm a little skeptical whether this will end up being an attractive bonsai. i rather prefer trees with smaller leaves, the proportions of the avocatos are not so good between the size of the tree and the leaves, it is a bit like trying to make a bonsai out of a chestnut tree
Yeah, I see your point :). This is just a fun project tho, and it's not really meant to be a true bonsai miniature looking tree. But I really like the way it looks, and its fun to see how it develops :).
Awww you kissed it! So sweet
It’s my little baby 😍
Badass avocado bonsai
Shout out from Los Angeles CA
Thanks a lot!
This looks so cool… this is gonna be my next project. Greetings from Canada ;) 🍁

Thank you for the kind words. Hawaï looks so beautiful, I wish I could go there one day. Aloha from Sweden 😊
Wooww amazing... make bonsai from avocado tree. Nice, that's inspiring me to do this👍👍👍
Awesome 👌 💕🍃🌿☘🌴🌱🌲
Looks so beautiful. Thank u for share it. I hope you can have the most amazing avokado bonsai ever♥️♥️
Thank you! I will soon do a big spring pruning, it has been growing out of control 😅
Uppskattar dina videos sååå mycket.
Jag är glad att du gillar dom :)
Good day, nice bonsai
Thank you. Good day to you too :)

Thank you :).
cute avacado!
Thanks! 😊
@@NordicPlantLover I like following the avalado bonsai, and the other plant projects you come up with. Thanks for sharing your love of plants
Thank you so much for the kind words, and for watching 😊
That was a really nice looking cutting! You can try propagating it or even grafting it next time maybe.

I'm working on a similar project, starting from seed, long journey
Yeah, it is. But fun when you see the results 😊. Good luck!
I put a seed in water with toothpicks over a week ago. I noticed today that it is starting to crack open. 😊😊
Nice! Good luck with it. Are you planning to Bonsai it or grow it normally?
@@NordicPlantLover Normal. I will Bonsai the second seed I get 😊😊
How’s it going? I’m so invested :)
It’s going really good. New video is coming up in a few weeks :)

Normally I just use enriched potting soil. But if I wanna give a little extra boost, I add fertilizing sticks that last 3 months (for green plants)
@@NordicPlantLover THANK YOU!

I think it looks amaze balls!
I hope a leaf size reduction happens
