  • On June 30th, 2022, director Peter Sellars sat down with OPERA America's President/CEO Marc A. Scorca for a conversation about opera and their life.
    Stage director Peter Sellars has gained international renown for his groundbreaking interpretations of classics, advocacy of 20th-century and contemporary music, and collaborative projects with an extraordinary range of creative and performing artists. His productions have appeared at companies including Dutch National Opera, English National Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and San Francisco Opera. Sellars has collaborated on the creation of many works with composer John Adams, including Nixon in China, The Death of Klinghoffer, and Doctor Atomic.

    I was a little disappointed that you didn't mention herpetology (and, particularly, a certain yellow rat snake named "Eat 'em All"), as an early influence in your life, while attending St. Edmund's Academy. "We sing forth thy praise!"
