Please dont kill me! That i don't think Chara is that nice!

Okay this comment is pretty funny!
However the reason i made the video is because currentlx the fanon is: chara did nothing wrong (or almost nothing but you get my point)

Eventho my last ut/dr performed really well so i tried out a diffrent title!

Idk, the only really damning evidence I can really take in a consideration is Toriel's line "Not you, but them!", because Toriel is (allegedly) unaware of player's existence. But even here, I might add that narrachara theory is definetly true at least for geno run, and narrator is silent in fight afainst both Toriel and Asgore, even though the narration is present in normal routes. It makes me assume that even desensitized and having high LOVE, Chara still has really hard feelings about fighting Dreemurrs.
Everything else can be argued pretty easily.
Chara being flawed and Asriel's disappointment are still pretty normal if you consider that Chara was neutral instead of evil: Asriel had a bit too nice perception of them. When the ideal is broken, the disappointment is natural, and Asriel did idealise Chara until the ending.
As for the murders, all of them are made by player and player only: that includes Toriel, Asgore, every other monster, even Flowey.
I should add that Chara is actually evil in Genocide run, taking player's actions as an example to follow. But in my humble opinion, Chara is (almost) always present in every route.
And to support my claims, here is the list of what Chara did:
- kill themselves (failing)
- have an unhealthy attraction to sharp objects (like knives or Toriel's tools in Ruins)
- want to free the monsters
- (and becoming whole kingdom's hope)
- use laugh as coping mechanism
- get shocked by poisoning their adoptive dad
- kill themselves (successfully)
- try to attack humans
- come back to life
- have combat stats instead of Frisk, which I have no idea how to explain
Here is what Chara might do depending on player's actions:
- narrate in first person
- become actually evil through apathy
- see everyone just as EXP
- replace the player
- arguably participate in fights (though the final choice, especially with killing or sparing, still remains on player's shoulders)
- destroy the whole game world
- begin striving for power made by violence and used for destruction
- say you have perverted sentimentality if you do the genocide again
- replace Frisk in True Pacifist ending if you gave them your soul
And lastly, what Chara did NOT do:
- try to kill any of Dreemurrs
- kill anyone before their own death, for that matter
- have bloodlust (e.g. perverted sentimentality)
- genocide route
In my opinion, Chara is heavily influenced by the player. And to support it, Chara does actually say something about it, but I cannot exactly remember what.
I think that opinion about Chara has changed as its primary fanbase grew up. I was 12 when the game was released, and I have changed my opinion on its story a lot of times, but I only finished the game really recently.
For the game about forgiveness and understanding, its fanbase puts too much blame on the kid who might have been imperfect but the only person they actually killed was themselves. Maybe because they want to shift the blame for doing the genocide.
You just listed basically the fandoms new xhara characterization which im mostly aware of!
Again as i stated in the video new chara could be true but so could old chara!
However silence can also be a sign of hate/ disapointment which checks out because chara never insults!
Also the player has to press the fight button for their kill to be held agaonst them!
I will say.
Asriel/Flowey treated Chara as like, perfect? Like they listened to them and Flowey basically follows some aspects on their philosphy and stuff? So the admission that Chara wasn't the greatest person is actually significant regardless?
Chara didn't intend to poison Asgore, I believe this solely because they wouldn't fail if they attempted that. If they intended to end asgore, they'd just finnish him off while he was weak or something. A dismissive laugh is probably more likely, rather than a evil laugh.
In the Geno Case, Chara does have reasons to dislike toriel and Asgore. On Geno they realise their ""True purpose"" and anyone who gets in their way is just an obstacle.
Also, Pretty sure Chara undergoes develepment on pacifist during the asriel fight, if narrachara is true. So a pacifist chara wouldn't be as evil?
Thats actually a lot of good points! Yeah true if chara wouldve intended to kill asgore with the buttercups ...

also chara had to be the one who gave asriel that memories since it from their perspective
@@calebdemosthene284 I mean, I've seen some counter arguments to that so I didn't bring it up.
Chara does show other signs of developing thoughout the game and during the Asriel Fight which I feel is more reliable.
