Wow what a great job for someone who has never renovated an old caravan. You should be very proud of your progress so far. Keep it up. Can’t wait for the next instalment.
I don’t generally like build videos either because most people try & make out everything is perfect all the time. I love that Jack & Megan keep it real & show the mistakes that a lot of us would probably make as well. 😂
I'm a fixing carpenter and i can tell you fitting panels is ALWAYS trial and error!! You just hope for more trial then error :) You guys did really well!!
A trick we use when fitting panels into boats is to rip up some thin customwood into 50 or 60mm wide strips, them make up full size patterns of the area that you are covering. you can set out all openings and where lights and other fitting go at the same time. We use a hot glue gun to glue the strips together.
If not already commented, i think most water lines run under the van and clamped with saddles. However too late for now but if you do encouter water leaks, easy enough to re route under the van. Keep rocking you guys.😊
I think you're doing a bloody great job, don't compare to yourselves others. As a perfectionist myself i understand the pressures of doing things yourself but you will always be proud of whatever you achieve in the end. Well done guys.
You’re both doing such an amazing job!! You should be so proud of how much you have accomplished with no prior experience! And it will be so so worth it 😍
Ceiling looks great. Id be a little concerned of your water pipes theough the aluminium chanel, over time, and vibration theres a good chance they will rub through and youll have a leak in a potentially hard place to repair. Might be better to drill bigger and put some.rubber grommets in theb run the pipe theough the grommets. What hot water system are you installing? If gas they need vents on the outside but I'm sure you know that.
You guys are doing an amazing job - so much research must be happening behind the scenes! And great work with the video edit - just keeps getting better!
This series is so entertaining, I love your layed back attitude, however behind the scenes there is a lot of cross words.😅. A small thank you on the way. When I saw the notification pop up had to stop working on my van to watch you.
Aww thanks so much Gavin! It usually takes us until the video is edited to look back and feel proud of what we've achieved for the week. Hopefully we can get better at feeling it in the moment 😅
Wow the job you both under took has turned out bloody awesome, you’ve learnt so much , hats off for even taking on a project like this when you’ve never done it before, you’re making a great job. Be kind to yourselves. Great video. Cheers Judy
You are both simply wonderful. Your work looks great. Don't worry about how often you are posting videos; I am notified when they come out. Your videos are so good that I do wait with bated breath to see them.
Haha wall week reminded me of when we did our walls… all the same problems, all the same frustrations! All worth it though… don’t get discouraged. Can’t wait to see the finished product, and looking forward to running into you on the road somewhere
I get comfortably is everything but its good to see someone doing this where its still cheapish, and light enough still to tow otherwise it defeats the purpose of a caravan not making a full on cabin style 👍
Hi my best friend has a motor home around 8 years old and the Perth summer heater has his wall and ceiling ply coming away, the glue is letting go. He has tried putting a fan inside but it not working. I would put as many rivets in the walls and ceiling in particular as I could. As long as they are in a straight line they will look ok. If you do some off road trips the vibrations could make the panels let go. We own an Explorex ( Perth built ) caravan and it has rivets everywhere and we did the Gibb no problems.
Great work! Some suggestions before its too late: - hot water in the kitchen is a god send - hot and cold outlets outside the rear wall for external shower - external cold water tap for hosing the van, car, Megan etc.. I've also added external lights on all 4 sides which are great security of a night and for night time activities. A couple of external Anderson plugs are also handy for showers, tyre air pump, fridges etc... Fill point for water tank? Grey water tank? Any thoughts on a TV antenna / starlink connection? 🤠
Hey Jack and Megan hope you both are well! I'm absolutely loving watching your build series you both are absolutely nailing it! Well done to you both, you should be super proud of yourselves! Cheers.
So good to watch this as you are real and not just showing all of us the real life with these vids and not just the best or favourite parts of reno of an old caravan! And im renovating one into avtiny homecso this is giving mevawesome ideas! So thxheaos and really look forward to next week! Phil
Corrugated 🤙🏼 done well guys, smashing through it. Scribing sheets is tricky work and thats coming from a builder. Well done guys, i bet your hanging to move in already and get on the road 😊
Hey guyz been following ur caravan rebuild, u guyz r doin an awesome job. We all make mistakes, but we learn from that. Will come up great, n will give u great satisfaction at the end. Neways keep goin. Lookin forward to ur next video.
Well done to both of you!!! This type of panel work is not straight forward and needs to be done right. So slow and steady wins the race! And it's better and more economical than needing to do the job twice! Keep up the good workpersonship!!!
Just recently found your channel. But love watching fellow Western Australians. My round trip to Perth for a day trip is about 5 hrs. It’s fun when you say it’s a 3 hr round trip to Bunnings. Keep it up guys love your work.
Hot tip.. holesaw slightly to small? Once you've cut the hole just put the holesaw on an angle and go again. Will make it slightly oval but will make it touch bigger. Works well to allow space for the spring clips to.
Have a look at the CMS cabling for your 240v it's all plug and play (no electrician) with the exception of the RCD which is required to be hard wired Most caravan manufacturers use it now so their non electrician guys can run the cables
Hi currently renovating a 1960 back yard built caravan (thought it was a Franklin until I took the walls off ) doing the walls at the moment nothing is square took each panel out about 50 times to get them sitting right, I feel your pain 😫
Oh no, you even had me calling it corrugations, I forgot the word for a second for the conduit haha You've certainly managed to make this an interesting series. This caravan is coming along really well! Edited perfectly, had a giggle at the split-second modem noise as Jack was putting his sentence together.. No horror-movie Merv sound effect though 🥲cracks me up every time.
Hahaha Jack was saying hey we didn't have a Merv jump scare in this one, we'll have to make sure he makes an appearance in the next one 🤣 So stoked to hear you're enjoying the series Terran 🥰
Hi guys loving your build your inspiring us to finish our vintage caravan. Man the fights I have with my partner over our caravan. I'm in Western Australia too I love watching you guys.where did you buy your pre painted ply from. Cheers guys we need to catch up to you guys keep it up your doing a great job
Wow what a great job for someone who has never renovated an old caravan. You should be very proud of your progress so far. Keep it up. Can’t wait for the next instalment.

So entertaining . You guys crack me up. I don’t usually like watching build series but you two are doing such a great job. It’s looking really good.
I don’t generally like build videos either because most people try & make out everything is perfect all the time. I love that Jack & Megan keep it real & show the mistakes that a lot of us would probably make as well. 😂
So great to hear Joanne! Appreciate it 🙏👍
Those cold water pipes look like they'll rub through over time without grommets 😢

Little tip - put little red clips in the John Guest fittings. Stops them from coming apart
I got a whole heap of them 😉
You should be very proud of yourselfs as its not an easy job. Keep up the good work.😊
Doing an awesome job. Myrtle is coming along nicely.
Thanks for watching!!

Thanks mate! It’s coming along nicely hey!
Good progress guys! Just remember you can only learn by giving it a crack

Sparky here , it’s called “corro” ( short for corrugated conduit ). Love your work
At least you don’t have to take the window frames out only the windows out of the frames. You can also still get the flatscreens for your windows
Ceiling looks great guys - keep up the great work
Thanks Mick! 🙏🏼

20 years of practice in the building industry measuring and cutting things right the first time is an advantage some of us old buggers have I guess.
Top effects 🏆
Looks amazing. You guys should be so proud of yourself 🤩🥳
Ceiling looks great!!
Good effort guys! Keep up the hard work and you'll be done before you know it.

Great job guys.
Thanks! Another enjoyable video! Be proud! You’re doing an excellent job!
Great job! Just hope the glue you used holds up under those hot days. Keep some rivets handy.
Will definitely have some rivets handy in the van!
Hot tip.. holesaw slightly to small? Once you've cut the hole just put the holesaw on an angle and go again. Will make it slightly oval but will make it touch bigger. Works well to allow space for the spring clips to.
If you make a mistake with permanent marker, spray a bit of insect repellant on there and it will wipe right off
Very interesting
The modem dialing sound when Jack was thinking was gold 😂
🤣🤣 I had a good chuckle at that while editing it too haha
Yay...celebrate 🎉🎉🎉🎉
bloody awsome work
Cheers Greg! 🥰🥰

Awesome job guys, but you really should have used grommets on your water pipes. As a plumber I would have used them for sure.
