I like how Alex Rider is so strong willed that he doesn't give in to the bad guy's temptations. Pretty much shows just what a great spy he is so dont underestimate him thinking he's just a boy.

@JimmyJab Then you have not read the books which the series is based on. The movie was bad it cramed to much plot elements from the other books and Pettyfer is a terrible actor.

How much dialogue is lifted from the book in this scene?
Actually as far as I remember, this scene wasn't in any of the books. This scene essentially replaces Alex Rider's training with the SAS in Scotland if I remember correctly from Book 1/Stormbreaker. Since that's not really believable anymore, nor was there a need to train Alex like that, they simply tested how he would hold up under interrogation and if he would crack so they knew he wouldn't reveal Special Operations if caught. whats cool though is the SAS squad testing him is the squad he trains with in the book, and members do occasionally pop up in the future to help out from time to time.

Probably because some of the books are like fillers and don’t really add to the main plotline. For the show, they can go along with the Scorpia plot without dragging it on for too long

You've taught to hate a movie/show if its diffirent from the books. The changes made don't change the core of the story, the girl is only dosen't have an effect on the over arching plot, only adds to how he can no longer have a normal life. As a fan of the books, I liked this
