  • High Park is Toronto largest park. It is located on the west end of Toronto. There are a few access points to the park. If you plan on walking through the entire park, I would take the subway to High Park station and enter off Bloor St. Personally I find the top of the park more for gatherings and not for exploring. Most of the video was filmed from the middle of the park down.
I would recommend taking the College Street car right into the park. It enters around the top third section and then explore from there.
You can also take the King Streetcar to High Park Blvd, but it is a bit of a walk from the stop to the park, but that is around the middle of the park.
Finally, you can take the Queen Streetcar to Colborne Lodge and enter the park at the bottom. But then you are walking uphill. This may be a good place to exit the park.
We started our day by having lunch at the Grenadier Cafe. There is quick serve and a sit down restaurant. There are also a few other quick serve areas around the park. This cafe is air conditioned, so a great place to stop on a hot summer day.
From there we wandered over to Grenadier pond and journeyed along the pond. We went up and then journeyed back along the hill, back to the restaurant where we had parked. Since we had a car, we drove over to the High Park Zoo.
Things to know: There are no cars allowed in High Park over the weekend. There is a fabulous children's playground by the zoo. And there is a zoo. You won't find any exotic animals, but it is still fun to visit. There is also a train that circles the park. You can take this to get to the zoo without having to walk.
If you are visiting the park I would recommend at least a few hours. There is a lot of walking, including some hills and stairs (which can be avoided). You can bring a picnic lunch or buy food at one of the cafes.
In the Spring you can find Cherry Blossoms and in the fall the park is beautiful with the fall leaves.
