I am leaving this comment for anyone who found this video and couldn't get it to work. This was the video google gave me when searching how to do this but for me it didn't work at all...but that's because there was an extra step. Depending on the kind of garage door (The actual one on your garage ceiling not the remote) you may have this extra step as well. After preforming all the steps the man in this video did you'll need to then go into your garage and press the "Smart Learn" button on your Garage Door Opener. After doing that you can go back to your car to hold down the button you are trying to sync. You should see your lights on the Garage Door Opener Flash. NOW your Homelink should work properly.
Thank you. I just programmed my wife’s Rogue after watching this video. I was a dummy and forgot to turn the car on at first. Lol. With the car running and going through the exact motions you demonstrated I programmed the remote in less than a couple minutes.
I got the garage door opener to work great without any problem now I want to be able to do the same with our security gate how is this done without taking the garage door function put
after programming the garage door button on the mirror. do I still need the original garage door remote in the car ? or can it be removed from the car?

Does the engine have to be on to setup the garage door opener? Also, will the garage door open if someone breaks into your car if you park outside on the driveway occasionally?
you might as well turn the car on and sync your garage door but I am sure you can do it in accessory mode. and depending on how far you are from your garage door it most like will open from the street
I was able to sync the mirror to unit. But my remote clicker that I had in car will not work. I used it in the garage to open when I go outside. Now I have to go in car to open door🤷♀️
I don't like the idea that my nissan Titan can open my garage even when the key is not around. I find it a terrible security risk. My neighbor got his garage cleaned. He left his car outside and they got into the car, to get to his garage. 7k latter in stolen tools and snow blower. It should only work when the key is in the vehicle.
I can't get a red light to come on at all. There is just the green light on the left. It goes from flashing green to solid green when i hold the 2 buttons down. The light on the right side never lights up at all
All my other vehicles program without a need for a working satellite remote. It’s really simple. Put Garage opener in learn mode. Then depress car button you want to program. Within 2 seconds you get instant operating opener. However, this process does not work on Nissan Titan and homelink. A complete pos complexity.

How do you sink an 21 SR kicks? I don’t have this type of mirror. My buttons are underneath the mirror.

Totally shocked! My new Nissan Rogue 2023 has no garage door opener!!! My 2016 had them on the mirror.
