How To Install Subaru Impreza WRX STI TMIC Easily In Just 2 Minutes

I searched youtube for a video showing how to easily install the TMIC on a Subaru WRX/STI. Never really found anything worth while. So I worked on it myself and found a very easy trick to installing the TMIC.
Watch the Vid, in 2 minutes the TMIC is on and secure. It took longer to video it than it did actually do the install. No fighting, no forcing it, no rubbing ups against the AC lines, no damage to the fins, etc. Just sweet and easy. :-)

wtf. this guy is a legend. I almost died trying to get the TMIC off and on last night. Literally took me 10 mins to try to get it back on.

worked like a charm on my 06 FXT with a long flat head and some persuasion. top tip though instead of completely removing the hose clamp to the turbo just loosen it and slide it up and out if the way. putting the clamp back on while the hoses are attached took forever, there is very little room between the intercooler, turbo and engine.

hey were you able to install the larger STI intercooler (vs stock XT IC) on the Foz like this? I'm concerned the clearance isn't there without taking other stuff off. I can remove/install the stock intercooler in my sleep by now.

Standard 1/4" drive rachet extension, about 15" long. Any good tool vendor will have them.

Everyone: what about the clamp 😂do you replace the recirculation valve gasket every time you pull the innercooler

I have reused the OEM clamp for 15+ years. Same gasket too. As long as it's not torn or damaged in any way, just reuse it.
