    hi Danni,
    I have 4 mini phals and 2 of them are not blooming at all (2 have bloomed and 2 not at all), I have then repotted last year (sept-oct 2023), what do you think is the issue here?
    thanks for your videos

    Hi Danni.. thank you for your amazing knowledge that you share with us!
    My question is: I have a Phal. Orchid that I bought with sick roots. They all eventually died shortly after the flowers all did. I left the flower spike on ( I know, big mistake) to hold it up, and lo and behold it grew keikis instead. It’s been about a month, and I still don’t see roots on either mother or babies. Do I just wait it out?

    Hi Danny, wondering if you can talk about how long it takes a severely dehydrated phal or a rootless phal to return to normal. I have one that someone gave me to revive. It has been 5 months and there is some new root growth but I didn’t know it would take this long. Is that normal?

    Hi Dani - a while ago you showed us how you water your orchids. I've had orchids for years and that was a huge revelation as well as a huge time saver! Previously, I soaked each orchid using lots of RO water and fertilizer. Now I give each orchid a little drink. However, an hour later, i checked for standing water. Half had a some standing water. Do you check your pots for standing water? This concerns me because I've lost many, many orchids due to root rot. My orchid roots don't look at all like yours, maybe this new way of watering will help. Do you mist your aerial roots? Thank you. I think you're great!

    Hi Danni, I just happen to have a question, so I guess I am in the Right video this morning.? My questions are about the cabinets you have your Orchids in; what are they, where do you get them from, and what kind of lighting system are you using? I am getting back into orchids after I have been out of them for 20 years; it's time to get back in. Thank you, Ziggie-an older guy from the USA.

    How can I make a mini phalaenopsis flower? For the last 2 winters I've cooled it to 18⁰, 17⁰, then for a month 15⁰ C. It has room to produce flower stems. It is fertilised. What am I doing wrong?

    How can I stop my Cattleya Chantily Lace 'Twinkle' from producing accordeon leaves? The last 3 pseudobulbs all had this problem. I just water it when it's dry. The roots are very prone to rotting, but now it has a few healthy roots.

    Hey Dany,
    I have a phalaenopsis orchid that has been struggling for the past two years. I have repotted it a few times, I tried bark chips, a mix of bark and sphagnum moss at different levels but everytime I have had to go back because the roots were dying. Hence the orchid has often been dehydrated and hasn't flowered in a while.
    I recently decided to put it in water, without any type of medium, and she has been getting better.
    Do you think some orchid, due to their genetics maybe, are more suited to grow immersed in water? Or is it temporary and I should keep a close eye on it ?
    Thank you so much in advance. :)

    Question: I´m gonna travel in July for one month, which is the warmest month in a year. What should I do to my dear orchids, when I´m away? Is there anything I can do, instead of asking other people who knows nothing about orchid to come and water them? I´m using clay pots with a hole at the bottome for all my orchids. Should I report them to be somewhere else?

    You can root a reed orchid from a cutting of the stem. Best case is when that stem has a node with a root already

    Hi Dani,
    I've been a subscriber of yours for years Sadly not enough time to watch h all the videos. Thanks for the Q&A as it is one video with lots of information so yes I love this idea.
    I have questions
    1 Do we have to use warn water? I have 1 Pheladondren Orchid (not sure if spelling is correct) with my newly mini orchid I just got. First orchid is like 5 years old never bloomed. needs fertilizer on its way from RePotMe thanks. This one was watered all 3 ways in those 5 years.I've seen no difference even with the ice in the beginning. What do you do?
    2 Is there a place that ships other Orchids not sold in stores? I have everything shipped to me Thanks
    3 Do these Orchids need transplanted every year and if so is it only in the fall? Is that correct? My first one hasn't been transplanted in 5 years. I'm totally new to Orchids but he's still alive and I want to branch out.
    I've grown everything else vegetables and flowers inside and outside. Thanks for your help in advance Keep doing what you're doing it's been so beneficial to me.
    Take Care Sheila

    Is it possible to propagate phals from a cutting of flower spike after flowers fall off?? I know you said no to leaves but recently saw video showing cutting spike keeping 2 nodes, putting bottom one in water...???

    • @katearnold7127
      @katearnold7127 5 місяців тому

      She's addressed this before but basically she said that although the separated spike may produce a kaiki, the liklihood of that kaiki surviving without a mother plant is very very low.

    • @katearnold7127
      @katearnold7127 5 місяців тому

      If you want more plants you should try kaiki paste or however it's spelt, you put it on the nodes of the spike after it blooms and before the spike dies off and it might grow a kaiki. You keep the kaiki and spike on the plant until it grows many roots.

    HI Danni! I hope all is well! Thank you so much for this information. I have a Phal. FANGtastic Madeline Earl Cotton Candy which formed a Terminal Spike which also bloomed, someone told me that hopefully it will give me Keiki so that it will live on. I dont know what a Keiki looks like. Can you please talk about terminal spikes and Keiki why they form and what to look for. Should I be worried because it formed a terminal spike? Hi Danny! I love your videos very much! I had an idea to grow terrestrial orchids (still haven’t decided which ones) in a flower bed at my balcony. I live in Greece, the weather is temperate and the flower bed I’m thinking about has direct sunlight all day long. In summertime I use canopy to shield it from the sunlight. Do you find it doable? Which orchids would be appropriate for that? Thank you very much for all the information you share with us!

    Hi Danny,
    Thank you for all the great videos! I have a few questions, but I'll start with one since it is quite long.
    I've had my Phal. Liu's Triprince "KU" since the beginning of 2023. She came with flowers in the box and looked amazing. Now she looks sad, doesn't want to grow new leaves, and keeps trying to bloom. She's putting out a flower spike for the fifth time since I've had her but the buds keep blasting and I just want her to focus on her leaves. So I cut the last flower spikes while they were growing.
    How can I stop her trying to bloom?
    I'm in the Netherlands and she is in a cabinet with barrinas (they are on from 9 to 9). The day time temp is about 24C (in late March). At night it is around 18C. She is pest free as far as I can see and roots are okay.
    Hopefully you can answer this! Thanks!

    Hello! I have a Phal venosa with about 7 leaves. The leaves are getting bigger, but no new leaves are coming. Do i have to wait until it spikes before it goes back into "growth" mode to get new leaves, or do I have to wait until the older leaves finally die off to get more? Is there a max amount of leaves Phals can get? OR, lol, is my only option to just be more patient?
