22:50 (09:40 EDT) 🚂 Didn't Realize You Could Get Such A Neat Shot From That Position With Your Cam Through The Trees. Glad You Shared / Uploaded This So Glad I Found It !
Upload the video of them in Strasburg in Friday September 27th during their photo ops too! I also made an appearance on the live camera giving 611 an affectionate pat on the skirt!
Technical query - watching 611 depart (beautiful lady BTW), I couldn't see a connection to the first pair of 8 'driving' wheels. The piston seemed to be connected directly to pair 2, then subsequently to pairs 3 and 4. Anyone explain?
Already stated they are there concerning the coupling rods, but you'll most likely see a steam locomotive with two or more driver "pairs" where the connecting rods are attached to the second set and coupling rods to any others. Smaller driver diameter (these are mountain locomotives, by the way) plays a role on both locomotives and the coupling rod to the first set is somewhat hidden by the connecting rod.
wow!! sum th 'n' u don't see very often,...but it happ 'n's' anyhow,.........u bet the locomotion is there ready 'n' able,......cowboy days only the horses R miss 'n', hahaha,......better yet,... Jesse James 4 that matter hahaha,...american outlaw!!!
Nice to see a railroad (private or otherwise), putting on a special for rail(steam) enthusiasts! Wish there was more of that here in UK.
Would love to see 611 pull a revenue freight before she goes back to Roanoke!
Though there might not be any more room in Strasburg for more freight….
I loved every minute of this video thanks for sharing.. the comments are priceless if the two locomotives could talk.

So Glad I Found It !
I was thinking, boy those people are barely walking. Thanks for speeding it up.
Fantastic to watch!
Beautiful setting for 2 beautiful trains
I wonder if the pictures taken will be posted where we can see them
I'll be there this Saturday. See you there!
Awesome!
Don't think I've ever seen one that clean and shiny.... Nicely done y'all. And thanks for sharing it with us 🌞
How FUN would it be to work on that Train today ? Probably NO shortage of volunteers. Horn sounded Tired. 😬
The horn was from the passing Amtrak Keystone corridor train, not the steam locomotives.

Would Union Pacifics steam locomotives be able to run at Strasbourg? Like the BIG Boy or Northern?
Keep 611 fired up
Bad assery at it's finest
611 timeless
It will be back in Spencer November. (sigh)
😀😀Super🇮🇳 Video👍👍👍

If you watch closely you'll see coupling rods between the connecting rod and the wheels. (Same arrangement on 475 btw.)

Why is the picture all scrambeled???????
Bet the chat went insane lol
Too bad the Amtrak couldn't stop for a moment to join the photo op!
please save this video
