V6 turbo that beats the crap out of 4 banger in Tacoma .
Yes the 2.7 is the one to get.
I just bought a 2.3L ecoboost Lariat trim; excellent truck. I'm almost finished with the break-in period for towing a 2,000 lb travel trailer (1600 kns or 1000 miles). Highest fuel economy has been 32mpg (Canadian). Very comfortable seats with lots of adjustments. Looking forward for taking it off-roading this winter in New Mexico, Arizona & California.
Depends on what you're doing with the truck!!! Regardless of engine size, get the XL if you're concerned about "bang for your buck".
So you talked about acceleration, handling, suspension, and technology. Is this a sports car or a truck? How much work can this thing do? 5 ft bed. Is the payload about 1400lbs. Tow rating probably in the mid 5000s. You drove it in a suit. You could get a much nicer explorer for the money. I believe you can even get it on the same platform. So all the ride and acceleration would be similar. Just more room on the inside and as small as that bed is anyway. You could just fold down the seats.
Get the 3.0 liter
Why can’t everyone just say it’s the 2nd best (obviously behind the Ranger Raptor)? It’s a little annoying as I keep hearing that the 2.7 is “the one”… yeah, when compared to the 2.3… but if we all had the 3.0 Raptor (at or below MSRP)… this would be the first choice.
For 30k difference, the 2.7l is the one. Here we can get the Raptor at msrp but it's still a lot of money. For those with a lot of money the Raptor is totally the one to get.
Agreed. Ive just done the ProCal tune for my RR and it’s one of the funnest vehicles Ive driven in a long time. The fox suspension is nice plus front/rear lockers. Truck is a home run.
Thanks for posting the video content.
Similar to Johnny’s sentiment, most folks are going to buy XL, XLT, Lariat.
Of the 2 engine options on those, 2.7 is the choice. We add enjoying our 2.7 cactus grey XLT FX4
The GM 2.7 has similar power output, simpler, and inherently more robust design with 5 main bearings.
The V6 has had many issues in Australia. The 4 cylinder is providing to be much more reliable.
They don't have the same engines as us. The V6 is a turbo DIESEL as is the 2.0l DIESEL 4 cylinder.
2.3 or 2.7?
2.7
Thanks for the content! I’ve been searching for 2.7l content and it just hasn’t been available. I appreciate what you are doing and you actually helped me with my selections. The 2.7l Lariat I ordered was delivered last week.
@@mikeburton8426 delivered? I ordered mine in July and it’s being built literally tomorrow. I’m hoping to get it before Christmas. How you get yours so fast or are you telling a fib? Post a video! Let’s see that 2.7!! I’m gonna post videos on mine right when I get it. ✌🏼
@@billygames7107 hey Billy, I work at Michigan Assembly in Wayne Michigan and I’m glad to be apart of building your Ranger! Hope you get it soon!
@@carlson2012abqb if that is true, thanks so much! It’s a white XLT with a 2.7 scheduled for tomorrow. Build it good! Cheers..✌🏼
I dont want them right handed vehicles. Either that or your camera is putting you on that side...lol
