Yes I agree, that is a friend of mines car and it is just unreal. I will show more of it in my next video coming out but he races with a group of guys that all run 8.50 second quarter miles while doing a wheelie to start off with. That car is dialed in nice like.
@@tomeighty My 67 is a street car, runs 10.80s…. But I have a 66 Nova to, N/A big block, my best 1/4 mile is 8.52 157mph. Would love to race this guy sometime👍👍👍
LS George! This is something for you!! I dont understand why they enter a wheelie competition with wheeliebars, its like trying to make icecram on the surface of the sun
Thank you, I really appreciate that 👍 Did you think the beginning was ok or was there too much talking? I try to keep it to a minimum to just explain what is going on for people that don't have a clue that there is even such a thing as a wheelie contest out there.
@@tomeighty Hi, the narrative is good,no problem there. Going over the cars in the pits Is great. I LOVED seeing the aftermath of a destructive run, the shot of the guy pulling ring gear teeth out of the diff was gold.
really look forward to these. even overseas watching your coverage the past few years i pull for some and know some cars are going to full send a wheelstand even if they put it on their lid.
Thanks for the coverage as always Tom! I keep waiting for Anbrosini to pull off one of his insane wheelies but not this year. Guessing his spending more of his time on his Promod Gremmie these days?
Thank you for watching! The event is held at Byron Dragway in Byron, Illinois. Usually is the first weekend of October, lock in Sunday October 1st this year and make it out there.
Thanks for the sub and that's awesome you were at the event! I've been going every year since 2012... it truly is one of my favorite events to goto every year. I tell everyone that they need to goto this event.
I do believe the car that won is the same car that two or three years ago flipped it over the rail and rolled that car like 10 and 20 times looks pretty good that he built it back up
Some guys enter it to just be part of the show, they know they won't win it but they all can at least do a wheelie. With that being said some of the guys change the tunes up drastically at the last minute to do a better wheelie and then it runs just horrible. So testing is really your friend in a situation like that but as you know it is hard to test something that can tear your car apart if things go wrong. So I have a lot of respect for anything going out there and trying it, I just love it as a fan. Thanks for watching and the good comment. Tom
Nope, not rude at all. It is almost like there are two classes of cars in the contest, one that is trying to win and the other is just happy to be there. ha ha. Have a great day! Tom
Why do they do so much unnecessary damage to nice cars. A good launch and it carries out there and ease's on down, but to ruin the steering and suspension and oil pan sorry don't get it
🤔 Seems like several of these contestants were having more difficulty here than in previous years. I'm pretty sure the Gremlin guy dominated this event one or more years, and his Gremlin would pull the front wheels almost straight up, probably 70°! But he and several others didn't seem able to get the tires up high, or keep them up this year. 🤔 Also, it's strange that there's not LOTS more Fords involved in this. After all, stock Ford cars make so much power that it's possible to flip them over backwards just by giving them slightly too much throttle at stoplights when out picking up groceries! Of course that means Fords have a major natural advantage over GM, Mopar and AMC cars, which require the addition of expensive aftermarket performance parts & power adders just to keep up with 1974 Pinto wagons and 1979 Fairmonts with bone stock 4 cyl and 6cyl engines..... It's why the ^Chinto has a Chevy engine, because the stock, original 2.3L Ford Lima 4cyl was just too powerful and dangerous, that it was banned from competition....... {😁}
I know it takes $10,000 more to build these cars my daddy got killed in one I'm not disrespecting anyone whatsoever God I love the sport I'm there I don't understand tearing your car up for $10,000 to the biggest handstand my Silverado pickup truck and do it but I ain't going to do it I don't mean any disrespect at all but you guys your rides are cool for fast I love watching them just be safe and be who you are
Thank you so much for watching! If you would like to see more Wheelie Videos check this link out: ua-cam.com/video/RK6vkLztEQM/v-deo.html

Bringing back all the memories, thanks BYRON DRAGWAY. won't ever forget that place.started going in 1969. seen some of everyone.
Im in love with that 67 Nova. Omg what a sexy car. I own one my self but that one is just beautiful

LS George! This is something for you!!
I dont understand why they enter a wheelie competition with wheeliebars, its like trying to make icecram on the surface of the sun

Thanks!

@tomeighty you’re filming this. Where are the events held annually?
Thank you for watching! The event is held at Byron Dragway in Byron, Illinois. Usually is the first weekend of October, lock in Sunday October 1st this year and make it out there.
It was a beautiful day out there, perfect weather! Great cars!

Thanks for the sub and that's awesome you were at the event! I've been going every year since 2012... it truly is one of my favorite events to goto every year. I tell everyone that they need to goto this event.
Super 💯🎉
Thx, I needed that!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
The C10 did the wildest Wheellie I think I've ever seen in my life!!!!
No doubt it looked rough 🤠 guy drove through it like a champ
when
It looked like it bent the frame pretty bad to ! shame nice truck sure he’ll sort it though 🤞
Thank You for these cool videos
Thanks Phillip! This is one of my favorite events to goto, so these are always special videos for me. Tom
I was there, awesome event. We will be back.
What kind of camera is that? Your videos have excellent quality! Thanks for the wheelie vid :)
Thank you, it is a Sony Camcorder. amzn.to/3CREkQr
Shubert went there to win. That car is pretty had to drive it right don’t wanna scratch the candy! ‘620 mmmman!
Cool............... 👍👍👍👍
God bless everyone!
God I just love these cars. Good video tho^^!
That pickup's frame probably ended up curvy like a boiled pasta
Really nice pedal control on that 620ft run !
Great Coverage
Thank you!
Loved it !
Thank you!
The C-10 was my favorite🫣
Awesome! 🎉
2019 was a mad one for sure
Yeah that was a great year for the Wheelie Contest.
LOVE THE BARRACUDA...OR IS THAT BACCARUDA..LOL
I volunteer at the drag strip wish the have a wheelies competition
That pickup looks like its made of rubber 😆
I was there supporting my friend Larry in the bad fish '69 barracuda
Seen 4 of these cars 2 years ago there
Channeling inner Stuart from the Californians with that voice
Seems the back of the car needs to be really high to carry the front wheels any distance.
Goody for the win
8:20 ouch!😢
3:29 Stick a fork in that. It's done. Lol
Ten grand will be handy for the winner, the last event must have cost him $20 to 30k
I do believe the car that won is the same car that two or three years ago flipped it over the rail and rolled that car like 10 and 20 times looks pretty good that he built it back up
I came here from Tik tok of that cars pull from the inside
😮🤯
Not the pento 😂
Weird to see Ambrosini struggle
It's almost boring seeing all the properly dialed in cars. Why bother even entering the contest?
Some guys enter it to just be part of the show, they know they won't win it but they all can at least do a wheelie. @@tomeighty good points. I hope I didn't sound rude. Thanks for the reply and all the great videos!

That impact at 8:10 sheesh
A boon for the shock absorber markets.
That white Chevy truck was pretty much destroyed. I'll bet there was not one straight part left on it after that.
The Kremlin seems to have lost some power
what a dork thats a firebird, camaro's never had that front end
I love America
Why are cars running wheelie bars? The wheelie bars prevent wheelie’s. The car can’t get the front end up high enough to maintain a wheelie.
👀🚦⛽🏎
These fellas got nothing on LS George!!
Intro too long.

Beware the Nitro Bums ☠
One motors lsx 427 twin turbo + one transmission 4 speed nascar goo start in 2em y am sure the 400 M ho +
im going to say cars with bars on the back no good for this contest
Goes to a wheelie contest...... Keeps on super long anti wheelie bars... Some of these contestants are setting themselves up for failure
Mericans will make anything into a sport doesnt matter how stupid it might be..
12:34 Please don’t touch other peoples car guys
@Godot It’s disrespectful af dude! Hop off my comment!
@Godot yEs ReAlLy 🥴🤫 go sleep
