Hi, thank you for your comment. It can be quite difficult to know what path to take. Sometimes engaging in a mindfulness activity such as journaling or meditating can offer reflection. I’m currently sat here crying because I’m so stressed about my future. I’ve just gone into year13, last year in sixth form, and planning to go university in September 2021 and I have no idea what I want to do😭😭😭
Hi Emily, I'm so sorry to hear you're struggling what to do. Sometimes it can be best to take time to reflect, to silence the stress, and to sit in silence to listen to your intuition and receive clarity. I hope you find the answers you are seeking soon. Wishing you the best. Stay strong xxx
I’m a second year student and here’s what I’ve learnt; choose the subject that interests you, even if it doesn’t lead to a career directly. Lots of people who love say philosophy may not take it because they think it will not lead to an obvious career. I think, study what you love and then you actually give yourself three more years to think about it all the while you’re enjoying your degree subject. In fact, most people’s careers are vastly different from their degree. My sister did a dance degree and now she’s an estate agent. My mum did a sports degree and now she’s a business woman! Not to mention, you can always change career, they’re not life contracts!
1) Give yourself a deadline 2) Find out why you have been resistant to figuring things out 3) What type of career is right for you 4) Watch people who inspire you.
Ok I haven't watched the whole vid yet but: I have too many things i want to do. I wanna be a marine, fashion designer, photographer, artist, Own a store, Voice actress, model😬, composer, interior designer, teacher, book editor, actress, author, and soooooo much more. When I get interested in one, that interest fades and I get interested in the next one and that process repeats randomly and I dont know what to do. Is there any way u could help me?
Ha! Love all your interests. Here's one trick. If the interest fades, it's not one you'll be passionate about in years to come. If the idea is one that you can't shake, ie, it keeps coming back to you and niggling at you like "I really ought to have done this" explore WHY you've been too afraid to take action. Often there's a reason, you're drawn to distractions. It's safe to be distracted because it doesn't force you to talk action on what you're most drawn to but afraid of pursuing
Joy Randolph 😮 im speechless, this honestly helps a lot. I literally just realized that most of the stuff i want to do is stuff I did in the past, and lost interest in. I still feel the need to continue them, because I still have all the materials for those certain things, and I don’t want to waste them. I also just love the idea of revisiting those hobbies again, but don’t actually WANT to revisit them. Theres about 3 things that have always stuck though, and I know the exact reason why I don’t exactly want to do it for each of them. This is seriously a total game changer!
so im currently 16, last month i wanted to be a nurse. but i realized i don't want to be in a hospital looking and taking care of other people. i imagine myself getting jealous of other families cause i feel like I'll isolate myself when i get a job.
I’m crippled with anxiety over this...I’m nearly qualified as a radiographer but it’s so boring...I’m 40 years old and have no clue what to do as I have a family to think of too..It s really getting me down
@Give me strength Don’t be discouraged. It is never too late to find your passion. Life is all about creating yourself. And many of us will go through maybe 5 careers in our lifetime. It’s okay that you don’t want to do radiography! The great thing is, is that you figured that part out. Explore what things bring you joy and find careers in those subjects that you like. 🦋 Best of luck my friend.
Same, I'm 41 and about to quit/lose my job and am thinking about going back to school for radiography or speech language pathology but I'm alone, no support system, and not sure I can find the money to go to school. I feel so stuck and my anxiety level is off the charts, I feel like I'll be dead soon.
Thank you @Give me strength for your comment and courage for reaching out. It can be very difficult and overwhelming to know what career to choose. I'm sorry it's creating anxiety in your life. It's never too late to switch careers, you still have time. Try journaling each day and think about the possible careers that might bring you joy. This reflective exercise could bring you clarity and a creative outlet to release the anxiety. Sometimes, journaling and releasing our thoughts pen to paper provide an ability to reflect on our personal growth as it changes each day. Let me know if this helps. Also, even though you feel discouraged, there is a positive that at 40 you've had this realization. It's better to have this realization now rather than years. Wishing you the best in your life and your journey :)
10/10 video! I’ve been a licensed hairstylist& barber for 4years, started working at my dream job at this cute barbershop and now I hate it and want to change careers and make more money. It’s so hard when you have already invested so much money, effort, and time into something and now you have to start over.
Wow. Thanks so much for sharing your story. Yes!! When you've invested so much time and money, it can be like "Ahhhhhhhh!" You are so strong and amazing for recognising that wasn't the right path for you and pursuing what lights you up
i really don't think there is not anything i will want to do for 40 hours a week. i was hoping i'd figure something out by the time i graduated but i graduated last may and the more i work the more it feels that every job is going to ruin my life

So my parents tell me to stick with nursing because I can always find a job in that field of work but I’m slowly starting to lose interest in it the more time passes. I’ve always had a passion for art but my mom says it isn’t a career I should rely on. I’m afraid that if I listen to them I’ll pick a career that I absolutely hate but if I go with my gut I’m afraid I’ll fail.

My older sis is in the exact same situation, she's pretty pressured cuz she was forced by our parents to make her choose medtech, she didn't liked it because it was too hard for her, so here I am lol, I tried helping but I don't know what's really been going on inside her lately
Wow. Thank you so much for the suggestion and encouragement to do public speaking on platforms like TedX. That really means a lot. Wishing you so much happiness and positivity in your life too xoxo
I think instead of not knowing what to do with my life, I have to much that I want to do. I’m 15, love to dance, like music, like fashion, like acting, like volleyball, like modeling, like photography, like designing, art. Like how the fuck do I know what to do when there’s so much I can do LMAO just feeling hella lost and confused, I’m stressed that if I don’t pick one soon I’ll be to old to pick, let’s be real all these singers, athletes, etc. have trained for years, I’m 15 I need to pick one soon and work on it before I’m to “old”
Ok but why are you exactly me. Why are you literally stealing my life 😭😭 I'm also 15 and I just have too many interests. I need to choose quick because we're choosing subjects in a few day ✨🤧
Thank you so much. I’ve always wanted to be an artist or animator, but I always thought i will never good enough. And because of this, I kept telling myself I don’t know what I want to do when I’m older. Even though I know that’s a lie.
I'm still in college now and I'm getting a degree in supply chain management. I think my major is kind of interesting but I'm not sure I want to work in the field as a career. Part of the problem for me with choosing a career is having to start over or getting a master's degree. I live in the US so college is expensive and I'm going to have student loans. I don't want to go to grad school for something else and realize I don't like the choice I made and end up having extra loans.
Thank you so much for your video. I am currently active duty military for 6 more years by contract so that is one thing that’s holding me back in making a career change but trying to figure out what i want to do for my career change is where i am struggling. I am very creative. For example, i just planned and DIY majority of my wedding in a matter of 3 months. All the decor, floral (bouquets, boutonnières, centerpieces, and extras), everything, with the exception of the venue, food, and photography. But i really enjoyed the planning and creating my vision of my wedding, i also love photography and so does my husband but we are both just starting so we thought about me doing event planning, floral services with sola wood flowers, and photography together but I’m scared it wont meet our financial needs once i get out of the military as we currently have 3 kids and wanting more in a few years. Which makes me want to go to school for a bachelors degree as a fall back option. That part is the part I’m struggling on. I’m the kind of person that needs a backup option but nothing degree wise really interests me. How can I overcome this obstacle and figure out a plan for myself?
Hi Carmen, thank you for your comment. Because of the pandemic, many companies are either outsourcing or going remote. Now, you have several opportunities to work from your laptop with more freedom to travel. There are several fields online now such as marketing, copywriting, content creating, travel writing, engineering, coding, graphic design, virtual assistant, and many more. Wishing you the best and good luck with your job search xx
Well you can be a flight attendant. You'd get tickets and discounts on airfare. But now isn't a good time for that since airlines aren't making enough money because of covid.
I'm seventeen now , when I was in my 8th grade I wanted to become a doctor. And this interest faded away when I was in 9th thinking about the syllabus and the busy schedules one will have taking Mbbs. And now I'm in 11th std I'm just so confused! ! One month ago I was again thinking about Mbbs and it again faded away coz of the same reason syllabus and busy schedules . And last week i was thinking about of become an electrical engineer again I lost interest in it again of the syllabus (I like physics a lot but still im afraid of studying physics). CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT OF THIS.... I'm fed up of this
Hi, thank you for your comment. It sounds like you really enjoy the STEM field but are worried about the syllabus. Perhaps, you are concerned about your productivity and motivation levels at completing the level of required course work. But you might surprise yourself when you take the classes. The innate passion is certainly there and might give you the motivation you need to succeed. Wishing you the best xxx
I've been freaking out recently because I'm about to finish medical school and realized I only did it to appease my parents (your know, BIPOC eldest daughter syndrome) but I don't want to live my life miserable! I really want to do something I'm passionate about but everything feels so lackluster :(
I wanna be a volleyball player/singer/voice actress and model. It’s really frustrating choosing one out of all the other things. I wanna do it all at once!
I wish I could just live offgrid in the wilderness and focus soley on self sufficiency and surviving off the land..then any free time would be spent ginding ways to create little luxuries and learning about all the plants and natural things I find and what their properties and uses are. I would never worry about a lousy career plan again 😊
im 17 currently a High School Junior and i still dont know what i wanna do all i want i dont what i wanna i was thinking about art but im not sure if i wanna pursue it
I’m currently doing a business course in college because my parents wanted me to choose business even though I don’t like it and find it extremely boring but I don’t want to let them down. I feel so trapped. I want to make my parents happy but in return I won’t be happy myself, I don’t even know what career I want. 😞
Dont worry!! I’ve seen people say this like they dont like this career their taking but, try to find ways that make this career path enjoyable to you..If not then.. im not sire
Hiii I think we're in a similar situation. My parents want me to become a doctor so I decided to just pursue it because I don't really know what I want :( I can't picture myself in any jobs 😞
I want to become a pediatrician, I love kids and even love to cure them, but I'm scared with emergencies. I want to become a lawyer because I want to become the voice of the voiceless. I want everything to become balance. I hate lies. I want to become a lawyer but I'm not good at debating. I'm afraid in public speaking. I want to become a photographer but I want more or anything higher :( and lastly, I WANT TO BECOME A MODELLL, BUT HOWWWW? :((( please help me 🥺
Rn I'm 13, I want to be a doctor but I'm scared and IDK why, I also want to be a model but I feel insecure about my self, my father want me to be a lawyer but I feel I can't do it and I feel it's really hard, I have so many interested in life but idk which of those are for me and I'm very very lazy, I feel jealous when my friends know what they want to do in the future, sometimes I feel like I wish I was them and anything I don't even know what I'm good at, it feels like I don't have a purpose.... Idk anymore help me...
Hello, welcome to this channel. 13 :) Wow, you're thinking about your career so early. There's so much in what you've said. Stay tuned for future videos as I'll be addressing what to do about limiting beliefs about what you fear you can't do and also negative thoughts you have about yourself like you feel very very lazy. There's power in our words. And to break the chains, the first step is to talk more positively about yourself. Stay tuned to my UA-cam channel or google videos on limiting beliefs and positive affirmations - they could be helpful right now
You’re so young. I literally can relate to you tho. My father also wanted me to be a lawyer. I wanted to pursue the medical field and be a model so I can see what you mean by all of this.. wow
I'm like u but I'm 15, and i still don't know exactly what i want i really want to develop myself but I don't know wich career should I choose i tried many things like programming but i liked it just in the beginning I'm easily getting bored and I'm always looking for something new I just want to carry on a specific career
I really have no idea...I like the sound of some things like set production design but it’s too much of a commitment for me. I want to study something that with secure me a job or just to have something to fall on. And change career when I really know. What things can you study that are the most useful?
I know I like to be helpful to people, but currently as a physical therapist I keep on Getting hung up on any mistakes I do because I'm dealing with health and I can't get over rude people's remarks. I don't know how I'm going to live like this forever
You can be absorbed by your feeling of failure or you can see this as opportunity to learn how to grow stronger in spite of the remarks you get. No successful person on earth got there without rude remarks or a ton of failures. Most people make it mean they can’t do it. Successful don’t let their failures or criticism mean anything negative about them or their potential
i dont know if i want to be a teacher, a nurse, a social worker, a finance but I hate studying science so I really don't know but I'm leaning towards an English teacher but idk

Hi Mia, it's common to feel lost on the career you want. Sometimes it can be helpful to emerge yourself in that field through volunteering at a hospital or going to casting calls to see what lights you up and brings you the most joy. I hope you have received some clarity since you posted the comment. Wishing you all the best xxx
I'm 26 single father of a 3 year old beautiful girl and I need a job but don't have a ride anywhere I don't know anybody to help me I barely have any family left. I'm LITTERALY stuck and don't know what to do on top of that I'm very antisocial what do I do...
I’m 16 but I want a career in the government or international relations. Either a foreign service officer or an international aid worker. But I don’t know how to get there, what steps should I take?
I want to become an animator but my mom said I need another job and that's something I should do on the side so I'm trying to figure out what I wanna do ;-;
Be an animator! There are jobs with successful companies and you can have an incredibly enjoyable career. My issue is that I have never really been passionate about anything, if you're passionate and interested definitely give it a go. With animation you will also learn software tools which is hugely transferable. If it's a massive issue with your family, maybe look at FrontEnd or UX/UI development, this will give you coding skills and excellent career path which will take you into animation if you decide to pursue it later in life.
I’m currently in the IT FIELD and honestly as abnormal as it sounds, the field is not for me, I’m looking for a career that’s a lot more hands on without anything white collar desk related.
im currently a sophomore in college and i’ve done a couple general courses under science, pharmaceuticals, and biology stuff, i’m aiming somewhat to become a doctor or pharmacist or something of that sort. but being a tattoo artist really interests me. but i don’t know if it’s steady at all and my family would disapprove of myself having tats. and it’s not anything any of my cousins are doing. but i don’t know why i don’t really have a drive to actually become a computer scientist or doctor like everyone else. maybe it’s the past years of not being around other motivated people
Hey I’m a 20 year old mom my daughter will be 3 soon I don’t know what I want to do I’m really stuck I want to do something that I will make good money and be able to support my family stable I haave been on my own since I was 16 I don’t know very much about anything I graduated high school but I don’t know what I want to study but I want to start like next month as soon as possible I’m stuck between esthetics and nail esthetics or a photographer I’m really good at getting super beautiful pictures. I’m scared if I do esthetics I won’t make good money or if I do nails I won’t be a “great “ nail artist.. etc please help me what do I do?
Worry not about IF you'll be great... or if you'll make "GOOD" money. Good money comes when you're great at something. And you become great at something that you're obsessed with and really enjoy doing, learning and becoming excellent at it. So explore which thing gives makes you feel alive and full of joy. The more obsessed you are, the more likely you are to be on the right path
Hi Danie, thank you for your comment. I am so sorry to hear you're feeling low about your future. You don't often need any qualifications to receive a degree. Universities typically ask for a high school diploma and others, such as community colleges, are easier to receive a degree. You have options. Stay strong. Wishing you the best xxx
Hi im actually into baking and art but im being practical than being passionate about what I really wanted I havent told this to my parents and Im just having what if's like what if we cant afford if I take fine arts since the schools here are very expensive and the materials I needed should be also provide by myself so I was wondering if I cant take fine arts then what should I get as a course then?? I also wanted to try pyschology but im actually not good at memorizing things like terms or words and I hate Science but im kinda good at math and I actually wanted to be a fashion designer, business woman, artist, a commercial model, video editor and a baker at the same time I dont know what to do anymore😭
I always wanted to be a lawyer, but now looking at the life style such as staying on the phone with someone, listening to peoples problems, idk the routine and lifestyle isn’t for me although I do love what a lawyer is.
Hi Ria, thank you for your comment and for your support. I feel like I can hear a bit of British in your accent. I might be completely wrong but I'm interested. Do you spend a lot of time in the UK? lol random question ik but I really feel like I can hear a little British🤔
Ha. Not random at all. I live in England... but my accent is confusing because I wasn't born in England. English wasn’t my first language. I was born in Lesotho and spoke an African language. When my family moved and I went to international schools in Ghana and Cambodia and needed to learn English to attend school. I first learned English from American teachers at American International schools in Africa and Asia. That’s where I developed an American accent. Later on in my childhood, I moved to England and learned English English. Hence why my accent is mixed. That’s why I have what I call a “confused accent” 😂
@@thejoyrandolphshow Ah yes that does explain your accent. You have a very interesting story! I'm half French and Half English and French was my first language. I grew up in Egypt for my first 10 years and started school in a British international school and Malaysia for a couple years in another international school so in the UK (where I live now) people don't notice that I have a particularly different accent from most but they're completely ubable to pinpoint the area of the UK that I'm from since my accent basically comes from hanging out with kids from all over the world.
I need help ...I’m 16 and a junior in high school taking college classes, but I am not sure what career I want to pursue at first I wanted to become a lawyer but the college I go to doesn’t have a degree on it so they told me I had two choices either find something related to the career so I could have a associate degree related to law and continue to a law school and finish becoming a lawyer or find something different from law and still get a associate degree in a different pathway and use it as plan B and later on go to a university or law school to be a lawyer ... but I don’t know if I should actually even be a lawyer since I’m afraid of losing a case and having that guilt and being a failure....what advice can you give me? and what do you think I should do?
Hi Viviana, thank you for your comment. You certainly could continue to pursue law after receiving your associates degree. If the only reason you don't want to pursue law is the fear of failure, then you should still pursue law. No matter what field we pursue in life we will have to face failure at some point. Failure provides many benefits such as increased growth, experience and knowledge. If you lose a case, you will have a better skillset to face the next case, and win 10 more. Spend some time in a quiet place to reflect, listen to your intuition and receive clarity. Stay strong. Wishing you the best xxx
Hi Joyce, it sounds like you're going through a difficult time and questioning yourself and your capabilities. I know failure can feel intimidating and fearful but failure leads to growth. It is through failure that we become stronger, more resilient, and more adaptable. You are more than enough, and you can do it. This is your time to shine, to overcome the challenges, and to achieve the life you want. I believe in you. Take care, and wishing you the best xx
I am 15 a little late to get into things since I already chose between business and economics and physics and chemistry. I went with the scientific field because I guess it has a bigger field choice and if I go with science I can easily change back or take a course, unlike science which takes more time. Lmao adding on my parents kinda forced me into it. My mother always wanted me to become a surgeon like my father. Not forcing me here but she wants me to be like him. I mean I like surgery and all I don’t dislike it really, I just fear my whole life being just this. My father works a lot I mean yes it’s obvious but I don’t want to not have other time for side hobbies I am an artist and I need to work on commissions sometimes. Idk man this whole thing messes with my mind 😭
Hi, I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with what to choose. It seems you're trying to make yourself happy as well as your family. I completely understand. I hope you receive the clarity you're seeking. Remember it's never too late to change. Wishing you the best xxx

I feel so stuck and my anxiety level is off the charts, I feel like I'll be dead soon.
the_one please don’t give up hope, everything will work out I promise

Yes!! When you've invested so much time and money, it can be like "Ahhhhhhhh!" You are so strong and amazing for recognising that wasn't the right path for you and pursuing what lights you up
my dream is to become a hairstylist, could u pls tell me what makes u regret being a hairstylist and want to change ur career?
i really don't think there is not anything i will want to do for 40 hours a week. i was hoping i'd figure something out by the time i graduated but i graduated last may and the more i work the more it feels that every job is going to ruin my life

I can't relate more and thinking about all this stresses me out

I'm scared of failure too, and it's such a big stressor..

I need to choose quick because we're choosing subjects in a few day ✨🤧
Well choose one that you like the best.
Become a professional photographer for swimsuit modeling.
Thank you so much. I’ve always wanted to be an artist or animator, but I always thought i will never good enough. And because of this, I kept telling myself I don’t know what I want to do when I’m older. Even though I know that’s a lie.
i'm 18. just finished high school and don't know what to take in college
I hope you're doing better
What if you want to go into business but don’t know what business you want to start
What if you don’t really have a career you want you just want excessive financial stability for you and your family
Thank you for this video lady!! Love your tips and advice !❤
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Hope you get clear on what you'd like to do next xoxo
I feel like I don’t want to be stuck in a office or hospital or building etc. , what are the best jobs where you get to travel the world?
Hi Carmen, thank you for your comment. Because of the pandemic, many companies are either outsourcing or going remote. Now, you have several opportunities to work from your laptop with more freedom to travel. There are several fields online now such as marketing, copywriting, content creating, travel writing, engineering, coding, graphic design, virtual assistant, and many more. Wishing you the best and good luck with your job search xx

I want to become an animator but my mom said I need another job and that's something I should do on the side so I'm trying to figure out what I wanna do ;-;
Be an animator!
I’m currently in the IT FIELD and honestly as abnormal as it sounds, the field is not for me, I’m looking for a career that’s a lot more hands on without anything white collar desk related.
im currently a sophomore in college and i’ve done a couple general courses under science, pharmaceuticals, and biology stuff, i’m aiming somewhat to become a doctor or pharmacist or something of that sort. but being a tattoo artist really interests me. but i don’t know if it’s steady at all and my family would disapprove of myself having tats. and it’s not anything any of my cousins are doing. but i don’t know why i don’t really have a drive to actually become a computer scientist or doctor like everyone else. maybe it’s the past years of not being around other motivated people
You are so beautiful😍 sis and your smile 👌always stay beautiful God bless ❤

I’m scared if I do esthetics I won’t make good money or if I do nails I won’t be a “great “ nail artist.. etc please help me what do I do?
Worry not about IF you'll be great... or if you'll make "GOOD" money.
Good money comes when you're great at something. And you become great at something that you're obsessed with and really enjoy doing, learning and becoming excellent at it.
So explore which thing gives makes you feel alive and full of joy. The more obsessed you are, the more likely you are to be on the right path

I'll figure out what I want to do😊
Hi Akshita, I love your positivity and affirmation. You most certainly will. Wishing you the best xxx
I feel I can't do it .
It sucks when you drive trucks. I have no time for shit😔
