Hello thank you for reacting again to Lucy Thomas singing " Hallelujah " Lucy was just 16 years old when she covered this song & this cover really was the start of what she has become, she has over 53 million views on UA-cam of this song. Lucy forte is musical theatre where she will be the leading Lady in a new musical called " Rosie " opening soon in the West End London in 2025. Take care, & Merry Christmas Barbara.
Agreed! Drives me nuts when reactors don’t VISUALLY observe the performer in conjunction with hearing them! Especially Lucy! Those eyes are the windows to her beautiful, pure soul! For balance , reactors need to react to the WHOLE aesthetic, not just the vocal aspect, in my opinion.
Great review. Lucy is clearly up there with the best of them. You're going to enjoy Lucy's newer videos as her tone, the depth, her range have all improved. Most would say that Lucy is gifted...I say she has worked her ass off to develop into a world class vocal artist. It has been a real pleasure watching her grow over the years. I'm sure you'll get into the sister duets soon. Martha is also a good singer (as is mama) and everybody loves when they sing together. On a side note, it is sad that Lucy's videos are pitch corrected as it takes out the subtleties of her marvelous voice. Great singers like Lucy don't need pitch correction and I just don't understand why it has become such an industry standard.
You are so correct that there are many, many great artists recording today and I enjoy listening to many of them. I would be willing to bet that after a couple more of Lucy’s songs including duets with Martha and you discover what beautiful soul she is. She will be in your top five. There are many reactors that really genuinely like many singers but Lucy is their favorite. With Lucy there are no gimmicks or tricks she just sings the song how it was meant to be sung and beautifies the song. There is a live version of this song that you and your friend need to listen to. It was recorded last spring at her first public live concert. You will discover that she is very much real with her vocal talents and she is very much authentic. Link; ua-cam.com/video/dAgZAKzjmhE/v-deo.htmlsi=0TwCYerUFPBLnkCz Please keep in mind that this was the encore song of the evening. Thank you for supporting Lucy, Merry Christmas to you and yours, please stay safe healthy and free.
@Niopasthat is not true, there are certainly a few songs that Lucy has recorded that have been pitch corrected,ie 'Have yourselves a merry little Christmas'& 'We can change the world',the live performances at concert have live vocals!,if you run 'Hallelujah' studio & live versions to get her they ,don't match!,don't believe everything you here/read!.
Lucy is a fabulous singer, and her sister Martha will be just as great. I like all of Lucy's covers, but my favorites are "Evergreen", and "All By Myself".
Martha has a fine voice, but she more than likely won't be pursuing a musical career as she has interests elsewhere!,where as Lucy is 100% involved in music!.
Hi Lou - Thanks for posting this one - She was 16 here. Good comments on the studio production of live singing. I find her actual LIVE concert performance voice to be stunning -she sounds as good or better LIVE. She just really started doing live public concerts this year (Turned 20 this year). When you have time - check out "At Last - Live Manchester concert" from March. Also, her release of "Whiter Shade of Pale" shows of her lower register pretty well. The 2nd 1/2 of "All by myself" will show you some serious range and vocal power - as would her cover of Barbara's "Memory" - I think she was 15 in that one. Hope you keep going - Thanks and Happy Birthday!
She is quite a perfectionist. She was 16 here. She'll be 21 in February. She doesn't show off her capabilities so ont expect a single song that has it all. Lately she has been working on her lower range: ex. Unhained Melody, I dreamed a dream. Highs can be found in Silent Night (xMas duet with her 5y+8mo younger sister Martha and in Pie Yesu (temp withdrawn but can be found as link in some reactions) Someone found the church too cold. Breath control: Evergreen among others. Empathy She used to be mine 14y, Run to you 18y? She also did Hallelujah live in Manchester as an encore. You'll love her.
I'll give you two more songs by Lucy and you'll be enthroning her yourself.... and for your info....... she has crazy range, as you'll no doubt find out. It's no accident though or god given talent......it's conservatory training from a very small age and hard work...... but yes, she is exceptional. She got me years ago when she was 13 with Moon River and sealed the deal at 15 with Memories. I've never heard anyone pitch perfect at such an early age.
Nice reaction. You can make a comparison with a true live performance with the one she recorded live at her Manchester concert, also available on her channel
Great reaction man. Not bad for a sixteen year old. If you want to hear Lucy's range then you should react to her and her sisters rendition of "PIE JESU" where Lucy's voice reaches the heavens. Then react to her rendition of "A whiter shade of Pale" performed in her lower range. How about "One moment in time" taking on Whitney Houston.
Great reaction! 'Never' close your eyes when listening to her. Her eyes tell half the story. She has a soul.
