In today’s episode Dr. Becky speak to Cecilie who thought she had met her the man of her dreams when she matched on Tinder with Simon Leviev.
Cecilie was a 29-year-old Norwegian masters student living in London at the time, her first date included a trip on private plane, she truly believed that the man she was dating, who went on to become her boyfriend was an Israeli millionaire who called himself the "Prince of Diamonds." Over the course of 6 months he managed to defrauded her out of over $200k.
This is Cecile’s story where she discusses what she experienced, it’s not a therapy session however it does cover some of the Psychological impact that she experienced. Some people may find the content of this interview distressing.

I did! When I met my now husband he was still a student. Now we are married and have a family business. Not everyone is greedy.

When she said I've always been " I'd rather regret something that I did, instead of not doing it" will stick with me forever, because I'm that way and I'm sure so many more people are that way too. We could all be in her shoes right now. It was bold of her to expose everything for us to learn from her and hopefully learn from her experience.

Really frightening that he got a 3 year old child and lots of others involved and even showed off his private jet. It’s terrifying the lengths these people will go to and the number of people it worked on and how he just kept going even after being arrested. Ikr; there were certainly others who played quite heavily into his whole con. Knowingly or not. He had (at least) a "business partner", a "bodyguard", and the mother of his child. (I assume the 3 year old is more than likely the 3 year old.) This piece of s**t is obviously extremely good at this. He's been doing this crap for a long, long time. It doesn't appear that he's stopping anytime soon. Netflix recently released a new documentary about this creep.

If she were a real high value woman with self-worth, the moment a man asks to use her credit card, or asks to use her money for anything, is the moment she runs away fast and blocks his number. Also, a high value woman does not get on an airplane with a strange man she met on a dating app. From the very first date he showed all the signs of a scumbag, what decent man invites a strange girl he met on Tinder on a plane ride?
Yup, if she was a real high value woman, she would not get on that plane, leave alone get on that plane with an "ex-wife" and a "child". She was smitten by that high life. Paid for it.

But smart women know that true affluent men don’t flaunt their wealth like that in public, burning their money on BS like private jets and caviar on a daily basis. Which is besides the point. As a European woman I find the cultural background of these women no accident. Scandinavians in general are very kind and trusting people, their women are the most open minded females in Europe, there's no patriarchal culture and they have no issues giving money to men. As a Spaniard I would NEVER in a million years jump with a Tinder stranger on a plane and my bull-shi-to-meter would be playing out loud looking at his flashy instagram, growing in a poor country makes you more streetmart, we're also more traditional and do not jump in planes with men who have not been properly introduced to our families. There's a reason why this man preyed on Scandinavian woman.
The moral of the story here is that anyone can get scammed from a young attractive woman like Fjellhoy to old widowers. Be safe out there.
Let’s try not to blame the victim. Compared to other stories that I’ve heard, this guy was a professional. And she was in love with him. I’m not surprised that she fell for it. And she’s got the guts to go public with this sad story as well. She’s got balls!

It is very easy to see all of the red flags looking back at this story, as they are typical narcissistic behaviours like love bombing, over-inflated sense of self-importance, sense of entitlement, needing admiration, engaging in whirlwind "romance"/fast paced romance, his anger outbursts she observed towards others on the phone etc. That being said it seems that he was an incredibly talented con artist and it is clear he has zero empathy for his victims which appear to be many. He is probably further profiting from his newly found fame and finding new ways to grift from it. I feel very sad to read so many comments of people blaming the victims of his abusive behaviours. I am so sorry to hear the Cecilie was one of the victims but I feel like she still could be susceptible to another relationship with a narcissist in the future as she seems to believe there were no flags when looking back there were a lot. I feel badly for Cecelie and hope she gets the help that she needs to recover and learn from this horrible experience as one of his victims--keep up the healing!

When I first heard about this I thought, wow how naive. But listening to this entire interview it becomes obvious he made such a show, it was not so easy to figure him out. He is really a pro. I think it should have been a red flag, anyone with any real money would be very careful about flaunting it on dating sites. If you are after a serious relationship then rule one is not to tell all the women or men you are a billionaire as it will only attract the wrong people.

It is not easy to go publicly with such a story. She is extremely brave and bold. I really admire her. A very sad and tragic story. You are an excellent interviewer. You are a good listener and compassionate, as well as very supportive. All women sitting in Cecile's seat would feel so stupid, and shamed, but your approach is one of understanding. This could happen to anyone. Cecile isnt stupid. She is beautiful, intelligent and articulate, and she was duped by a professional conman with a whole entourage of criminals.

This guy is clearly a deceiver and an awful person, however, I’m very surprised that this lady didn’t see any warning flags. She was clearly looking for a guy with serious stats and that alone will bring only materialism and not really anything too real. Him taking her money was seriously wrong and he violated her in more ways than one. This is seriously not right. This guy needs stopping. That would be the same if it was reversed. No one should be able to get away with tricking and fraudulent love. Thank goodness she is ok. I hope this guy gets what he deserves.

She isn't the only one he's defrauded. He's been doing this for a long, long time. He's extremely good at it. From what I understand; he's still conning people. Perhaps in another way, but still. I've learnt the hard way that certain narcissistic individuals are excellent actors, including my EX, but even other similar types assumed that he was a lovely man, because he's friendly. They usually have a strong radar for vulnerability as well, which he boasted about.

I think this lady needs Love Addiction councelling. She clearly chases the dating / romantic high. It's very clear that her desire for love led her down this path. 2months of dating and she says yes to moving in... Something isn't right.. For an IT consultant with a Master's degree, she didn't use much logic or reason.... You should only lend > $100 to someone you've been with, or have known for atleast 12months.

Watch the full documentary before judging this women. This man was a professional con ARTIST. He was flying in private jet, traveling all over Europe while having arrest warrants out for him..he had multiple passports and identities and fooled so many others working with him to strengthen his deception. She seems like such a sweet person and really strong.. she is responded to bring more awareness and prevent him from hurting others like he hurt her; she has a good heart and was victimized by this sociopath. Hate this happened to her. I was taken for a ride by a sociopathic fiance for 4 years and about lost my mind. He lived multiple lives as well. Although I didn't lose $200,000 dollars, I lost my home, my car, my friends along the way and half of my family bc of the way he meticulously molded a web of doom around my entire orbit of life. It's been over 2 years and I'm still trying to glue my life back together. Most of everything is gone for good though, he made sure of that. Anyway, he wound up getting another girl almost 14 years younger than him pregnant and he is now all hers. He didn't just cheat on me. He was meeting with the family of the other woman and they actually thought he lived with them!! It's amazing how these freaks sleep at night. This woman here is so lucky she made it out alive.
