As someone who works in a shoestore (that sells Doctor Martens, Ugg, Timberland, Birkenstock, New Balance, etc) unfortunately they sometimes switch factory and their sized can differ 1 or 2 mm. Which might be just to much for your feet and now the same size doesn't fit.
For me the quality for doc martens is so different as well, I bought Sinclairs in two sizes and one was made in china, other one made in Vietnam and the china ones felt so cheap, such thin leather. Big difference
The tabi shoe trend is so interesting to me because I honestly feel like it doesnt really change the look of the shoe very much compared to the same type of shoe without the tabi detail. I feel like some of the fashion people wearing them were being snobby about it, like 'you just don't get it, because you're not as fashionable as me" not to mention the fact they are over $1,000, the cultural significance is interesting but doesn't justify being a snob about it. The trending version of the shoe wasn't even made by a japanese designer
I love the green and brown cowboy boots. I think you will get a lot more wear out of them than the green metallic ones. It always feels good when you know someone else will get more wear out of them.
Alexa, you know how much I love your videos….and like you, shoes and boots are my favorite category of clothing. SO! This video is now officially my all-time favorite video of yours. I could watch it all day. My favorite UA-camr doing show-and-tell featuring your collection of my favorite fashion category? Facinating❣️🙂 It made me think about my own BIG collection of shoes and boots as I watched, and feel less guilty about owning it because there’s LOTS of us out there who love our shoes!!! I think my favorite pair of yours might be the iconic black high-top Converse. Your Docs collection is also outstanding! I personally can’t imagine myself being willing to try the Tabis look, too bovine for me. Moo. I do love cowboy boots and Converse and UGGs and some Docs too….I don’t recall you having UGGs ever? Thanks for this fun video❣️🙂
I loved this video! I feel you so much about the tabis. Thought they were weird and impractical, hated them, then found an amazing small shoemaker business on etsy, ordered tabis from her and now I'm obsessed.
I love all of the Dr Martens! Also, I am almost positive I had that exact same black floral maxi skirt you're wearing with the Dr. Martens Mary Janes in the mid 90s!
Totally agree on trying on Docs if you can before buying, and sometimes mall shoe stores carry a selection. I'm a size 8 to 8 1/2, but there is one style of Docs that I am a 7 in which is WILD. I'm interested in trying some Converse again, they fit my narrow foot well (I got married in a pair of converse, don't regret it at all, it was so very 2015 of me) but just were not comfortable enough to wear for longer periods of time. Thank you for mentioning that they seem to have updated the insole! And lastly, the Tabis, I'm really interested in trying them for my foot health. My big toes curve in a lot and I've been trying to keep up on wearing spacers to help prevent issues down the line. Hoping to try them on in-store at some point, but no clue if that's even an option.
My Dr Martens Isham Mules are 2 different shades of brown. I hadn’t noticed it indoors but when I go outdoors in the sun, it’s more obvious that they are different colors.
38:05 i am with you on the unif parker boots. they are SO uncomfortable and i am so confused bc ppl would always gush about how easy they were to walk in 🤨 but i cant bring myself to part with them because they're so classic looking and beautiful 😭
38:20 I've had mine for 5 years and they're still not comfortable for longer than a couple hours 😭💔 I used to wear them all the time but now it's once in a blue moon. so maybe I should have kept trekking along lol
I love seeing your collection! I got the Mayboles as soon as they were available in my country, too--I hadn't heard about them, but they were suddenly on a shoe store website I was browsing (not the DM website here, either!) and I absolutely impulse-bought them instead of the Bethans I had been saving up for--and the first time I wore them was through Ikea (for hours!) without socks, and I barely got any rubbing, definitely no blisters. I got the plain black ones, so maybe they're a different leather!
The Dr. Martens brown fisherman sandals were my first docs, got them in June! I think that is why I'm ok with the heaviness, I got the Dr. Martens Mary Jane 8065s last month and realized that not all docs are as heavy as the fisherman sandal lol!
I am looking to buy the new doc martens with the red and the heel for homecoming. I just don’t know how to style them for everyday use. Maybe in a styling video you could give some tips 😊. I love looking at shoes no idea why, so I love this video and all of your other ones ❤
those new square toe doc mary janes 😍 can't wait to see how you style them! Also I always roll my ankle in my dr marten 1461 quad soles but it doesnt happen in the jadons.
I really liked the J Jill boots and the green and brown cowboy boots. I've been thinking about getting some Docs--I had a couple pair LONG ago--but I think I really need to try them on. My feet have changed over time. I like the tabis as well. They are very elegant! I've seen Margiela tabis in person, but the ones I saw were men's and they just looked so bulky and huge.
I love dark red/ bourgondy colored shoes. I m on the hunt for bourgondy cowboyboots I love fringed shoes too or with tasles. So fun. Grate video Alexa x
I love crocs. I don't care what other people think. I collect them The Jadons are one of my favorites too. I have nubuck ones. J.J Jill also has great clothing.
I only have one doc marten’s pair of shoes and I have the regular Jaden AirMax boots with the zipper on the side and they are amazing because of how easy they are to get on and are super comfortable. Never had any issues
I totally feel you on not being able to thrift shoes easily! I have to try on shoes in person because I have weird duck feet (affectionate). My length is around a size 6, but my width is around a size 10-11, so most shoes just don't fit, or they fit super strangely and I have several inches of empty toespaceXD Which usually I don't mind, but I just can't buy shoes online unless I have tried that brand and make on in person before which limits my thrifting options considerably. New shoes are usually able to be exchanged for a correct size if needed
I have a pair of crocs I use ONLY as house shoes too, but most of my Crocs I wear out in public and love them. Im flat footed too and Crocs help my feet so much when walking around long periods of time.
I love your By far x reformation probably the most ''my style''! As for Dr. Martens I just went throught a whole buying ordeal with the Jetta brown boots I ordered a W7 and when they arrived they were in fact 39 EU which is way too big now I'm trying to sell them but without any luck! So I went to try a pair in store to finally realized I needed a 37 EU who is a W6 US which is NEVER the case I'm usually a 7.5US so I can wear 37EU or 38EU if they have no half size. I was just so confused with their sizing, anyway the store only had the Jetta in black and I wanted the brown. So I try again my luck ordering it online and finally got the right size in the brown colour. 😓
My least favorite style of shoe is a mary jane. I think it really depends where the strap is on the shoe but the higher on the foot (toward the ankle) the worse they are....and tend to make a foot look much longer. I do like the dbl buckle Docs, they are a sort of cross between a mj and a fisherman. All your Doc choices are good including the newest, what an unusual style! I also love cowboy boots but can seldom wear any boot unless it has a zipper. The skimmer heels from Target look really nice on you and its always smart to have a dressier pair of black shoes for events like weddings/funerals. Btw, the brown boots near the end, the ones with cognac in the title? Cognac is the color, named after the alcoholic drink, pronounced "coh-nn-yak".
Ive been wanting to get into shoes! Normally I wear one set of sneakers till they fall apart but I feel with styling for outfits I always get a bit disappointed like the outfit is not complete?? Anyway this definitely gave me inspiration!! Thank uuu
I love the look of docs and want to love them but i had a pair years ago that i ended up selling because they hurt my feet so bad. I have 4 pairs and havent worn any of them because im scared of the break in. You have given me hope though... i think i will pull out my jadons and try wearing them out. 45:04
i don't think i could buy shoes without trying them on, i just can't deal with shoes not fitting or not being comfortable. it makes such a difference in life!
I agree dr martens adrians are tricky with sizing. I went down 1 size to my normal in docs even tho its now very snug bc they aren't as structured around the foot, and your heal slips out especially the more it wears. My toes are pretty cramped inside rn so hoping they wear in more.
29:46 i had the delia’s craft shoe for a year before they were destroyed but they were my favorites! i ended up buying those unif shoes and a year later they’re still holding up pretty well :) the vibes are slightly different but i think it’s a good replacement
I grew up in the 80s and we had black fabric Mary Janes like your brown velvet ones. They were super cheap, like 3 dollars. We called them chinese shoes, I don’t remember why.
My podiatrist blamed my Converse for the awful bunion on my foot…I had sooooo many! I switched to actual tennis shoes (ON Cloud’s The Roger is my preference) and it changed the game! I kept one pair but they have the stretchy laces so they are a little more forgiving. I don’t have especially wide feet…it was more the rubber piece that goes right over the lower bone of your big toe that was the problem. Just a thought….
i'm not too familiar with US or Uk sizing so it's really confusing for me when I online thrifting, I have purchased a number of shoes online thrifting this year and have relied on the centimeter sizing and it all were a nice fit. But yeah buying shoes online sometimes really is a gamble 😭
I love shoes... but my collection is more like 150 pairs of them :s You influenced me with the Dr Martens Mary Jane, but I bought them in brown and they're awesome :) And for what it's worth, your toes seem perfectly cute to me xD
Omg literally same, ppl that say they’re comfortable are 100% lying!!!! No matter how thick your socks are it still hurts. I f’ed up once and wore them to a festival and it ruined my whole entire time there they cut me up so bad and were so hard it was miserable :/ I still have them tho
I've had my DM Mary Janes for 3 years now and they still aren't comfortable or properly broken in 😢I can't wear them on days I need to walk a lot and I can't wear them on consecutive days or I get cramps and ripped-up ankles.

Patent leather is especially hard because it basically have a layer of plastic on them(which makes then shiny). It can be done but it takes longer. Use a hair dryer to heat up the leather and some thick socks.
Love so many of your shoes! I got the docs maybole shoes too but honestly i feel like they are very overpriced for not having a leather interior? Love love love the colors and silhouette (although i'm debating if they're not giving just a tad too much clown for me) but mainly feel like you're just overpaying for the brand name instead of the quality
I struggle to find comfortable shoes. I found out why. I have extra bones on the tops and bottoms of my feet like right under the big toe. And arches. Can’t wear flat shoes but also can’t wear heels that are too high. 😢😢 I struggle
Where I use to live the stairs were wood and one morning I forgot to put on my crocs and fell down the stairs and could barely move for two weeks so for me it’s because I’m clumsy
Different styles also just fit differently
For me the quality for doc martens is so different as well, I bought Sinclairs in two sizes and one was made in china, other one made in Vietnam and the china ones felt so cheap, such thin leather. Big difference
You are wearing that vest already!!!!! It looks so so good on you😻
They 100% changed the insoles of the converse, I’ve had a few and the old ones were so thin and hard the new ones are so squishy and comfy
Thank goodness! Makes such a difference!
SO SO HAPPY you filmed this! Can’t wait to watch a mini movie all about your shows😍
The tabi shoe trend is so interesting to me because I honestly feel like it doesnt really change the look of the shoe very much compared to the same type of shoe without the tabi detail. Give this woman her DM sponsorship! 😆 Ok but seriously, can we talk about all the new dr martens releases this winter? They've really been killing it!
I love the green and brown cowboy boots. I think you will get a lot more wear out of them than the green metallic ones. It always feels good when you know someone else will get more wear out of them.
Something about the yellow stitching on the tassel Oxford is very classy.
I literally bought the mabel mary jane's because of you. They are my new fave shoe!!!
Yes I will listen for 45 minutes of yapping about shoes!

the one piece charms!!! also my favourite shoes were the red cowboy boots, that shade of red is just chef's kiss 🤌🏼
I loved this video! I feel you so much about the tabis. Thought they were weird and impractical, hated them, then found an amazing small shoemaker business on etsy, ordered tabis from her and now I'm obsessed.
Do you still know the shop name? :)
Would also love to know the name of the shop !
It's Raboesy :)
thank you!!
I just found your channel and I rly love it :) The intro, your personality, the content. It's rare to find a new channel to subscribe to! yay!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love all of the Dr Martens! Also, I am almost positive I had that exact same black floral maxi skirt you're wearing with the Dr. Martens Mary Janes in the mid 90s!
Those chunky sketchers are still 🔥. 😂 Had to reorder a second pair because I wore them to the ground! 😍 Love those.

Your personality is sunshine! Immediately subscribed ❤
I am a sucker for the vans mary jane as they remind me of my school shoe when I was 10 - perfect mix between mary jane and sneaker ❤
I like the square toe Mary Janes. I hope they release them with other patterns thought. I have plenty of black shoes
The Dr. Martens brown fisherman sandals were my first docs, got them in June! I think that is why I'm ok with the heaviness, I got the Dr. Martens Mary Jane 8065s last month and realized that not all docs are as heavy as the fisherman sandal lol!
Red cowboy boots- PULLING THEM OFF!! 😂🥰
I love Mary Janes and loafers.
I m for shure a boot and booties girl.
Just ware sneackers for comfort.

The croc slander is so dramatic! Haha I love it
I had Skechers d'lite as well and completely worn them down! I love them. I have buffalos now to replace them but they arent nearly as comfortable
I love dark red/ bourgondy colored shoes. I m on the hunt for bourgondy cowboyboots
I love fringed shoes too or with tasles. So fun. Grate video Alexa x
For the converse hi-tops, try not lacing them all the way up. That should take some pressure off your ankle.
Obsessed. So many beautiful shoes.
I love crocs. I don't care what other people think. I collect them
The Jadons are one of my favorites too. I have nubuck ones.
J.J Jill also has great clothing.
Yes yes yes shoes are my jam! I work in a hospital and don't leave my house but I'm sure I was a fashionista with a shoe addiction in a past life.
I only have one doc marten’s pair of shoes and I have the regular Jaden AirMax boots with the zipper on the side and they are amazing because of how easy they are to get on and are super comfortable. Never had any issues

Duckfeetusa has some cute mary janes that I have been eyeing. I have wide feet so I too struggle to find cute shoes that accommodate for a wide width
@@alo_kitty ooooo thanks!!:D

I grew up in the 80s and we had black fabric Mary Janes like your brown velvet ones. They were super cheap, like 3 dollars. We called them chinese shoes, I don’t remember why.
i remember seeing my mom’s doc fisherman sandals in the early 2000’s and thinking they were so cool but of course they’re gone now!!
i have jadons too, can't believe you didn't have to break them in?? mine used to be SO uncomfortable and cut me up like crazy 😭
Try a heel cushion with the boots that are too big! :)

I love my grey Adidas campus sneakers they're super cute n I think they'd fit your style I love them w a maxi skirt and ruffle socks!
how do you organize all your shoes? ❤
like how do you store them
Your Doc Martens collection,,,wow!! (I'm now scrolling Vinted looking for ankle boots though I'm BROKE)
i'm not too familiar with US or Uk sizing so it's really confusing for me when I online thrifting, I have purchased a number of shoes online thrifting this year and have relied on the centimeter sizing and it all were a nice fit. But yeah buying shoes online sometimes really is a gamble 😭
My gen x husband still has his brogues like that from high school.
I have those wingback docs. they fit TOO perfect meaning they're a little too small with thicker socks. So i get what you're saying 😭
How are your crocs more controversial than your tabis 😭😭
What size did you get for the Jadon?
A size 9! ❤️
Is your wedding day video still up I can’t find it???? x
We have to call you Alexa Martens… ❤ my fave is your green brown boots 🥾
I love shoes... but my collection is more like 150 pairs of them :s
You influenced me with the Dr Martens Mary Jane, but I bought them in brown and they're awesome :)
And for what it's worth, your toes seem perfectly cute to me xD
i just got the new doc marten amaayahs they have a square toe im obsessed
Nooooo those square mary janes just changed my brain chemistry I want them
now I'm over here wondering where my white low top converse from college went lol
I’ve had my Doc Marten Jaden’s for 5 years and I still can’t break them in!!! I wear them every winter and I still can’t :(
Omg literally same, ppl that say they’re comfortable are 100% lying!!!! No matter how thick your socks are it still hurts. I f’ed up once and wore them to a festival and it ruined my whole entire time there they cut me up so bad and were so hard it was miserable :/ I still have them tho

Love the video!
Would love to see a style challenge where you only wear 1 pair of shoes for a week while styling it in different ways.
Is 9.5 size equal to 41 EU?
Converse changed their insoles❤
I feel your dr marten pain I can wear a 9-11 in various brands I bought the patent leather oxfords last summer I love them but I cannot wear them they're a 10 and very stiff I've been breaking them in for a year and it's never gonna happen but I'm too sad to resell them so I just look at them everyday lol 😢
Patent leather is especially hard because it basically have a layer of plastic on them(which makes then shiny). It can be done but it takes longer. Use a hair dryer to heat up the leather and some thick socks.
Alexa order the Virginia range of doctor martens, they require little to no break in , you will thank me
Are those the pascal ones? Are is pascal different...?
@@Lemonade_Stand_ yes, the pascal they are a dream no beak in required
Love so many of your shoes! I got the docs maybole shoes too but honestly i feel like they are very overpriced for not having a leather interior? Love love love the colors and silhouette (although i'm debating if they're not giving just a tad too much clown for me) but mainly feel like you're just overpaying for the brand name instead of the quality
Your toes don't look crooked to me. I love your shoes, all so cute.
I swear the docs sizing is so inconsistent. I have a pair thats a size 7 and one thats an 8. Both fit well but I’m usually a size 8.5/ 39 EU
No, to me, the most controversial are those crazy MaryJanes with the separate space for your big toes.
I’m neither of those house house shoe people. I wear Nike foam slides. They’re so comfy
i’ve had doc marten mary jane’s for like 4 years now and they’re still not broken in….
I struggle to find comfortable shoes. I found out why. I have extra bones on the tops and bottoms of my feet like right under the big toe. And arches. Can’t wear flat shoes but also can’t wear heels that are too high. 😢😢 I struggle
The Mary Jane tabis are so good
Luv your vids :)
I love them all I’m a shoe person I probably have 300 pairs 👢🩴👞👟👡💕
Totally not a big deal but cognac is pronounced cone-ee-ack. I just know I always want someone to tell me.
I think it's more like cone-yack.
@@RebeccaHunt-wv8bc Sounds basically the same when you say both 😄 Double ee and y sound essentially the same.
I also have a high instep!
How tall are you? ❤️
5'7 ❤️
Hold up - HOW are you wearing the tabi Mary Jane's with socks???? It splits your toes...but you're wearing socks?? I am confusion.
They are Tabi socks so they have the split toe as well ❤️❤️
@alexasunshine83 OMG that's amazing!!!! 💗
You look beautiful💖
Cute ✨
I’ve got a wide forefoot and crooked toes are dm’s for me or not? I ❤ every pair you have Alexa!
I get blisters in every pair of Dr. Martens I have ever own. Size and style does not make a difference. Oh well though I still wear them!!
what's the point of a house shoe? like, why do you need shoes in the house? maybe for using power tools or something?
Similar to slippers.
Where I use to live the stairs were wood and one morning I forgot to put on my crocs and fell down the stairs and could barely move for two weeks so for me it’s because I’m clumsy
