I was the Augusta Georgia office manager and sometimes went out as the Advance Man For “The James Brown Review”. When we bought our replacement jet for the Learjet 23, We got a much bigger Gulfstream! Twice as much headroom and five more passenger capacity. It had an entertainment system with all the bells and whistles. Brand new. I drove over to bush field (Augusta) as we had a three week 18 concert contract to fill in Vegas and California. I When I boarded I saw Mr. Brown in his seat 💺 but the crystal clear sound of the Dells was blasting away! 🎉 Mr. Brown L O V E D this group! And because the guys (Dells) were all avid golfers , and Augusta was home to the “MASTERS GOLF TOURNAMENT “ he issued an open invitation for the group to come down and play for charity. It never happened but I’d never seen Mr. Brown get into a group like he Loved the Mighty Dells!

One of the few super soul groups to have all original surviving members. And one of the few original soul groups to sound just and good today then they sounded back in the day.
Here my take on this, I see a few people commenting on Marvin Junior had to sit down, when he held note he about to have heart attack, but here is what you must realize, these guy's have been singing since 1953, they are in their late 60's or early 70's so these guys are seasoned men, they have been doing a lot longer that most RnB groups, so if you have been singer almost 6 decades, at some point your is not going sound like it was 60years ago, I am surprised and amazed that they are still singing, so think about how groups do you know that are still around with most of the original members not many...these guys did a phenomenal job, and they can still hold their own...Marvin Junior one baddest baritone vocalists of all time the G.o.a.t , I think we should be careful when saying certain things, these guys paved the way for many groups to get to where they are at, I dont take it lightly because they went some ish..to be where they are today.....and effort it takes get up when you're not feeling well either and hit notes effortlessly and still be on key y'all need to recognize...ijs

I was blessed to be an army brat, we got see all of the USO shows live and in colorl This song besides being a masterpiece was my generations all time favorite slow song. over 7 mins of slowdancing :) now I think how many times can you say 'stand' or baby I love you? I loved the 50's -80's music. It was in a whole old classy way. I loved Ashford and Simpson, Tina & Rick-and on and on and on
