I remember one day I found a dell 2007wfpb monitor in trash. When I turned it on, I was surprised by that picture quality, but it had a problem - it was turning off by itself. Inside a monitor there was a faulty resistor which I removed from the motherboard completely. After the modification it worked for about 2 hours, and then it just died - stopped turning on completely. Had to go back to trash, where I found it. R.I.P. dell 2007 wfpb monitor.

I've actually got one of these on the way haha! Funnily enough, I'm going to be using it with an xbox classic on my desk and this was a prime candidate because of the 4:3 resolution and the s-video input. Great video mate!

I have the 2408WFP which also has the crazy amount of inputs adding HDMI and Displayport and a larger 24" PVA panel which has some excellent black levels. I think you could definitely do worse than to buy one of these on the used market. Although reliability is questionable considering that these pre 2010 monitors all use an inefficient CCFL backlight that produces a ton of heat and degrades very noticeably over time. My 2408 needs about 30 minutes to reach peak brightness. I think something like the 2412 (or 2413 for more inputs) would be a better investment. They also look pretty cool, but use a significantly better LED-Backlight and IPS-panels while not being too expensive on the used market compared to these silver-oldies.
I picked up 5 of these. The stands are not interchangeable as the monitors are too heavy for the stands of say a 1907 which causes them to immediately fall to the lowest position. I have found the composite input to be very finacky, they just do not like many 50hz pal inputs.
I accepted one of these specifically for the Video and S-Video inputs. It looks like it doesn't accept my PAL VIC20 and C64 signals though. That's a bummer. I'll have to experiment a bit more.
it definitely works good with old consoles (NES, SNES, N64, GC, PS1, PS2, XBOX, etc.) and the 8 bit computers (Apple II, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, TI-99/4a, etc.)
Any similar monitors with a little bit faster response time? The only issue on this monitor is the ghosting, so im searching for alternatives that are the same size.
I used to have the Dell ultrasharp 1908FP monitor. Very similar to this monitor, only it was 19 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 1024. It was very good and I liked it a lot but unfortunately the power button broke making it unusable. :/ A Google search revealed that this was a very common problem with this monitor.
I have noticed that my monitor works very well when I am using Linux, but for same resolution on Winodows 10, it gives me very bad resolution. I don't know how to solve this, tried installing some drivers, but it wasnt succesful.
The Dell U2711 is fantastic if you can find one because of the sheer variety of ports it has, and the 2560x1440 resolution is still great to use day to day now.
