Personal project on European music history. To learn more and from more accurate/knowledgeable source, watch this bbc series here: • BBC Howard Goodall's S...
Some of this is very good, and nice illustrations! Looked it up to hear some of the music from different eras, and I'm not disappointed after watching this video. Of course we can't expect the whole music history from a 20 minute video - that'd be silly and impossible. Thanks :)
Wow thanks for all the comment... To be honest, I did this for a 10th grade project 😂 so please only reference this as a very general "introduction" rather than informative...
I'm sorry I never got to it... But I probably still won't 😂 but if I ever do a project similar to this, I will definitely do it! Thanks for the advice!
I really enjoyed this. The illustrations are really entertaining! Ignore the snobs complaining that you didn't include their favorite composer for a school project.
Thank you, thank you so much! I was so confused between Classical , Baroque, and Romantic music! Now is all makes sense! Thank you! If it isn't too much, could you do videos on the history of music on other continents, too..?
+Qingyang Wang Unfortunately, that probably won't happen :( I only did this animation for a school project two years ago... I no longer have time for doing these animation. Thank you for your appreciation though!
Hello, you did a very good job with this video. Nice illustrations and technique: how did you do it? and how long did it took? looks like a long process (you should be proud) :)
Serenaif awwww thanks! So sweet of you to say! I did it in a very stupid way (definitely not recommended). I used a basic tablet and photoshop CS3. It took me quite a long time (I did it for a project back in high school)... if you are using photoshop to create animation, the newest version now has a function called "onion skin" to help you with animation process, and you can find many tutorials online. Otherwise, there are many more better animation softwares out there, but I am no expert 😂
why start you with ancient Rome and not with ancient Greece .... you forgot to mention the matrix of European music .... it would be correct because according to musicological science is not true ....
I'm very sorry, but why don't you talk about the reform in opera by Rossini, Wagner, Verdi and Puccini? Or why don't you talk about Handel? There are many details you don't talk about them.
I can't believe the Russian/Slavic or Nordic schools schools weren't even mentioned at all! that leaves out Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Grieg and other great composers
Some info were inaccurate... And the ending bothered me... Impressionist music didn't lead to our Pop music of today... You didn't include Serialism, Neo-classicism, Nationalism, Modernism, Minimalism.. All very important in crafting Western Art music.
Fiona Huang Beethoven was definitely classical and I would disagree and say all of his works were also but he did influence other romantic composers. Also why nothing about Brahms or Liszt?
Great question, would love to ask the past self, but hey, I've moved on. I do appreciate them a lot though, so if you wish, you are welcome to leave more information about them in the comments.
This video really helps me to study the general things of music history. Thank you so much!
This is AWESOME! Thank you for putting this out there!
thank you for watching :)

thank you for the warm comment :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Beethoven is my favourite in this anime

As a music teacher, I use this for my young'ins. Good research (accurate), and good job on the video ;)
I like this, im practising music for a quiz coming up :)
This is good, easy to understand for me. Good point for me to start study more. Thank you.
+Chan Suri Thank you so much!
Perfect easy and fast revew... THANK YOU .
Thanks for the comment ☺️
Very informative, thank you.
Thank YOU for your appreciation ☺️
I suggest a full list of the background music to accompany your project.
I'm sorry I never got to it... But I probably still won't 😂 but if I ever do a project similar to this, I will definitely do it! Thanks for the advice!

Okay! I hope that you got a good grade! :) Also, you're welcome! :)
why not add a voice over of what the text reads?
Mozart did not write Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, it was already popular. He composed variations on it.
Well, I've only learned about it afterwards... So... Not gonna change it, but thanks for commenting about it
who wrote it then?
Mozart wrote an adaptation on twinkle. It is unknown who wrote the original
can you do it without the font i find it hard to read
Why not do the modern and film periods?
Cool!

This is great! Thank you! I just wished some of the illustrations would show women to encourage my daughters.
Damned, you forgot to mention Handel and Purcell among the baroque composers... that's an heresy! :op
hoplaaaa yeah, kinda... sorry but I'm still lazy
Wow!!!!
What was the song representing Rome era music?
unfortunately, I lost all the file other than the video itself... I hope you find it! (It's probably something I found on UA-cam)
8:04 what is the music?
Probably one of bachs flute partitas 🤷
What is the music 6:30
@Jacob H Thank you
2:05 Sakpipslät, by Azam Ali
Why don't you include composers like John Williams or Manuel De Falla?
Great question
Why not do the modern and film period?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Where's flamenco :(
Maybe I’m just weird but this reminds me of a calmer bill wurtz.
why start you with ancient Rome and not with ancient Greece .... you forgot to mention the matrix of European music .... it would be correct because according to musicological science is not true ....
Dude, it was for a 10th grade project. I didn't give that much crap
I'm very sorry, but why don't you talk about the reform in opera by Rossini, Wagner, Verdi and Puccini? Or why don't you talk about Handel? There are many details you don't talk about them.
I was lazy, and still am
Fiona Huang lol ignore these guys, this was a great video, they can't do better
Piano 120 Awwww thanks ♥️
Fiona Huang just casually reading the comments, the way you reply to them is hilarious XD
Piano 120 it's a combination of laziness and swag, largely the former
I can't believe the Russian/Slavic or Nordic schools schools weren't even mentioned at all! that leaves out Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Grieg and other great composers
owenivor true, I like them a lot... can't be bothered now tho
Fiona Huang did you grow tired of the likes of Tchaikovsky etc?? why, if i may ask?
I didn't, i just grew tired of making this animation
where's Tchaikovsky in Romanticism!?
Isn't he more like in the nationalist movement... Which I didn't include
Roman music sounds like the music I hear in my village in india
no
i am watching this for class XD
woah
Thank you for a very cute and well made video! It’s great tho you say it was a homework for the 10th grades’ !
Some info were inaccurate... And the ending bothered me... Impressionist music didn't lead to our Pop music of today... You didn't include Serialism, Neo-classicism, Nationalism, Modernism, Minimalism.. All very important in crafting Western Art music.
Try drawing all that yourself in a month and you will see why
No word about opera?
Nah, I was (still am) lazy
k got it
LOL im using this video for a school assignment too
Mozart didn't Compose "Twinkle Twinkle...". He arranged it in a bunch if ways, but so did other composers.
Only learned that afterwards, not gonna change it but thanks for the comment
Ok, it's difficult to say what romanticism exactly is (or was), but are you sure that Beethoven is to be classified as romantic?
He sort of started it, so in some sense, he would be crossing two different styles. His later works are definitely romantic, I would say
Fiona Huang Beethoven was definitely classical and I would disagree and say all of his works were also but he did influence other romantic composers. Also why nothing about Brahms or Liszt?
