I just assembled this with the help of this video. It took more than 5 minutes for sure,but I still appreciate the fact there's no screws except for the 2. I bought it used for $800 with the nightstand. It is solid. Let's see how well I sleep tonight!!

I watched maybe a half-dozen other Thuma assembly videos before finding yours which showed the actual nitty gritty details of assembling the frame. @@perfectcircle2783 no problems with it! Sleeping on at least a ten year old mattress with it. Mattress is way more firm than on other bedframes.

Just assembled mine. Very high quality. After a lot of reviewing of competitors I think its probably accurately priced. Any more would lose me. The headboard
could be higher especially if you are over 5’ 10”. Very solid frame. Im happy.

I know I’m late, but I used painters tape to keep the bed together because I did it by myself. I love this bed and will get another one.
What was the painters tape for?
@@davewelike I taped the legs together because I didn’t want to disassemble the bed when I changed the bedroom rug. I only came up with this idea after sweating and struggling for some minutes.

It's like going back in time to gain advanced engineering concepts. "In the Day" long ago, there were no Ryobi cordless drills, Kreg jigs, plastic of any sort, or chemical plants producing modern glue.
Joinery, particularly Japanese and Chinese, was one of the engineering techniques developed for furniture and building construction. I'm looking this bed over because it's like a /headslap. Of course. Who has to have hardware kits when you can just do this?

Unless you’ve seen one of these up close and know better, it doesn’t look that stable to me. Also, it doesn’t look like the headboard is attached, but rather sits on top of the frame at the head. If you need the bed out from the wall a bit, like in the video for the electrical outlet, I’d think the headboard might slip off the edge. That’s my take just from what I can see from the video. The price ($1,281.64 incl. tax) seems high for a mass production item, but I don't know what kind of wood it is (I doubt true walnut). I haven't priced hardwood (especially walnut) lately.
Honestly haven't had any issues with the bedframe stability. The headboard has never fallen on me. It gets sandwiched between the mattress and the wall. Not if you try and moved the bedframe around the room it may be more difficult than other bedframes that are nailed together. The perk is it's easy to build and take apart unlike bedframes that have screws.
How do you feel about the “headboard” cushion. I wish it had slots to go into to stay put. Have you noticed issues of it moving constantly or waking up and it’s off the bed?
Also, any mattress will work (i know you need your size. But if it’s a queen, any queen will work? TIA
The cushion hasn't fallen off yet. It's fairly tight between the mattress and the wall. Would be nice to have a string that could wrap around the bedframe as a precaution. I'd assume match the bedframe size with the standard mattress size and it should fit.

I can't quite tell, but does the mattress come with the bed? On the website, they list a mattress. I just can't tell if they are separate costs or if the cost includes the whole thing including the mattress.
I believe they started selling a thuma mattress but that will probably be a additional cost.

Is the bed squeaky/noisy when tossing or turning during sleep? Is the bed frame still solid and stable after almost 1 year?
I'll probably do a follow up video in the next couple weeks. We're supposed to be getting new floors. On carpet the frame hasn't moved and still doesn't make any noise.

Did anyone put something between slats and mattress to prevent splinters? The slat wood is pretty raw
I have a water proof bed sheet wrapped around the mattress. I don't know if that would help for splinters though.

How does it look all made-up? The ads make the frame look pretty but they also have a tight comforter and who does that? So I figured in actual use it’s just a wood frame… no one will see the nice bits. ?

It simply sits behind it. It doesn't connect.
This video convinced me to not waste my money. The shaking bed is exactly what I want to avoid. Thank you for actually demonstrating its function; it saved me time, money, and sanity.

Do we need to add some Non-Slippery Padding underneath the Bed legs to avoid slipping the bed on a hardwood surface? If yes does anyone know the good padding company which fits the thuma bed legs according to its size
I swapped out my floor from carpet to luxury vinyl. The bedframe hasn't moved. So I don't think you need that cushion.
@@davewelike So on hardwood floor, it won't move at all if it does move can you suggest any nonslippery padding which is specifically made for Thuma bed legs?

I loved the video! I really wanna buy one of the thuma beds but Im still undecided, its because of the price and the size, I’m 6,5 and I don’t know if this bed would be perfect, I bought two different beds in the last 3 years and both have been just like 2 foot shorter which has been a problem to me ;( what would you recommend ? PD: does the mattress come with the bed or not?
Thanks! This does not include the mattress. Thuma The Bed is a bedframe. Go to a mattress store and try out each mattress. You should be looking for a cal king size.

That foot shaking at 14:13 concerns me about the quality of this frame.
I mean I was wobbling the foot as I was shaking the mattress. I don't think many people do that at night. Also your body weight helps push the frame together too.
@@davewelike That makes sense, It's probably not a good option for someone with kids as it gets constantly wobbled so my thinking about a good frame is that nothing should move but it's pretty hard finding that nowadays. Still a good option for a portable frame and good thing is it's made of solid wood.
@@mac2805 for kids that do have to jump up to get on the bed, I could see them kicking the mattress which would move it off the bedframe. Probably want a bedframe that holds the mattress in place more.
I suggest get a rubber mallet and have two people put it together.
I would've rather they added triangular braces on each corner for more stability. I'm too heavy to trust that lol.

I didn't use one. Our mattress is 10 years old and it seems very firm now with this bedframe.
Yeah this is a platform bed. Just put the mattress right on top of it. No need for box spring.

It's easy to setup, minimal, and sturdy. The mattress we put on it is 10 years old spring. You'd never know with it being on Thuma it's not bouncy at all.

I don't understand why your wife was so insistent on "centering" the bed while it was being assembled. 🤔
She was afraid that the bedframe would fall apart if we tried to center it afterwards. We didn't know if it would be secure enough to move it. Seems like it kind of is. Definitely need to be more careful with Thuma than a typical bedframe.

I recently bought a Thuma mattress and the mattress smelled like rubber months after, as of now they are telling me that I cannot get a refund. This product is obviously defective and off gassing. DISHONEST COMPANY!

Yes I have had the hedboard fall a little onto me. The mattress sometimes gets too far away from the wall so I just have to shove the mattress closer to the wall to sandwhich the headboard.
