This is by far my fav tribute to my two favs of the show as it's done so well.. god, they were everything, and stayed by one another until the very end.. literally.. not to mention, when Ivar said he was afraid, it wasn't because he was afraid of dying; he was afraid of being forgotten, of not having done enough with his life.. but Hvitserk made sure he knew that his name would be remembered long after that day.. and I think this edit captured their complicated relationship perfectly.. "not today" :((
I remember how totally confused I was when Hvitserk jumped from that boat, deserted Ubbe and took Ivar's side. It didn't make any sense to me ( or to anyone else including Hvitserk himself and his other brothers ) considering that Ubbe was the one who usually took care of Ivar when they were growing up, who joked around with him, who helped him and took his side. And Hvitserd and Ubbe were like two peas in a pot. I just couldn't comprehend why the writers chose Hvitserk to pick Ivar over Ubbe. But I was happy about it since I knew Ivar needed guidance, he needed his family around him. Needed a brother to love him and support him. And then, it became my favourite brother relationship in Vikings. Ivar's death was so beautifully done because he had his brother close by, who loved him. He wasn't alone. This video was so perfect, I cried.
I can't stop crying,i can't stop crying nor saying goodbye to Ivar, he owns my heart with no effort at all and he will hold it forwvwr. These two were the real love story of the show and I hope to see them reunite in vallalla sequel
The fact that Alex and Marco are good friends in real life made it even more poignant.. sort of like the bond they had in short film “Uro” ( where Alex was the cheeky crazy guy and Marco was more laid back one )
Ivar wanted to die on the battlefield so badly and desperately and he knew his sickness was gonna kill him sooner or later so he decided to use this last battle as an excuse to kill himself on the battlefield ❤
This is exactly why Hvitserk's christening doesn't make sense he wanted to meet with his brother in Vallhala I'm so mad that i know that didn't happen 🥺
