Ingredients
For Boiling Noodles
2 packs Noodles (नूडल्स)
2 ltr Water (पानी)
2 tbsp Salt (नमक)
2 tbsp Oil (तेल)
For Chow Mein
2 tbsp Oil (तेल)
2 medium Onions - sliced (प्याज़)
5-6 cloves Garlic - chopped (लहसुन)
3 fresh Green Chillies - chopped (हरी मिर्च)
1 inch Ginger - chopped (अदरक)
1 medium Red Bell Pepper - julienned (रेड बैल पेपर)
1 medium Capsicum - julienned (शिमला मिर्च)
½ medium Cabbage - shredded (पत्ता गोभी)
Boiled Noodles (उबले हुए नूडल्स)
½ tsp Red Chilli Sauce (रेड चिली सॉस)
¼ tsp Soya Sauce (सोया सॉस)
Spring Onions (प्याज़ पत्ता)
For Sauces Mixture
1 tbsp Vinegar (सिरका)
1 tsp Red Chilli Sauce (रेड चिली सॉस)
1 tsp Green Chilli Sauce (ग्रीन चिली सॉस)
1 tsp Soya Sauce (सोया सॉस)
½ tsp Powdered Sugar (पिसी हुई चीनी)
For Powdered Spices
½ tsp Garam Masala (गरम मसाला)
¼ tsp Degi Red Chilli Powder (देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर)
Salt to taste (नमक स्वादानुसार)
For Egg Mixture
1 Egg (अंडा)
½ tsp Red Chilli Sauce (रेड चिली सॉस)
¼ tsp Vinegar (सिरका)
¼ tsp Soya Sauce (सोया सॉस)
For Garnish
Spring Onions (प्याज़ पत्ता)
Process
For Boiling Noodles
In a large pot heat water, salt and bring it to a rolling boil then add the raw noodles and let them cook.
Once cooked remove in a strainer and apply oil and keep aside for further use.
For Sauces Mixture
In a bowl add vinegar, red chilli sauce, green chilli sauce, soya sauce, powdered sugar and mix everything properly and keep aside for further use.
For Powdered Spices
In a bowl add garam masala, degi red chilli powder, salt and mix everything then keep aside for further use.
For Chow Mein
In a pan heat oil and add onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies and saute for a few seconds.
Now add red bell pepper, capsicum, cabbage and saute for a minute on high heat.
Then add boiled noodles, prepared sauces mixture, spices mixture, red chilli sauce, soya sauce and toss it properly until well mixed.
Continue cooking for a minute then switch off the flames and add spring onions.
Serving immediately and garnish it with spring onion.
For Egg Mixture
In a bowl add egg, red chilli sauce, vinegar, soya sauce and mix everything properly and make an omelet.
Then cut it into strips and serve along with Chow mein to make it an egg chow mein.

Chowmein and chit-chat with a loved one just hit differently, right? How about adding cooking together to mix, too! We’ve split this tasty Veg Chowmein recipe so that you can make it with your loved one. It’s minimum effort, maximum fun and half the cooking time, too when this spicy delight is made by two. Both slurp, both cook! Only fair, right?*
Cooking time with better half: 23 minutes
Chef 1
Ingredients:
2 packs Noodles
2 ltr Water
2 tbsp Salt
2 medium Onions - sliced
5-6 cloves Garlic - chopped
3 fresh Green Chillies - chopped
1 inch Ginger - chopped
1 medium Red Bell Pepper - julienned
1 medium Capsicum - julienned
½ medium Cabbage - shredded
½ tsp Garam Masala
¼ tsp Degi Red Chilli Powder
Salt to taste
Procedure:
In a large pot heat water, salt and bring it to a rolling boil. Then add the raw noodles and let them cook. Ask Chef 2 to keep an eye on it.
As the noodles cook, chop the vegetables mentioned in the ingredients list. Once you are done, pass your labour of love along with some good vibes to Chef 2.
In a bowl add garam masala, degi red chilli powder, salt and mix everything. Hand over this spice mix to Chef 2 for further use.
Chef 2
Ingredients:
2 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Vinegar
1 tsp Red Chilli Sauce
1 tsp Green Chilli Sauce
1 tsp Soya Sauce
½ tsp Powdered Sugar
Procedure:
Once the noodles have boiled, drain the water out of them. Add some oil to the noodles and keep them aside for further use.
In a bowl add vinegar, red chilli sauce, green chilli sauce, soya sauce, powdered sugar, and mix everything properly and keep aside for further use.
Chef 2, it’s time for you to combine Chef1’s and your efforts. That means, tossing the noodles with the vegetables and the sauces.
In a pan heat some oil. Add onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies to it and saute for a few seconds.
Now add red bell pepper, capsicum, cabbage and saute for a minute on high heat.
Then add boiled noodles, prepared sauces mixture, spices mixture, red chilli sauce, soya sauce and toss it properly until well mixed. Continue cooking for a minute then switch off the flame and add the spring onions. Voila! Your Chomein is now ready to be devoured.

I've hit gold. Perfect flavor. Fantastic chow mein. For anyone who wants to follow in my footsteps, these are the ingredients, proportions and directions I used for a one person, one bowl serving.
I'm using ching's red chili sauce and ching's green chili sauce.
1. Chop 0.5 onion, 1 spring onion, 0.5 tbsp ginger (1 tbsp is too much), 2 cloves garlic, 1 green chili, 0.5 green bell pepper. Prepare cabbage.
2. Boil water, add 0.5 tsp salt, add 0.5 cake noodles. cook until soft
3. Sauce mix - Add 1 tbsp kikkoman soy, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 0.5 tbsp green chili sauce, 0.5 tbsp red chili sauce, 0.5 tbsp roasted sesame oil (new ingredient, for great aroma), 0.5 tsp salt (important), 0.5 tsp garam masala, 0.5 tsp degi mirch chili powder, 1 tsp sugar (this is important. You want the saltiness and sweetness to balance with the chili sauces tanginess and green chili spiciness)
4. Use a wok. Heat up. Add 1 tbsp peanut oil (high boiling point, ideal for wok use), add in onions, ginger, garlic, chilis.
5. Once aromatic and browning, Add bell pepper and cabbage.
6. Once cabbage is wilting, add drained noodles. mix well.
7. Pour in sauce mix and combine well. Reduce wetness, let it dry out in heat.
8. Transfer to bowl, garnish with spring onion.
Absolutely perfect and balanced flavorful chow mein Indian style. Hope this helps.
Chef Ranveer ji, I made this for dinner last night, it was very delicious. I added snow peas, broccoli and tofu along with other veggies. When I saw your video I was tempted to make, so I bought a good quality wok and used it for the first time to make this. Thank you for sharing this recipe along with all the instructions. I prepped completely before putting the wok on stove and it was a great experience of cooking smoothly as prep work is very important.
