You have no idea how much this helped me!!! I've been looking everywhere for a soft, non scratchy metallic yarn. Its for the cuffs and trim on a toddler hoodie, so couldn't be plasticy or scratchy AT ALL! Every one i found was crazy expensive, like $17 for 100 yards. Your video inspired me to cut fine strips from a length of gold lamé: quarter inch wide, knit up on #6 needles. It's working GREAT so far, knitting up really squishy on those small needles, with a really soft, silky hand! And on those tiny strips, Wendy's loop loop pull through method made the joins almost invisible.. Thanks so much!
Awesome tips Vickie. I used your last method with the black and white fabric to rip chiffon and turn it into yarn. I feel like such a big girl now. :)))))
Hi Vickie, I live in Carmichael CA. I am just starting to learn how to make yarn from T-shirts. I am going to use the yarn to crochet a border for turning a sweatshirt into a jacket.
Hello Vickie.... I wasn't home from work on time to watch. Darn. The replay was informative and helpful!! TFS! Enjoy your holiday in Palm Springs!! ❤xo💜xo💙xo💛xo💖xo💚
Love the join using the slit method will try it, what do you think of plarn yarn have you used it I haven't used it yet. Thank you for sharing and as always love, laughter and happy crafting.
Yes! I actually did an episode of this series on it. I've made a lunch bag with it, and also have instructions for mats for the homeless up on my site: vickiehowell.com/2018/03/plarn/
Susan! You sound like me. I'm finishing up 8 "Teddy" puppies for my great nieces and nephews! I have one completely done, 36superman/supergirls chevrons to finish embroidering with their initials and have two more to go, and then it's time to construct the last 7 of them (I decided to go production line with the 7 after the first one was done). The puppies themselves are all knitted. Do you give the afghans to them as you get them done? I was thinking about doing that in the future. My brother's kids are having a lot of babies! :-)
i live in beautiful central Oregon. this weekend i sewed some knit/crochet project bags with the help of a video from hueloco.com. the first and second bags i sewed weren't the best, but the third one turned out pretty good.

I'm crocheting rugs out of pot hold
When I was a kid made pot holders with these bands. If you slip them together you can make a fabric and crochet a nice rug.
love this video. I want to make yarn from jersey yardage; there is so much amazing fabric to use
Have fun!
Hi I am in Northern Ireland enjoying your post
At the moment I am currently in Garden City, Idaho in severe sciatic pain. So I am chilling on the sofa watching you.!
Fell better!
You can also use the bias tube method to sew your fabric before you cut the strips - gives you yards of joined fabric "yarn" by sewing only one seam.
Braided rugs, it’s what comes to my mind
Thank you so much, exactly what I was looking for , for a weaving project I’m working on
Great! Be sure to tag me with your finished work! @vickiehowell

I'm working on some baby/toddler circular crochet vest.
Nice! Thank you. I like the Knit Collage yarn, but it's pretty pricey. This is a good alternative to that yarn.

I wonder if you can use the whipping method with tshirt yarn, if it's a big wider or more hefty.
Do you think it would be ok to join the pieces of fabric with fabritac instead?
