I have listened to a lot of pianists. In this multitude of musical styles an interpretation can sometimes surprise you. With you it is special that you can touch someone's soul. That is a special gift. Come to Holland and I will definitely have a front row seat.
    Greetings Bob Oosthoek

A masterpiece played by a true master! I can’t imagine getting a better holiday season gift from Ms. Beatrice Berrut. While most of the pianists played Schubert’s G major piano sonata in about 35min on average, Beatrice played it in 36min and 24 seconds and moved it to a whole new unmatched and hard-to-reach level, she is truly one of our time’s piano whisperer!
Franz Schubert (1797-1828) composed some of the most beautiful musical pieces ever made in history of classical music, however, and to the best of my knowledge, he never got the public recognition he deserves. He had a very short and uneventful life; most of his compositions published after his death at the age of 31. In fact, his wonderful C-major Symphony was unknown until discovered among his papers by Schumann during his visit to Vienna in 1838, ten years after Schubert passed away.
Schubert composed 12 complete solo piano sonatas, only three of them published during the composer's lifetime including the Sonata in G, D. 894. Sadly he was mainly eclipsed by Beethoven's and other musical giants of his era, his sonatas largely fell into anonymity for nearly a century before being recovered by other pianists and audiences, so he never enjoyed the fame he deserved during his short life ☹ The G-Major must have been very special to Schubert as three of his most beautiful pieces are written in this emotional key signature.
I highly recommend listening/playing Schubert Serenade (Ständchen) in D minor to those who wants to become more familiar with this composer- what a heavenly piece of music, one of the most touching and emotional melodies ever made in my opinion.
I TRULY WISH one day Beatrice plays and posts Schubert’s Ständchen firstly in recognition and in memory of Schubert, secondly, and selfishly, for us 😊, I believe Ständchen is a perfect piano piece for her unique emotional key touch and I am sure she will make an unforgettable interpretation, like what she has done in her Bach’s Siciliano performance.
Sorry for long comment! Happy Holiday Beatrice, thank you again, we wish you all the best in 2021 and please keep sharing your talent

Maestro, Liebe Beatrice Eine hervorragende Interpretation dieser Schubertsonate. Bravo………

Utterly gorgeous. This performance, too, is surely the "most perfect in form and conception". The more vibrant parts are wonderfully precise and polished to perfection. And yet the softer parts are so gentle and contemplative that it almost seems you are playing the piano directly with your heart. I found this late last night, and then stayed up later than I planned, since I just had to hear the whole thing. Such a joy to hear. Thank you.

So cool you took time to listen to the whole piece! A very long sonata indeed, but I think the sense of this length is to make you enter a meditative state, a sort of mindfulness you wouldn't achieve without the many repetitions of themes...

I’ve been nothing short of obsessed with Richter’s Decca recording of this wonderful masterpiece for as long as I can remember.
Many other recordings and performances are available and I believe I’ve listened to most.
Despite the many, obvious differences with Richter’s unique and irresistible interpretations, this is just marvellous. For starters, the piano, and particularly the recording, are superb compared to those offered by others - Schiff may have been right all along about Bosendorfers. But most of all I just loved the musicianship - an artist so obviously as big a fan of this piece as me; and the rubato - maybe excessive to some ears - was for mine, heartfelt and apt. Bravo.

This is outstandingly played. I'm majoring in flute as I got seduced strongly by the orchestral music but the piano is the instrument that introduced me to the music, I started playing since I was 5 and to see it played like this, with such technique, softness, precision and power at the same time is definitely great to see and appreciated.
One of the toughest things to do as a musician is to make repetitions non-repetitive, to keep the listener focused and interested in the flow of the ideas despite having the same notes in the sheet, and you do it flawlessly, I wish I could do it as easy as you with my instrument.
Excelent performance! Congratulations! Greetings from Mexico. :)

Perfect, indeed, both the Sonata and how you play it..love the slow, meditative opening. Schubert's music is the closest thing to feelling the presence of God in the world, all the Hindu dieties rolled into one, for me, on the emotional level even more than Bach. Perhaps i am influenced by Bresson's use of Schubert in Au Hasard Balthazar....So I am happy you are savoring each chord, each phrase..

I totally agree with you, I think Bösendorfer grand pianos have this warm Viennese sound needed for Schubert. Best wishes, Beatrice
