Next time on a military installation just contact the public affairs office. They will be able to give you more info on what you can and can’t film or take pictures of. I was active duty for 12 years and my favorite duty post was in Germany. Much love from Tx🤙

Being born, and raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina, next to Camp Lejeune, and being a civilian. It is not that difficult to get onto a military base. All you have to do is get a visitors pass and state why you’re there. They have civilians that work on the base as well as military. And tropical smoothie is a franchise. They’re everywhere!😂

Sometimes I wish they would just google the place they are visiting. When they said Tropical Smoothie, I was like wtf?!? Mom and pop shop?!? Military owned?!?! It's a common chain that is commonly franchised out. I like watching them but the ignorance that could be cured by a simple google search somtimes....ugh!

As soon as they started filming in front of the gates like that I was like 😮and came to the comments! To a point it was alright, but they shouldn’t have included the clip of the “explosives” truck 😅Yeah they might be contacted. You are not allowed to film on bases like that..if they just cut the clip where they even mention it & show that truck, the video would have been fine. The thing that people don’t understand about “why” you cannot film bases, is because of literal National Security! “No big deal” right? 😂yikes. I don’t know what’s behind those gates, but it’s obviously a restricted area - which they shouldn’t be filming. Yep.
The military personnel would have said something if they had a problem with it.

Me as an army vet and grew up a military brat….. I love watching y’all’s excitement about being on a base cuz that’s the norm all my life lol. Did yall see on your receipt there was no taxes? You should of gotten groceries at the commissary or go shopping at the PX
If I had a free pass for a few hours, I would have gotten some shirts, hats, carry out rotisserie chicken from the store. They definitely didn't use the most from that pass.. Plus they saw the gas prices and said no... Tax free shopping 😵💫😵💫

@@aestheticallyAriit really depends on the base. I worked at AAFES my junior and senior year in high school and the I.D. Checkers at the entrance would just smile and wave at everyone and not every cashier asked to see I.D.s either.

I lived next to a military base and when i was a teen; which was many years ago, some friends and i were driving in an area of the base we shouldn't have been in and were chased by a helicopter! It was just like the movies. Once we were out of there it left us alone. Just thought I'd share that with you. 🤣 Have fun guys and stay safe.
I had a tropical smoothie cafe at my college. It was pretty good.
You guys should try a place called The Que Barbeque and Brew. They have deep fried deviled eggs which are AMAZING. They're topped with pulled pork and a house made bbq sauce. They also have HUGE mac n cheese plates. I think y'all will LOVE it ❤
I've had military grub at the Great Lakes Naval training base in Illinois back in 1990 had breakfast and the Breakfast sausage was half cooked and the scrambled eggs were runny 🤢🤮 the only descent food was the bisquits and sausage gravy and the chocolate filled croissants and the coffee was pretty good 😊. Good video guy's 👈🏻👍🏼👍🏼
For me it's cool seeing a military base since I've never seen one. I know the cafe is worldwide known, but I loved the military experience.
Just in case no one said, (not reading the comments) the commissary is the on base grocery store. I'm a former Military wife and I miss the commissary so much, especially now lol

I never knew it was like this either until I visited one of my close friends and her husband. A three story home, HUGE house, an entire community, restaurants, grocery stores, regular stores. It was crazy to me. It's only 20 minutes from where I live and just a totally different life.
I find it absolutely wild that did all of this for freaking Tropical Smoothie, LMAO. We have these in Maryland, and they are just mid. It absolutely is not a mom & pop shop, lol. There are like 10 of them in Baltimore alone from what I just looked up.. blegh.
You two are so silly. I think it's amazing that military wives and husbands are able to work within the community as any other normal society. I can only imagine life can become meaningless and daunting and confusing being married to someone in the military. My brother and his wife have been together since he joined the Marines out of high school. I personally saw how unbelievably difficult it was. His wife is a very strong woman and never left his side even through their struggles and continents apart distance for around 8 years. I could never do it!
Oh, lastly, I accidentally drove through a base in Norfolk VA like 7 years ago and I was SO scared. I felt like such a moron and thought I was going to have guns pointed at me. I somehow was able to do a 3 point turn without being confronted 😂

I’ve been to an Army base and an Air Force base. They both had their charms, but the Army base was huge and had way more restaurants on base.
