    Buying a suppressor was the biggest let down for me.
    It cost nearly as much as the weapon I put it on, paperwork, paperwork, paperwork, and the wait time was insane.
    All that and I didn't find it any more enjoyable than shooting unsuppressed. It's more of a conversation piece than anything.
    I won't be buying another.

      @@M81_WOODLAND I completely agree. I only got mine because I am allowed to shoot at my range at night with a can so it was a utility purchase.
      The only other cans I want is a Huxwrx and if someone would sell me one, the shrimp gang wolverine knock off.
      The Putnik looks neat for the price but I keep hearing they back off pretty bad.

      @KalashKamaz my friend had a putnik and it was horrible a ton of QC issues. I'll stick with my wolverine. I own many silencers and if I were to do it again I'd own a wolverine, sig slx, and surefire rc3. I enjoy suppressed and use them with my nvgs. Granted ARs need RTV on the charging handles and then they are perfect don't by a 100 dollar gas buster.

      Ammo and host weapon are factors. The biggest factor is the setting. If you’re going to a loud range, I get it. But sooner or later if you’re around guns, you’ll be exposed to someone else’s ND, and mounting the hearing protection on the muzzle makes a safer environment for everyone.

      @@nickolasthefrog well for the most part that’s true. One can simply just not enjoy it regardless of the benefits.
      Also, it should not matter if you were exposed to ND’s. You wear PPE on a hot range. You don’t carry chambered on a cold range.I RO, im exposed to ND’s all the time. I would prefer they do not run suppressed so they stop wasting everybody’s time when they have to re-run because the timer didn’t pick up their last shot.

    Interesting, so you're telling me anytime I have a NFA item that is getting cerakote, lazoring, or even gunsmithing I need to do a Form 5 ?

    • @KalashKamaz
      @KalashKamaz  3 місяці тому

      Yes. For the gunsmith to take possession of the firearm and put it in inventory you’ll have to do a tax exempt transfer. Anything that is ‘gunsmithing’ as its defined, including cerakoting a serialized receiver, has to be transferred.
      As far as bringing it to a Smith and having him do work while youre present, I have to be honest that I’m not entirely clear since the P80 ruling. It used to be that you just had to be in the room while they were working on the item to be exempt from the transfer as you technically still had possession of the item, but I am aware that that has changed and I am not entirely sure what the changes were so that one you’re gonna have to ask 07. That’s a more specific scenario but common enough.
