Hey guys, great to see you all back here! And great to have a neighbour like Johannes. Actually, I was planning to take the tent down for my leaving, but Johannes was so kind to offer 'tent duty' for the short period. It almost didn't snow in January. But then there was just one night when it came down all at once. If I would have been there, I might have woken up in a collapsed tent. I also considered to reinforce the poles, but the manufacturer discouraged that idea, because the poles are designed to collapse first. Otherwise the tent fabric would probably tear, which is more difficult to repair. With 20cm there could be as much as 500kg of snow on the tent. Anyway, this is part of living outdoors in winter. All good in the end.
Thanks Martijn, we are so happy to see you back and all is well with the world. I hope you had an awesome holiday. Greetings from New Zealand at 5.22 am

Boil water with snow, Pour hot water around the water pipe, the ice will melt and the water will flow. beware of fire. Waiting for weekly video updates, nice to see you back. It is useful to put water in a large kettle or large pot and boil a lot of warm water over a wood fire. Washing dishes, showering, washing clothes, thawing frozen soil…
The saying "A good neighbour is worth more than faraway friends" really shined here. Massive probs to Johannes for being such a goodhearted and kind person and neighbour!
You have a great friend! I’ve been worried about your place. I live in Colorado and some towns have over 300 inches of snow. January has had more snow than the last eight years than I have lived here. I thought that there was going to more snow on the ground at your place. Take care be safe. Glad your back. 😊
Really laughed when Johannes quickly built the story of how the pole repair was in line with your thinking on using local materials. Not only a fine neighbour and kind man - but also a wit 😂
Johannes isn't just an absolute saint of a person, he's also freaking hilarious. If the tent hadn't collapsed maybe we never would have had this gem. What a guy!

Wow Martijn, you have finally gotten your scaffolding down and your gutters are astounding. Such craftsmanship. Very well done. Now as you say on words to your next project 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Welcome back! I had a nasty cut on the palm of my hand from falling on ice when I was completely snowed-in. A friend (like Johannes!) drove through the snow to bring me a little can of "New Skin," a plastic spray-on bandage. Ever since, I've always kept a can around - it did a great job, and the scar is barely visible now.
Glad there was not much damage to your tent. The shot of you standing looking into the valley as the sound of your coffee percolating in the background was so defining of who you are Martijin! I envy your peace! Thank you for sharing your world with us.
Welcome back. Truly a magical winter wonderland. Superb opening shots. What an amazing friend you have in Johannes. Excellent filming, music and commentary up another level, What a treat! Thank you.
Johannes is exactly the kind of neighbor that we all wish we could have, a truly good soul. Glad to see you back! I can't wait to see the progress that you make this year!
So good to have you back! Johannes is such a sweet soul. Good neighbor/friend to have. So many tasks to do when you arrive home just to get settled. But, it's good to spread your energy around the place again. Such a beautiful location. I can see why you are inspired to paint and draw it. I admire your ability to just do ... and end up with such great results with everything you touch. Yes, so good to have you back :D
The magnificence of your surroundings is quite breathtaking. The beauty of the landscape is, if anything magnified by the covering of snow. One realises the insignificance of man within such stillness. The viewer is privileged to share the beauty through your eyes, to be able to drink in the wonder of creation from your perspective. In the stillness and calm of a mountain we part take in the beauty of all you survey. Thank you for inviting us to view the world as you see it.❤️
Perhaps adding a nice wooden decking that wraps around the cabin (essentially where the front and side scaffold is now) would make a nice addition in the future!
👏BRAVO, JOHANNES!👏A huge thanks for coming through for your good friend, Martijn! Whoa, those empathy pains shot through the back of my thighs when you showed the cut on your hand, Martijn. 'glad to see you were prepared for some immediate self-care. Thank you for sharing God's beautiful landscape and His artistry in the sky. Absolutely gorgeous! 🙏🤗
Welcome back and how beautiful to see the snowy mountain tops against the blue, blue sky. Please tell Johannes "Well done" for his repairs to your tent poles and keeping the tent safe till your return.
This video has done my heart good today. What a solid person Johannes is. My goodness. May blessings abound for him. Glad to have you back on the mountain! ~Peace & Love~ 🌿🕊💕🌍
Glad to see you again. Laughed when you lifted the frozen jar. Did you set it out in the sun? Then when the hammer went flying... Knew something wasn't right. Sorry about your injury. You must heal quickly. I feel such a spiritual kinship with you. I'd drink your coffee, eat your food, and paint along side of you or maybe in my own tent. I'm "at home" with you. I would gladly do tasks for you and help with problem solving. I know a bit of autocad and designing. For years I've played with house floorplans. I started big, then went small wondering how much space do I truly need to be comfortable in my life. I'm down to 400sf at the present time. I used to live in a 175sf camper. Not enough room for my art supplies. Thanks for the info on duck tape. I didn't know that it doesn't work in the cold. 🤔 Good to know. But I would have tried warming up the surface before applying the tape. Or warmed the tape after applying. So how did you repair the stovepipe sleeve? And yes, Johannes is a good man. I'd like him to be my neighbor too. Must admit I was feeling cold when you returned. Wasn't feeling up to all the work you were doing. I was back in the tent staying warm making soup. The beauty of your surroundings speaks to my heart and soul. The pink reflecting sunset on the snow was captivatingly beautiful. I'd be painting sunsets or snapping pictures. Excellent gutter work. Of course you don't need praise on a job well done. How many coats of varnish did you use? And how many coats is too much? Thank you again, and again... for sharing your life with me (and with everyone else). I suppose I can share you with the rest of the world. Janet Charleston, SC, USA

I love Johannes' sense of humour. Where would any of us be without traditional duct (gaffer) tape!
I've been recommended your video's over and over. And just last week I watched the 3 hour one. I gotta say, I was entranced from the get go. In the mean time I watched everything from ep 40 till now, and have been waiting for this one. Thank you so much for the immense amount of work, and the ability to transport everyone right there with you.
What a considerate guy Johannes is. So good that he has checked on your property & mended your ⛺️ tent! A fantastic friend!
Great to have ya back Martijn....And UR so talented :}...
A big shout out for fantastic neighbors ={ Johannes }...
Dear Johannes, i know i'm late i'm Austrian😉... we all need neighbours like u, that make the world a better place...
If u ever come to Innsbruck - please let me know.
All the best, barbara
Johannes humour "duct tape - the traditional building method" - top man 🤣👍🏻
Great to see you back Martijn, Johannes added some valuable assistance and great humour
Aww! Johannes is such an awesome neighbor. You are blessed! 🥰
More of Johannes pls. This dude is insane! I would love to live like u guys.
Johannes has his own UA-cam channel too.
Donjojohannes - is his UA-cam channel.
@@christinamirkovic3857 Thanks a lot
so just do it.. a lot of cheap rural properties to be had...

Finally Martijn....we were all in abstinence!!!
Wow JoJo. Infinite Love and Gratitude
Johannes, you're a good friend.
So glad you are back! Johannes is a true friend in deed & word. A dependable, true friend.
Glad there was not much damage to your tent. The shot of you standing looking into the valley as the sound of your coffee percolating in the background was so defining of who you are Martijin! I envy your peace! Thank you for sharing your world with us.
What a wonderful neighbor you have to help with recovering the tent.
What a lovely neighbour you have ❤
Welcome back. Truly a magical winter wonderland. Superb opening shots. What an amazing friend you have in Johannes. Excellent filming, music and commentary up another level, What a treat! Thank you.
Aren't we lucky to have Martijn making videos like this for us! 😀👍
Happy to have you back Martijn. Favourite notification to pop up today. 🙏🏼
What a good neighbor !!!
thank you Johannes for that kindness to Martijn.
Johannes it the man! Happy to see you back at the cabins. Take care!
Johannes is hilarous with his ducktape ..good guy
What a blessing to have a friend & neighbour like Johannes.
This video has done my heart good today. What a solid person Johannes is. My goodness.
May blessings abound for him.
Glad to have you back on the mountain!
~Peace & Love~

I’m so glad to see you back, missed the mountain huts, your calm personality and beautiful photography. Welcome back Martijn.
