Unfortunately, they also seem to be pushing the limits of how little tikets you can sell with a film that is both critically and popularly acclaimed.
I don't know if there's something wrong with the movies they choose to make, with their marketing, or it's just that stop motion doesn't sell.
I hope they don't have to close
@@cerocero2817 CG is SO overrated (I know Pixar pushes it to its limits but some companies just uses it for the sake of using it). 2D movies are dying in the cinema (despite still going strong on Television screens), and Stop Motion is stupid levels of unappreciated.
Laika need more love and now there is CHANCE they might go out of business. I think they are still good but if their next movie FLOPS, Laika dead and I don't want that to happen. Please NO. I love stop motion and I'm doing as much as I can to support them. Honestly, the only thing I CAN do is buy stuff from the official Laika online store.

I don't know how many pictures per second they used with paranorman but Kubo, took 24 Pictures per second which is kind of AMAZING!

Stop motion is for me , the most pretty art, I can’t imagine that huge work. Hours and hours of hard filming, taking shoot by shoot. Amazing
Also, LAIKA, make a version of your puppets for kids. You can even promote them by having kids animate a 2 minute scene with the puppets and submitting it for a contest. Im 31 and the kid in me would LOVE IT haha and my 12 and 5 yr old girls have grown up with LAIKA, they're favorite movies of all time are Coraline, Paranorman and Boxtrolls and they'd absolutely love having a slightly simplified version to make their own little frames with. And it also gets kids interested in stop motion at a young age, im so scared this art form will die out which is why I support LAIKA 100%. Yall are geniuses.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Disney, but recently they’ve been pushing my buttons. They’ve lacked passion in recent films. However Laika actually cares for their work.

ParaNorman has always been my favorite film of all time. I have at least watched it 6 times. Last time I did was 2 days ago. I cried a lot when Norman and the girl met.
What film is sad and funny simultaneously. What a roller coaster of emotions.
And the animation is truly remarkable.
coraline, paranorman, and kubo and the two strings are my childhood, i look forward to more of these masterpiece. everyone has done such a great work!

The movie that I want to see in this studio would be a sequel of Coraline and a dinosaur movie called dinosaur island not like the other ones you’ve known maybe not but a good one
Maybe a darker dinosur movie, one that shows how dinosaurs *really* treated each other, educational and interesting
The coraline story is based on a neil gaimans story, so for them to make a second movie they should consult him

This and Coraline were one of the movies that freaked me out but was also one of my favorite movies as a little kid
oh man, this is incredible! i absolutely love laika animations and paranorman is my favourite, even though i love all of the movies like kubo, missing link, Coraline, and more! i am actually interested in animation myself. It is a special feeling when you know how much effort the creators of each movie have put into making each film enjoyable or smooth to watch, and im all about that! its great to make people happy and it sounds like a fun, but difficult process to do, but its always worth it. if you do make a movie then decide its not worth it, keep its assets so you could reuse them for another animation since, no one knows of the movie that wasn't up to scratch, people won't know you reused some assets.
keep being inspired to make people happy, because you guys are awesome at what you do! because it sure inspires me to create something new and exciting.

This is my favorite stop motion film of all time. Such heart. The story was beautiful. So underrated and it really deserved better. The animation was stunning.

What I love about Laika movies is that every time you rewatch them, you’ll always find something new in the background. They put so much detail and love in their work and it really shows.

I am showing so much love for stop motion. So much appreciation, so much kudos to these people for putting so much love and pouring their hearts and souls into these movies. I love it so much it means so much to me.

I remember watching Paranorman as a little kid. I love it. And people that make stop motion movies should get more credit for their hard work.
I so much respect for the way they make movies, but there’s just something about the style of Laika films I don’t like. Coraline really creeped me out as a child and tbh it still does
To think you’s handcrafted every little detail in the film, that takes real practice… you’s need an Oscar. This film was brilliant and it’s the first movies I seen in theaters.

This crazy, the amount of work an effort that goes into stop motion is astounding. I got exhausted just watching it all.😲😲😲😲😲
When watching the film again I had to stop, pause it, and just take a moment to re-realize that every single thing on my screen was hand-made, positioned, placed, and animated by a person, by an entire team of different people in fact. With some of the scenes in the movie it just blows my mind that they could make everything flow so smoothly!!
