  • This week on JeepAdventures, the group heads out to Cougar Buttes near Southern California in home of the King of the Hammers, Johnson Valley for some extreme off-roading and rock crawling. During the trip we had rollovers, lots of body damage, and several vehicles broke. On the list of trails we hit, the difficult 4x4 rock crawling trails such as Hammer Down, Bull Frog, Cake Walk, Escalator, Josh's Crack, Ness's Notch, and much more
Join Joshua Noesser and try not to scream or laugh as the group does some insane stuff including one of the best self recoveries on video today.
So buckle up those seat belts, this is going to be a wild episode out in the desert.
    Recorded in 4K UHD

that's amazing you flipped yourself back on all 4s after being turned over on your side like that. You must have been turning driver to manage that. good thing you were buckled in lol

A lot happened in that short amount of time. First was the stop the roll, then it was assess to see if I could self recover. With the ledge there, I realized I had the option to get that bump between the wheels and push the vehicle back to its wheels.
      Half the fun

So could I run this in my XJ running a trussed 30 and chromoly’s in the front, a trussed 35 with a ladder bar and Superior Super 35 kit in the rear, Detroit rear and no-slip front, and 35 x 12.50 MTR’s? It’s been garaged and not driven in 8 years, but watching UA-cam videos to get ideas for my radio control scale crawlers is getting me pumped to get the ol XJ out.

Cougar Buttes is awesome as most of the obstacles have a bypass around them. So stock jeeps and buggies can go out together and everyone is good.

Is there easy there? Meaning flex out my 3.5” kit on 37s but not Rock drag and scrape? Looking to go there soon.

The fun part of Cougar Butte is if you stay out in the open areas, you can pretty much find a way around every obstacle. Just want out for the trails that go off into canyons, those are a different story.

I just don't think I could wheel that area every weekend and be happy after a few months. If that makes sense?
