It made me realize a lot of things and I am grateful to see those kind, innocent people. Since then, I subscribed here and started to have interest in travel vlogs. It is also because I like your insights.
About Djibouti: you must have visited in the midst of something unusual because it's not heavily guarded like this. Also, I'm not sure whether you had a guide because unfortunately you must have seen only the poor side of Djibouti. Djibouti has a massive gap between the rich and the poor, probably unlike you've ever seen. The rich live in absolute luxury while the poor live in outright poverty. The middle class almost non-existant. A ton of countries have an army base in Djibouti which explains in part why it's so expensive, namely the US which occupies a large part...Djibouti is a blatant example of modern day colonialism.
Brother i heard the parliament is mostly made from the presidents relatives and people he has good relations with is it true and tell me do the afar have influence in the country. Am somali btw brother and djibouti is lyk my second country. Your reply will be appreciated
I was so excited to know those 3 hidden country but at the end I was shocked because he considered my country ( Djibouti 🇩🇯) one of them😮😮. I don't think so. Btw I'm moussa from Djibouti, and I can speak FRENCH, ENGLISH, ARABIC and of course my maternal language ( SOMALI language)
I’d always think about what are my odds being born in a more secluded country with great culture. But I’m just in Texas, lol. I love learning about these different cultures ♥️
Yeah, Texas is cool...when you are from outside... otherwise as an insider, you are not really the most fortunate until you start to travel. I hear you
@@andra7076 so true!!! I took a trip to my birthstate and just the change of scenery and going outside. No huge highways just to get somewhere. Even met someone new and plan on going back there. Traveling does wonders to the soul. Currently stuck at home in Texas again lol
I was born in a very rich of history place called Transylvania. Every plus has it s minuses and the other way around. You have this but you miss that, you have that but you miss this and so on. Most importantly is to have health and strength to make the money and follow your dreams. So keep on dreaming. Being a dreamer is what brought us where we are today.
@@andra7076 that is a beautiful comment wow I really appreciate that. It made my day even. I definitely will keep the dream alive. Love and light to you
As an African precisely from Cameroon, I'll love to say thanks for this eye opening doc. I have a friend from Djibouti and have never really taken time to learn about the place. This was quite educative. Kudos.
Im American and find this comment funny. The thing is, you're right. Most Americans think the world is America. On another note, Im a teacher and asked my high school students to point to me Britain on the world map. One student eagerly got up and pointed to Brazil. *face palm* and absolutely ridiculous and sad.
I have heard of all of the countries! However, I knew little about Comoros and Djibouti...but I know a lot about Tuvalu! I am from the U.S and my parents were Peace Corps volunteers for 3.5 years in the 1980's in Vaitupu, Tuvlau before I was born. My first name, Riana, is actually the name of the prime minister's wife (Tomasi and Riana Puapua) at the time! I visited Tuvalu with my mom when I was 18 and I remember playing on the air strip. As you can see in the video, Tuvalu is laid back and peaceful.
I became familiar with Tuvalu while writing about Nauru in high school. It definitely looks like a place I'd put on my bucket list! Hopefully before the water ruins the landing strip.. Love from Sweden!
wow, I am so amazed by your videos & love it because seeing your videos make me feel that I was in those countries too. How wish I go places too like you. Be safe always bro.
Everyone in the comments “I’ve heard of these countries ” “geography nerd” blah blah blah. Yes, you might have heard of these countries but most likely don’t know anything about them. So this is very informative. Thank you drew.
The headline of the video says 3 HIDDEN COUNTRIES YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF. Hence some people said they knew/heard of these countries. If your geography is not up to scratch, don't be mad at those who're fine with theirs.
Funny enough I knew Tuvalu was sinking due to global warming, Comoros is divided between France and the local administration which affects its development while Djibouti has been occupied by foreign forces to protect the canal and right if way of ships from the developed nations for quite sometime now
Love your videos. It's like I'm going there through your eyes. It's a breath of fresh air seeing as my country new Zealand is back into level 4 lockdown
Because if your African you should know about the countries on the continent and not even knowing about the countries around you proves someone's ignorance.
Geography now is a great channel however in the last year I feel it's targeting a younger and younger audience. That's not bad of course but as a 24yo I find it less interesting than before
Hey Drew, love your videos. Could you make a video explaining how you manage to finance you trip and the influences that trip had on your social life and on your job/ job opportunities. Thanks !
I am familiar with all three countries. While living in the UAE, I taught several students from Comoros and Dijbouti. While visiting New Zealand, I discovered Tuvalu. Furthermore, I love geography, learning about unfamiliar countries.
Thank you very much Drew for the video. I know the countries you mentioned and their locations. About 25 years ago, a close friend and her husband spent their honey moon in Comoros, so that's how I heard of Comoros. And the other way I learned about these countries is through studying world maps and regions of the world, as watching global events like the Olympics in which you see many countries being represented and also through reading different types of books.
The feeling when you know all of these hidden countries. :D Edit: oo thanks for 285 likes, I never reached mo than 10. :D Edit 2: 302?! Eeeeh tysm! ♥ Edit 3: 310 OwO Edit4: Oh 364? >W< I Edut 5: heck 379? Oh thanks!

@@EliaS-nv8sp yes but, yes but, yes but... Nutella is ITALIAN. Belongs to Ferrero. Ferrero is Italian. Period. Well, I have heard of these countries, since I truly like history and geography. Never had I, however, learned some of the stuff you presented. Thanks for the information.
I know this is being pedantic, but *technically* Comoros is the 170th LARGEST country, not the 170th smallest, because that would be the 27th largest at the same time and that's Bolivia
You're not being pedantic. When you are an influencer like this dude, you have a responsibility to spend a bit of time reviewing your copy before recording and publishing.
Wonderful! I grew up collecting stamps so of course ive heard of these places - but nice to be finally putting a face with the name lol. Sounds like you are living your best life - thank you for sharing! (Pro-tip - if you want your kids to grow up to be 'smart', encourage them to collect stamps. I cant tell you how many times in my life I've been asked "how did you know that?" And I always answer "Doesn't everybody?") Djbouti!!
In fourth grade we got our first and only world geography books. In case I forgot anything, a friend bowled me over by showing me his stamp collection (his mom worked in an international bank), and I could never resist collecting ever since. So I learned not only about Djibouti, but Obock too, across the bay from the city of Djibouti. They issued some flashy stamps in the 1890s for collectors. It has popped up here and there since then. Teilhard de Chardin stopped there on his way to China to visit French friend and family. A while back the US established military bases there. The country of Djibouti was called French Somaliland before independence.
Thanks for great job Brother, Im from South African , honestly it's 1st time ,I'm hearing abt these countries, It really makes me more greatful and appreciate more the privelleges we have as South Africans , May God Abraham bless those people and change their lives.

That sounds sad. Hopefully it gets better
Brother i heard the parliament is mostly made from the presidents relatives and people he has good relations with is it true and tell me do the afar have influence in the country. Am somali btw brother and djibouti is lyk my second country. Your reply will be appreciated

Im American and find this comment funny. The thing is, you're right. Most Americans think the world is America. On another note, Im a teacher and asked my high school students to point to me Britain on the world map. One student eagerly got up and pointed to Brazil. *face palm* and absolutely ridiculous and sad.
I second you 😂
Hahahaha
Yeah! Me too

wow, I am so amazed by your videos & love it because seeing your videos make me feel that I was in those countries too.

I know of Djibouti but just learned about the other two! Thanks for sharing!

Nutella is ITALIAN not French
Yes but most supermarkets in Djibouti are french and the Nutella they sell was targeted to the french market.... so ingredients etc in french

Right, I also noticed this, I even replayed this part just to make sure I heard right.
Lol
You're not being pedantic. When you are an influencer like this dude, you have a responsibility to spend a bit of time reviewing your copy before recording and publishing.

Wonderful! I grew up collecting stamps so of course ive heard of these places - but nice to be finally putting a face with the name lol.
Sounds like you are living your best life - thank you for sharing!
(Pro-tip - if you want your kids to grow up to be 'smart', encourage them to collect stamps. I cant tell you how many times in my life I've been asked "how did you know that?" And I always answer "Doesn't everybody?")
Djbouti!!
I just posted here about the value of collecting stamps!
Being a student of Geography I knew the names not only these almost every place on earth!!
At first you might think you know something, or everything, in the end you realize you know nothing
I knew all this from Geography
@@falahnur5871 I said in the context of geography dude don't throw philosophy at me😂😂
