the euro spec S12 from the thumbnail tho. euro spec tail lights are incredibly difficult to find and look sooooooo good on USDM mk1 cars with a mk2 SE lip kit and spoiler
My 5k car story: Last summer I got an mk5 supra and wanted to find a reliable car for the winter to keep the supra put up. Took MONTHS. But I found a 1 owner, gigantic folder of maintenance, 30 pages of carfax, including gaskets which are the number 1 problem.... buick century. With 85k miles. I felt like I hit the lottery. It's immaculate, grandpa maintained. It's certainly not fun or cool... but it's perfect. And cheap, easy maintenance. So it's hard but you definitely can find good stuff!
Hey, your website is actually awesome, but is it possible to add some sort of "choose your own car" custom search for cars not listed? Or perhaps request a car? I don't know how difficult the programming is to add cars if there's some sort of assisted AI learning it has to do or if it's as easy as typing in a new car name. Some vehicles that come to mind are GSXRs (you only have Hayabusa and SV650) and the less popular sporty Kei cars like the Subaru Vivio RX-R, Suzuki Alto Works, etc. I'm risking shooting myself in the foot by bringing attention to them, but whatever, I'm also helping to keep tabs and find one I might want.

For me my dream car has always been a Mitusbishi Eclipse 2nd Gen "as stupid as it sounds i know lol" but you can barely find one in a good and unmolested running condition nowadays since most of them either are rusted to hell, have a blown engine or are Paul Walker's tribute car projects "don't get me wrong about the last one, the guy was a cool actor and stuff but haven't we seen enough of those tribute cars already?" I also understand the "Get a GS-T/GSX dude, AWD 4G63 engine bro, so sick no cap frfr" but here's the thing, the latter is pretty much impossible to find here in Puerto Rico therefore you'll have to settle with the weaker Chrysler engine one unless you swap it for something better. But as they say beggars can't be choosers
Last year I picked up my affordable dream car which was a 1989 lx mustang. Not very fast stock but I’m swapping a built 351w in it. Never fails to make me smile driving it around.
I like how not only are all the cars in the video ones I posted in the podcast chat, I seem to be one of the only two people who actually got excited over that packard. If I had the money, I'd buy that sucker and have a great time fucking about with it.
The Packard is dope. There's so many old 40's and 50s cars that I'd be down to own. And outside of the Tri Five Chevy's, I think that market by in large is about to seriously drop off. And prices my really come down on most of the cars of that era.
@@CollectorCarFeed I'd find a way to daily it by either sourcing wear components for the drivetrain or immediately planning a swap for when the engine can't handle me. Something about pre-war and early post war car design just sings to a time where things had to be built to satisfy the kind of people that made do with as little as possible. The way the car looks, that old school aero design, calls back to boy racers of the 20s and 30s who had to juice their rides to get business done in a harsh time. Plus, a set of fat wheels under a skirt makes for a seriously cool silhouette. If I had that thing, I'd drive it til one of us kicked the bucket either as a daily or a funday car. Of course, I'd have to have a source on wear parts like plugs, and finding a gasket for that things smoking could be a real bitch, but the fact that it runs means that the major stuff is still there and in running condition so the biggest headache would be updating spark so im not relying on a shitty distibutor from the land of cheap steel. On the bright side, there are plenty of old fossils that still love this era and have a monthly meet where they and the younger scene showoff their cars. There's 20's all the way up to present day cars most of the time, a neighbor at the other house I lived had a 66 mercury comet custom that I talked and helped out with when I replaced my trucks power steering pump and radiator. At the time he decided his kids wanted to keep it and started working on it again to drive it to the show instead of him and his shop buddy trailering it looking for buyers. If I had the stones to pony up the 4k he asked for it, I woulda bought it and start messing with it to make it a second daily or just a fun off day car.
@@LukemDakuwa Ive actually thought of getting one of those old Chevy Fleetline torpedo coupes and swapping out that I6 and sticking in a Buick 3800 Supercharged engine along with a 5 speed manual on the floor. That or I do a Turbo setup on a 60s GM 292 I6 on one or an early- late 50's Truck/Suburban.
For me my obtainable dream car is literally my neighbors mustang. Sure, one day I want a Blue C5 Z06, but I love that 01 Bullitt a hell of a lot more. Even if it's slow, even if the interior is cheap and it needs a lot of cosmetic work, it's what I fell in love with.

As a big s12 guy (I had an SE V6 in high school), y'all nailed it. $15k for an s12 is insane. It never got enough exposure to get any clout. There was no Initial D for the s12 and look what it did for a fucking Corolla! If I could get a Grand Prix s12, it'd be worth 15k to me. Only 50 produced for Europe and (possibly) Russia. Saabs are criminally overlooked nowadays in terms of price to performance. If you can keep them maintained theyre well worth the price and that price is typically very low. I got my 9-5 Aero Wagon for less than $2k and its a rocket on the highway. Yeah it has its problems but at the end of the day its a beautiful, practical car that i drive daily.
I remember seeing a s12 a while back for around 6k 80k miles and it looked really clean only problem was bent fender and it was 3 hrs away, would've been cool
I got my FD RX-7 for $4620, I can't help but measure everything against that. Of course it was kinda clapped out but I was able to sell the spares and drivetrain for more than I paid for the whole car (I'm LS swapping it). I'm using the full Parts Shop Max catalog, Ronin Speedworks subframe, 8.8" mount etc

Got my XR4Ti for $1500USD in 2015. Still find them in the $2-$4k range, even today. The Sierra Cosworth parts, that bolt on, are worth more then the car value.
the euro spec S12 from the thumbnail tho. euro spec tail lights are incredibly difficult to find and look sooooooo good on USDM mk1 cars with a mk2 SE lip kit and spoiler
Look in Australia, we had them for the last bit of its lifetime, I'm guessing they're all in wrecking yards now because I see one every 8 years lol
My budget dream car would be a 4th gen Honda accord coupe with the 5 speed. Don't know why I like this specific accord so much, but I do.
netgear sus for the middle school girl comment 🤔
wtf....
My 5k car story:
Last summer I got an mk5 supra and wanted to find a reliable car for the winter to keep the supra put up.
Saab SPG stood for Special Performance Group it was an uptrim optional package on an already expensive for the time car.

Soo in all honesty.....I bought a 2006 cts cadillac...265 hp...3.5...rear wheel....had some offsets on it shit looked clean..bought it for 1,950.....yes it was lil rough but that's the benefits of being a mechanic
Had a cobalt SS. So much fun. Also my first car was an S12 notchback. Wish i could get one again.
i managed to get a zc swapped 88 CRX HF, with the center console, parcel covers, euro red crx seats, no rust/damage, floor mats, Si wheels, and only 300,000 miles on the chassis with ~120k on the drivetrain for 5500 in july 2023. Still runs great. The interior parts i listed are worth around 2.5k alone due to rarity. most fun car i’ve ever driven
Hell yeah cheap classics are cool, they have so much character, and that's what makes them interesting
For me my dream car has always been a Mitusbishi Eclipse 2nd Gen "as stupid as it sounds i know lol" but you can barely find one in a good and unmolested running condition nowadays since most of them either are rusted to hell, have a blown engine or are Paul Walker's tribute car projects "don't get me wrong about the last one, the guy was a cool actor and stuff but haven't we seen enough of those tribute cars already?"
I also understand the "Get a GS-T/GSX dude, AWD 4G63 engine bro, so sick no cap frfr" but here's the thing, the latter is pretty much impossible to find here in Puerto Rico therefore you'll have to settle with the weaker Chrysler engine one unless you swap it for something better. But as they say beggars can't be choosers
Last year I picked up my affordable dream car which was a 1989 lx mustang. Not very fast stock but I’m swapping a built 351w in it. Never fails to make me smile driving it around.
Any plans on another Hard Truth video? I miss seeing mr gonzo’s luscious locks
We need an "Angel NetGear' Video lol
Sooner than you think (the soonness may shock you)
All about the fun where you can find it.
I like how not only are all the cars in the video ones I posted in the podcast chat, I seem to be one of the only two people who actually got excited over that packard. If I had the money, I'd buy that sucker and have a great time fucking about with it.
What would you do with it and what gets you going for post war sedans
@@joshuakhaos4451 I'm so looking forward to it, I'd love to do an engine swap in a wartime coupe or sedan, build my own ratrod, even.
@@LukemDakuwa Ive actually thought of getting one of those old Chevy Fleetline torpedo coupes and swapping out that I6 and sticking in a Buick 3800 Supercharged engine along with a 5 speed manual on the floor. And up grade the brakes to something a bit more modern. I'd have one hell of a fun runabout and even a cool roadtrip worthy classic.
Even if it's slow, even if the interior is cheap and it needs a lot of cosmetic work, it's what I fell in love with.
yo bro im thinking about buying this toyota cellica st205 gt4 wrc edition, the guys selling it for £3.8k about $4k, its mostly stock with just some simple suspension upgrades and theres only a tiny bit of rust on the ineer right fender, thoughts on it?
Sounds like an easy buy
Straight 8s with equal length headers sound AMAZING and unique in person. You put that car on bags and have a comfortable time with great engine noises.
The car I drove in HS, which my dad has "mostly" restored, was a '67 Mustang (289cid auto). It was pretty fast in a straight line, since it'd had some work done, but I was glad to park it when I got my first of two MR2's. My first was a silver '85, just like the one dude has for sale in Netgear's video, and my second was a red '91 w/t-tops. I know y'all rag on the t-tops, but that shit is FUN! Bitches dig it, too.
That packard would make a neat lead sled.
i got my rust free running and driving 1988 S12 notchback/coupe for $1500, last year. The CA20E is gutless but the car was really clean and cheap and fun.
Although it isn't rare, I will keep my Volvo 240 wagon as long as it isn't wrapped around a tree, I have a Volvo 164 that's in need of restoration and a Nissan 200B (
As a big s12 guy (I had an SE V6 in high school), y'all nailed it. Widebody fenders and an FJ20et turbo 4 cylinder engine. They're unobtanium though.
94 wrx dream car, got it now, dealing with the common issues, next i can throw on a hks exhaust and get a chip soldered on for a tune, then mess with the wheels and that’s it i think
I came here fir the thumbnail, s12s are my heart
i noticed on that 200sx turbo it had 4 lugs then the red one had 5. i had a few dodge daytonas and chrysler lazer turbos back in the day 1985-87 the first year had 4 lug then they went to 5 early cars they always work out the bugs i really liked the turbo front wheel drive for the snowy salt lake i moved to. i grew up in la and had several fox body mustangs and capris the turbo was fun and the 86 svo was a much better deal than the 5.0. turbo fox body tbirds and cougars would be a cheap route to go and the mark lincon with the 5.0 would be another cheap hot rod and you can’t forget your panthers and GM caprice and Buick’s twin
I love the 98-00 Imprezas. I have 2 wagons but I'd love to have a coupe someday.

the LCN intro 👍

Falcon was test bed for mustang... and AUS falcon are King 👑...my 225hp 98 rustang not rusty... is fun to drive. With spring n bars and brz or Miata style formula for tires . Make fun car
Do C4 Corvettes fit this list? There's plenty of those where I live, but not really any good Miata's. We're talking under 5000 dollars, 4000 even.
If you want to find a deal you have to look for a long time and you have to be willing to drive three or four hours each way
C4s used to fit, but they are on the upswing right now
Netgear is crazy, C4 is a Copevette and does fit this list, they're cheap
Feed is a furry.

4:25 is a beautiful car
I bought a 1999 Saab 9-3 Turbo for $1,900 Canadian. Most enjoyable vehicle I've ever owned.
Rarity, scarcity, prestige, stories behind a car make it great. Yes I love "basic" cars, speed isn't everything.
12:00 ah.. packard.. manuals are easily EV Swapped.. it could live again, only waay faster
I remember seeing a s12 a while back for around 6k 80k miles and it looked really clean only problem was bent fender and it was 3 hrs away, would've been cool
The s12 saga continues
Saw my dream car, an s12 hatch as the thumbnail, decided to watch.
Agreed! Give me a second generation Lincoln Town Car... Makes me smile.
My dream car is a pontiac Fiero, i bought mine a while ago for cheap and love it, I don't care that it will get gapped by a chevy cruze, I love it.
Just an FYI, Maine facebook market place has no shortage of parts fieros
My first car was an auto 1987 200sx , lots of fun . got me hooked on japanese cars
S12🥰
I got my FD RX-7 for $4620, I can't help but measure everything against that. Of course it was kinda clapped out but I was able to sell the spares and drivetrain for more than I paid for the whole car (I'm LS swapping it). I'm using the full Parts Shop Max catalog, Ronin Speedworks subframe, 8.8" mount etc
saturn sky redline, honda s2000, mk4 supra. my top cars.
I always remember when the AZ-1 first became legal to import, Everyone was crowding it at this car meet. asking questions, and people were like "this is so fucking cool" and these were boomers, children, etc. people who aren't JDM nuts. This same car meet had lambos, ferraris, higher end vettes, etc. But this little autozam was getting all the attention.
Always trying to skip short 350z part of ad and now ad changed and my ff landed on the 350z ad. Good evening.
As I just work my way through old uploads from one of my new favorite channels, I have to ask why sometimes the "wanna talk some shit?" Isn't beeped, and like t his video it isn't. Are some of them monetized and some not?
I totally disagree about the S12. They're becoming such a unicorn car to get. Those cars are gonna go up in value similarly to the MR2 and the Celica.
Lol no they're not
Netgear absolutely nailed that. I've never cared about supercars, personally. They're impressive, but I'm not really interested.
I’ll take the saab first then everything is second on my list thanks for sharing 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
What a good video
That Packard could be sick with a bit of work and some airbags.
The 84 200sx doesn't list the mileage because it's got a digital dash that probably went out by now 😂
Im thankful my 84 300zx has the analog and cloth. It has withstood the test of time better than its electric/leather counterparts
I've been waiting for y'all to look at a Saab
i feel represented lol i think this might be the first s12 thumbnail i have seen in years
That Saab 900 SPG is cheap there. In my country, this car sold for 30k USD minimum, with that budget, you could only get 9000 or new 900.
man yall awesome
Yooooo I was looking at that saab!
My dream cars are actually the Saab 900 and Volvo 240, sedan.
The Packard would make a cool bagged or lowered lead sled. Then again I like the super old cars
i got my toyota soarer mk2 and im so glad, i do not know what else i want after this
you guys shoud do bmw E30 soon :) dream car has been E30 since when i was 8 year old, now 24 years old in 2019 i got it and now it sit's in garage for 2 years still working on it.
The Saab does look like a flat bill hat and I'll never unsee it hahahaha
Dont get me wrong, I completely I agree about true car enjoyers being more interested in the quirky cool sports cars instead of supercars, but I feel like there is a middle ground with things like wanting to own an early gen gated r8, ferrari 360/ 430 in manual, and a 992 or 996 in manual. I would much rather have an older supercar that still gives the analog feel than a new huracan or something.
Omg. That Mark Roden take is so funny. Hyperlul
I dunno, i like old cars but i wouldnt be picking up that packard for 8,500 if were talking daily driver
the s2000 will one day be on the supra level of unattainable. it’s only a matter of time until people realize how good those cars are and then everyone buys them and become the next 240…which is why i’m trying to buy one right now lol
Yes s2000 is also my dream. You can still get a Supra for 30-40k. You must have confused it with the R34 gtr which is 100k at least
@@unrealmagic6519 u can’t get a good supra for 30-40k, they always have hidden problems. either it’s rhd with hidden rust or hella beat usdm. if u really want a mint s2k u can get one easily for 35-40k with sub 40k miles, i don’t think u can say the same w the supra
Saab 900s look like swimming ducks
And that’s a bad thing?
Holy shit did I just hear LCN??
To be honest my dream car used to be an r35 gtr but now it's an evo 3, so keep your expectations low everyone
if that $3900 saab ran i would buy the hell out of it
The S12 is so unknown it's criminal
Dude that Packard is fucking sick.
The first thirty seconds of this video is a fucking ANTHEM.
It kind of sounds like the interlude from Rock Superstar
I pick cool car dirt cheap still. Just make friends with you local tow truck drivers. They all know that if a rx7 ,miats or datsuns come along to call me.
I pay cash and less than 1500 for everything. I gave 1200 for my nb 6speed hard top for example.
This is the way.
0:51 - Ill Bill
I have owned few Saabs (live in Finland so pretty normal) absolute pain in the ass if you need to do work on them but man they are fun to drive.
Try telling a group of Australians that no one cares about ford falcons.
I like supercars and all but what if my dream car is a VR6 swapped Subaru WRX bugeye wagon? People say dream big? don't, dream fun!
the s12 is certainly shooting up in value now. They are just hitting peoples radars.
