I don't see you talking anything about that part and I don't know if it is even replaceable. Please advise? I can't even find the piece, as I blew on the open key and it disappeared. Thank you!
Thanks mate! I ran across your video a little too late after I began this process, and now one key is just now flat after re installing. It doesn’t feel stiff, just flat. I am afraid maybe I didn’t remove the from the bottom first. Does the key laying flat maybe mean that the keys top hooks broke? Or the scissor mechanisms maybe came out of place? I might just have to pay that 149 service fee to repair lol. Thanks!
This was very helpful. I spilled cranberry juice on 6 keys and this worked wonders. I just bought a keyboard cover so this hopefully doesn't happen again.
I have a used macbook 2020 i just bought but i noticed some of the keys when i first initally pressed them were sticky and made a big click noise, they work fine after the initial sticky click. Not sure what exactly the previous owner did to the mac but i assume they got some sort of spill or stick substance on it, (i also noticed the mac is kinda dirty in crevices like they used it as a plate 😂 I got it for a fair deal and it works like new so im willing to over look it and clean it myself, but im wondering if i dip a paint brush with soft fibers in the alcohol and clean under the keys like that, if i could avoid having to take the keys off themselves.
I snapped two of my buttons (out of the 10 that I removed with a fingernail cleaner) and had to order a replacement set of just the caps from Amazon. Pulling from the bottom didn't work from me, there are some other videos that say to pull from the bottom right, and then the bottom left.
Is it wise to be pouring liquid on the keyboard? 10:09 I know it's rubbing alcohol and will evaporate, but is the palm rest water resistant? I just cleaned a spacebar and I was very cautious about getting any alcohol on the surface fearing any drip going inside onto the mainboard.
I spilt oil on my apple keyboard that connects by bluetooth. I followed all the steps however when I tried using it, it didn't respond too well when I had tried typing it out. I'm not sure if I have left it there for too long or whether it doesn't work anymore. Someone please give me some tops what else I should do :)

I had a sticky R key and took off the key as instructed. When I went to clean it, the middle, tiny round piece came off. I don't see you talking anything about that part and I don't know if it is even replaceable. Please advise? I can't even find the piece, as I blew on the open key and it disappeared. Thank you!
Thanks - That was really helpful..you save me and my daughter some good amount of headache.
You're welcome, glad to be able to help =)
is a mac air 2012 diffrently alighned key-wise?
Can you do video for the things under the key cap
Here is the video 👍ua-cam.com/video/GdU4uJQOj9A/v-deo.html
Hello, can i do this with Antisepsol?
Hey! Does this work for Macbook pro, or is it a different technique? thx
Depending on the year and model the keys can be a little bit different but the same concept.
For other Apple keyboard yes but if you have a butterfly keyboard you shouldn’t do that
You saved my life ... actually, my keyboard’s life!! Thank you!!! Thumbs up👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Glad I could help! =) Thanks for watching.
why the importance of high % isopropyl alcohol? Will 70% work?
High % has Reduced water content being poured onto the electronics. It may work if you use it sparingly and are very careful.
are the keys different for the MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021?
Thanks mate! I ran across your video a little too late after I began this process, and now one key is just now flat after re installing. It doesn’t feel stiff, just flat. I am afraid maybe I didn’t remove the from the bottom first. Does the key laying flat maybe mean that the keys top hooks broke? Or the scissor mechanisms maybe came out of place? I might just have to pay that 149 service fee to repair lol. Thanks!
Same issue. Did you get it resolved? I'm guessing new keys are needed?
This was very helpful. I spilled cranberry juice on 6 keys and this worked wonders. I just bought a keyboard cover so this hopefully doesn't happen again.
Oh good glad it was useful
my y, n, m, and left command keys do not insert properly. each time i try to re-place them, they get stuck. any tips?
did you happen to figure it out? I'm scared to try taking them out in the first place in case mine end up like yours did
@@seshisorce no :( I’m planning on just taking it to a professional
@@spideryeyelashes ooft okay then, that’s probably the best option :( i’m pretty povo but I guess it’ll be worth it lmao
@@seshisorce don’t push yourself, I’ve been using my keyboard without those four keys for four months
@@spideryeyelashes bro howw, did you just use the click keyboard? I can handle maybe the esc button but definitely not letters
Dude I thank you, I’ll never fall asleep with and energy drink in my hands again😂
Lol you are welcome
My right cmnd key has been sorta sticky/crunchy for abt 3 months... thanks to this video, the demons have at long last been exorcised. :D
i dropped a hot dog in the bun on my keyboard. now full of ketchup and mustard (along with 4 yrs of crumbs). LOL doing this cleaning today
how do you put a rubber cup back on?
I snapped two of my buttons (out of the 10 that I removed with a fingernail cleaner) and had to order a replacement set of just the caps from Amazon. Pulling from the bottom didn't work from me, there are some other videos that say to pull from the bottom right, and then the bottom left.
What year computer do you have? Pro or air? They are designed differently depending on year and model.
Is this applicable to an early 2015 Macbook Air A4166?
Is it wise to be pouring liquid on the keyboard? 10:09 I know it's rubbing alcohol and will evaporate, but is the palm rest water resistant? I just cleaned a spacebar and I was very cautious about getting any alcohol on the surface fearing any drip going inside onto the mainboard.
Alcohol is the liquid of choice to clean main boards.
I spilt oil on my apple keyboard that connects by bluetooth. I followed all the steps however when I tried using it, it didn't respond too well when I had tried typing it out. I'm not sure if I have left it there for too long or whether it doesn't work anymore. Someone please give me some tops what else I should do :)
hi, I'm sorry I'm no help I'm just replying because I want to ask what ended up happening with your laptop? did you have to go get it professionally fixed or did you have to buy a new one or did you get it working? :)
i found a damaged membrane thingy. Is there a way to replace just that one key?
Thanks a ton my spacebar was acting funky, this helped a ton
Thanks for the video, but some of my key caps feels stuckk what happened🥲
Did you get all the coffee out? Did you remove the switches and then reinstall them incorrectly?
Is this applicable for the macbook air 2017?
does this work with macbook pro?
