My favorite part about Ben is that his actor (Sebastian Croft) is the self-proclaimed president of the Ben Hope Hate Club as he should

It often takes guts to be the bad guy. He's a superb actor (Along with most of the cast).
It also appears that great actors and performers can tell a production that is of such quality and can serve such a meaningful purpose. These people will provide with very little pay.

I liked that you acknowledged Ben's struggles. As most of us, I hate his character too.. but, I love his acting.. the cracks in his voice and expressions are absolutely real!

When it comes to internalized homophobia you have to understand the inner crisis and yea have seen so many act out with anger and vitriol that they honestly have for themselves. TBH at time I did at a young age either stay silent or go alokg to an extent with the queer hate but I am proud that I would try my best to defend someone else that was facing this type of abuse. Often I would then get slurs thrown on me and would flip the script ‘so what if I was gay how would you feel about that.(would you not be able to get along anyone with me/them)’ Also this works both for hate at me and my friends / fellow colleges/humans etc :)
So one could only hope that the ben’s of the world just need more people like Charlie and Nick to lead with a compassionate heart and the will to do better by affirming and acting on feelings when we find or build a safe space :_)
I don’t know what voodoo did Netflix do, but I can’t effing stop watching Heartstopper. I have already watched more than 20 times. I’m in actually literally in LOVe with this show. I can’t get rid of this feeling😩😩😩😩. I don’t know whether to love Netflix or hate. Make this feeling go away. I need season 2 badly🥺🥺🥺 P.S Nick Nelson is absolutely adorable and a golden retriever. Everyone deserves Nick in their lives😌

two facts or however u call them in english:
this show is based o the first two comic of heartstopper by alice oseman (that's why there are all those papery things)
the actors are really really young and are actually teenager as in the show, the actor who plays nick for example (kit connor) was born in 2004
As a fan of the webcomic, its honestly really fun to see peoples first reactions. I love that they kept to the comic, seeing it come to life and how perfectly they picked the actors really makes it a perfect show imo

I feel like getting used by people when other people want to explore their sexualities is a very common experience for young LGBTQ+ who are out, it was so nice to see that be shown on screen because it really does happen

He's not. He's just young and lost and hasn't yet developed the tools to deal with his feelings. Society is not encouraging when judging people's sexual inclinations. I'm convinced that Ben will evolve with time and regret his current behaviour, which is the result of fear.
@@voulafisentzidis8830 I mean, sure, but he also sexually assaulted someone. He has A LOT of bettering himself to do. And honestly, in my experience, there are a lot of guys who stay exactly where Ben is right now, and never get much better.
@@AnnekeOosterink undoubtedly there are, males in particular, who aren't comfortable with their sexuality and so bully those who are different. That doesn't mean we fear them by giving them more power than they have. It does mean that we stand up to them, as Charlie did, so they understand that their behaviour is unacceptable and doesn't frighten us. I would cross the street to avoid such people but would not show fear. Their ignorance belongs to them.

I’ve watched seasons 1 and 2 now probably upwards of 50 times between individual watches and watching others react to it and it just hasn’t gotten old yet! Every time I watch it I get the same feeling of joy and happiness and comfort. It’s a comfort show for sure

I love your commentary throughout, I felt like I was watching it with a friend :) I agree with liking the child-like nature of the show: it's really comforting to have a wholesome show as a break from real life and adulting
There were a few little things that the book made clearer. Charlie had been texting with Ben in the locker room so Nick saw that something was bothering Charlie is why he hung around and followed him.
I really love Heartstopper, The books and the show, and I love your reactions too, So see you reacting to Heartstopper literally made my day
and the background music at the end was "Don't delete the kisses" by Wolf Alice and he sent him a kiss in the message....
I think one thing a lot of people miss unless you're from the UK is Charlie & his friends go to an all-boys school (Truham) and Elle & the girls go to an all-girls school (Higgs) which are probably next to each other as evidenced by all the girls passing by Truham's gate when their school's ended and things like Imogen hanging out with the rugby lads every morning.
What I love about heartstopper is, it is close to reality not like other BL series.. This happened to me and me and the guy we ended up being friends haha..
off topic, and not sure if anyone has noticed this, but at 10:48 or 10:49 alex and nick both run their hands through their hair. lol.
I've never really understood the attraction to "reaction videos," but "Heartstoppers" is such an amazing show, that I stumbled on your video while looking at interviews with the cast and creator.
Now I get it! I didn't know anything about the graphic novel, and only knew what the trailer showed. In fact, I didn't know the "I broke up with my boyfriend" line was so early in the show.
Anyway, it was great seeing and hearing your reactions - pretty much the same as mine to both the characters and the show as a whole. The constant repetition of Charlie & Nick greeting each other is such a sweet counter to Ben's ignoring him in the hallway.
This is THE show. Please, we need more Heartstopper content you’re so funny. 💕💖💖

I am completely in love with the series. There are many things to talk about. The chemistry between Nick and Charlie is amazing. Kit's performance was extraordinary, at every moment he imprinted on his face the shadows of doubts that hovered over Nick's mind with perfect mastery. Their relationship fits in a sweet and very soft, respectful way. The supportive stance that Charlie provides for Nick and the love that Nick provides for Charlie is surprising. Nick has the manhood to take on the relationship. The affection between the two is phenomenal. A totally cute couple. The school context, friendship between colleagues, the setting in which the series was recorded. Everything is perfect.😍😍😍😍😩👏💕💞❤️❤️

I really recommend the WEBTOON, there are some differences with the show vs the WEBTOON. There are also a lot of scenes and relationships that are not included in the show. I really hope they do a season 2, I really want to see some of the scenes in the show.
