Good god, these guys are sick. I've been listening to death metal since probably 1990? 91? What's going on in the scene right now is just so encouraging.
I agree man. In high school late 2000's I remember having to really acquire a taste for the OSDM scene. Even Suffocation took me a while to really learn to appreciate. I feel like over the last 15 years I've been preparing, unbeknownst to me, to truly appreciate death metal. However I must say if these guys were around when I first found death metal I would have had no issues enjoying them off the bat.
.. was a huge death metal fan in my teen years, mid 90s .. I’d buy all the classics from our local pawn shop and record store .. incantation , morbid angel, cannibal , Deicide, death..minimum internet access back then as well, so a lot of music trading and word of mouth .. and then in my twenties everything seemed to go “hardcore” or tech .. don’t get me wrong still enjoyed some of those bands .. but this new wave of death has got this almost 40 year old man feeling like a kid again .. so many good bands out right now .. I hope the kids realize how good they got it and what a great time it is to be a death metal fan 🤘🏼
@@clstile Hell yeah! I'll be 50 soon, so I used to go to a record shop and just look at album art. From there I'd buy an album then read the thank list and buy THOSE albums, and so on. It's too instant gratification these days which is good and bad. There are so many bands these days! But some of them are insanely good. Can't wait for the Carcass/Municipal Waste/Sacred Reich/Creeping Death show. Talk about a full bill of bands I've gotten into from high school until now. I first saw Sacred Reich in 1990!
Man, everything about this is legit great. Metal that's heavy but GROOVY is so addictive. Dude's thrashing their heads in unison, the growls and visceral screams. It's sooo fucking good.
Man.. i feel you! Death Groove is the perfect way of describing the sound. Sounds a bit like decapitated latest work (anticult, Cancer culture), a harsher Emtombed (Wolferine Blues) and even some Deathcore in there 🤟🏻
The wrath of TXDM, countless great bands from that scene. Old and new. Infernal Dominion and Frozen Soul are two all time favs for me, if Devourment wasn’t obvious as well lol.
I'm gonna be real here. It's good. I like it. And I'll be ordering a cd 100%. But they sound like they have been listening to way to much of the crossover shit they have been touring with. Especially in the vocal department. It'll grow on me more. It already has. But I guess I just wasn't expecting to hear that influence.
To be fair, North East Texas is a huge crossover scene and alot of their influences are crossover bands. I think when you hear the rest of the album you will be on board 100%, the vocals are alot more dynamic than their first release.
@@hren3136 oh absolutely I know. But their last album didn't really have any of that. So hearing it now was like whoa. Not in a bad way. But not really in a good way either. Trust me I don't want the same release all over again. It's just tippy. I'll be buying. And I'll probably love it. Just weird
Just my opinion, but one thing holding this band back is the drummer, his blast beats SUCK live and on track, if he could just tighten up his snare rolls it would make a huge improvement, great band though
Pure fight music
Dude Texas metal bands are a different breed 😳😳

The scenes in the best state it’s been in since the 90s heyday of morbid angel, cannibal corpse, death, deicide etc
@@patrickbateman9077 I love everything about today. Well, the music anyway.
